Star Hikusaak Hero Star
Investigation 1:
Name: Hikusaak Bronson
Age: 498
From: Akulusk, Aronia
Bio: The former ruler of former Harmonia. He
officially dismantled the theocracy and surrendered to the Liberation army at
Cerock Castle. He bears the True Circle
Rune.
Investigation 2: Oh man, you are seriously asking me
to investigate Hikusaak? People die researching this guy, you know that? Um,
well, you know he recently joined you at Cerock Castle, and officially
announced the End of Harmonia. Is that good enough for you?
Crud. You’re really not going to let this go, huh?
This is not easy, being as anyone who knows his background is dead. I did do
some digging though. Though talking with
Bryce, I have learned a few things. Hikusaak used the Circle Rune to bring a
new order to the area, but somewhere around 230 years ago, the rune entered its
stagnation phase. It started with Hikusaak, with his health deteriorating,
eventually reducing him to a vegetable state.
This is what truly began Harmonia’s quest for True Runes, in looking for
a Rune that could help cure Hikusaak. As time went on, the stagnation spread to
the entire empire he had made, with revolts and rebellions galore. When the
liberation army and Camaro finally took over the empire, its stagnation ended
with destruction, freeing Hikusaak from its curse. It’s reentered the change phase, and so he
joined up to help bring about change.
Can we leave it at that? Please?
Investigation 3: Gah. Are you trying to get me killed
investigating this guy?
With my options for finding out information on
Hikusaak limited, I tried following Hikussaak. I didn’t think I’d find
anything, but then… I hit pay dirt in the least likely place. Hikusaak had Viki
teleport him to the town of Delon in Central Harmonia. I followed him to a
small house in the poorest section, and he met with a young woman in the middle
of the night. I immediately thought he was going for some action, but got in
close to be sure. And you know what he said? He explained to this girl that she
was his great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great
granddaughter!
As I overheard him explain to her, he had a child
out of wed lock over 200 years ago. He planned to marry the woman, named Mary,
but his rune began its stagnation phase, and he was afraid to get too close to
her, in case the rune affected her too. He set up a fund to keep track of her
and her family, but the Order of God he created to rule in his stead usurped
the money, and took it for themselves. One of the first things he did when he
woke up was to track down what happened to his lover and family. They talked
for hours, talking of their shared family history, but nothing too scandalous.
The juiciest tidbit? Hikusaak declared he has no desire to rule or govern in
the new government, instead hoping to fade into the background, and reconnect
with the people, especially his family. I wonder how that will work for him
with the Circle Rune?
Investigation 4:
Ok, I’m intrigued. I took a chance, and spied on Hikusaak and Bryce
despite the danger. It was worth it, as I heard the biggest news yet. Hikusaak
is having Bryce scout out people for a special project: Hikusaak plans to
transfer his True Rune onto a new host.
This is huge, folks. Without that Rune, Hikusaak,
one of the most influential men of the day, will age and die. This will truly
bring about a Harmonia without Hikusaak by his own will. When he joined us, I
had my doubts about him joining, but this shows he really he is removing
himself from the political spotlight.
The only question is, who will he choose to replace
him as the bearer of the True Rune? They didn’t have a solid choice in mind
when I last spied on him, but I know I will be keeping an eye on this. Maybe I
should nominate myself. What do you think?
2. Tengou
Star Sasari Skilled General
Investigation 1:
Name: Sasari
Age: 39
From: Crystal Valley, Harmonia
Bio: Sasari joined our group shortly after Camaro
began using demons to fight Harmonia. With Harmonia badly losing the war and
her people in danger, Sasari took shelter with the only force still strong
enough to combat the demon threat. Namely, us.
Investigation 2: Sasari bears the True Earth rune, a
powerful rune that gives him control of staggering earth magic. As a Bishop and
Priest General of Harmonia, he is one of its most influential men of Harmonia,
right under the Order of God. He’s served in wars for them for years, with
notable appearances in the Second Fire Bringer War, the Dunan Unification war,
and Harmonia’s occupation of Sanadia/Sanady and its surrounding regions.
Yet for all this, he is really quite humble. He
doesn’t take care of his appearance like some fancypants Narcissist Noble, but
has attendants constantly fussing over him as he is so highly ranked. He
doesn’t lord over people, and tries for peaceful solutions when allowed, always
looking to minimize casualties. And when they can’t be avoided, he uses his
earth magic to always make sure to bury the dead, friend and foe alike. With
the power he wields, he should be intimidating, but if you pardon the pun, he’s
really down to ‘earth.’
Investigation 3: Sasari is a hard one to research,
let me tell you. Every file on him is either been destroyed or so classified
that no one I know where it would even be stored. All I can find is historical
documents on the wars he’s served, but nothing on his past, where he came from,
nothing. It’s like he just….showed up, fully formed one day, and no one
noticed. I’ll try calling in some favors, but don’t hold your breath on this
one.
Investigation 4: Well, with nothing else working, I
broke down and tried talking to Sasari directly about his past, and did I ever
learn a lot more than I bargained.
According to Sasari, he recently learned that he is
a Homunculi, a sort of ‘clone’ of Hikusaak created to bear a True Rune. The
idea of creating these clones was to help find a way to cure the real Hikusaak,
and end the stagnation curse of his Circle Rune. The idea was to create a host
powerful enough to bear/control the Circle Rune, but it was thought another
True Rune was needed to make such a host. If someone were able to control a
True Rune inside of themselves, then bear the True Circle Rune on their arm, it
would allow them to control the Rune without such a devastating impact, and
free the real Hikusaak from his curse.
All fine and dandy, but the original plan was
corrupted by the Order of God, who usurped the idea of homunculi bearing True
Runes to try and create and army of 27 unstoppable warriors, loyal to Harmonia
alone. By the time Sasari was born (created?) The Order of God was in such
control that Sasari didn’t even know of his status as a homunculi or the goal
to save Hikusaak, and thus the empire. Created just to be used by the Order of
God, Sasari has a bone to pick with them, but stayed with Harmonia out of love
for his country. But with revolution in the air and Harmonia ruined, he fights
now not for a country, but for the people in it.

Star Caesar Chief
strategist
Investigation 1:
Name: Caesar Silverburg
Age: 24
From: Seika, Toran Republic
Bio: Caesar is our army’s chief strategist, as I’m
sure you know. Your team convinced him to join us at Soledt Academy, when he
was visiting his brother, Albert.
Investigation 2: Caesar is a renowned strategist
from the line of Silverburgs, one of the most well known family’s on this
continent. For generations, almost every one of them has been a famed
strategist. Caesar himself led the Fire bringers to victory in the Second Fire
bringer war eight years ago, at the age of 16! Even Soledt Academy, the
renowned school of strategy, uses books of strategy written by the line of
silverburgs. It’s a huge legacy to try to live up to, but Caesar seems
determined to do just that.
Ironically, one of the few Silverburgs not known for
being a strategist is Caesar’s father, George. George was a pacifist by nature,
and refused to study military science, focusing on medicine instead. While a
skilled doctor, he never gained the fame of his relatives known for taking
lives instead of saving them.
Investigation 3: Huh. Get this. Apparently, Caesar
used to be known for taking long naps, even sleeping while standing up. He was
so laid back, that he could literally lead armies to victory in his sleep
induced haze. It seems so different from the man who leads our army today. I
wonder what created such a huge change in him?
Investigation 4: Hoo hoo, I love this. I think I
know what helped Caesar shape up. He was out strategized by one of early
mentors, a woman named Apple. She was always trying to get him to take his
studies more seriously, but to no avail. So get this? She asked the famed Toran
doctor, Dr. Liukan, to create a series of herbs to simulate a deadly disease,
and faked her own death! She left Caesar know she was badly ill, and the herbs
from Liukan gave her the appearance of it too. Caesar spent weeks with her,
thinking Apple was dying, and never knowing the truth that her “medicine” was
what was making her sick. And on her supposed death bed, she asked Caesar to
become the man she knew he could be. Caesar swore he would change his ways to
honor her… and then she “died.” Apple and Liukan let Caesar think she was dead
for three days before she revealed her plan, and restored health, to him.
Caesar was stunned at first, but then rejoiced to see she was not dead. He
laughed at her trick, and told her the message was received loud and clear. He
finally began to take life seriously, and became the strategist he is today.

Star Leknannt Tablet
Guardian
Investigation 1:
Name: Leknaat Sigil
Age: 231
From: Gate Rune Village ((Near what is now Belhurst
in Harmonia))
Bio: Leknaat is a blind seer, the guardian of the
Stone Tablet of Destiny, and the bearer of the “Front” Gate rune, one of the
Two halves of the Gate Rune. She joined us to combat her sister Windy, the
owner of the Back gate rune and advisor to the Queen of Camaro.
Investigation 2: Leknaat is one of those tough
cases, being so old. What I can tell you is from the entry of her in Harmonia’s
logs. Her home town of the Gate Village was destroyed by Harmonia over 200
years ago, during Harmonia’s search for True Runes. All of the clan was killed
but Leknaat and Windy, and Leknaat lost her sight in this attack as well. The
two are ‘sisters’ but not by birth; it’s how the clan referred to themselves as
one giant family, more than anything. Somehow, the Gate rune was split into
two, with each of them getting a half. Leknaat then disappears off the radar
for some time, showing up at random to help others, but staying out of sight
herself. Her goals and motivations are largely unknown. For now.
Investigation 3: Ok, so here’s what I’ve learned from talking
to Leknannt. She and Windy both reacted to the massacre of their village in
different ways. Leknaat accepted things that happened then as fate, but Windy
was blind with rage. She wanted to use the Gate runes power to destroy the
world, for a world without her family was hell, and a world that allowed such
evil to happen deserved to be destroyed. Leknaat disagreed, not wanting to take
such drastic measures in haste. They fought over the rune, and the battle
destroyed much of the area, leaving the Haunted Dessert in its wake. In a last
ditch effort, the rune broke itself into two parts, giving half of itself to
each of the two sisters. Windy’s half could summon great monsters to destroy as
she wanted, but Leknaat could send them back, preserving balance as she wanted.
The two sisters walked away, knowing they would meet once again.
Investigation 4: With only half a rune that Leknaant
could counter, Windy began searching for a more powerful True Rune to further
her plans to destroy the world. Specifically, the Soul Eater, the rune that
governs life and death. She wanted to use its powers to kill all life on this
planet, and enlisted the aid of such powerful creatures as Yuber and
Neclord. Leknaat didn’t dare fight back
directly then, not wanting to upset the balance of fate she so believed in. So
she sought out others, guiding them to take control of the True Runes, for with
each rune that was claimed gave Windy even less options to destroying the
world.
Slowly, Leknaat began to realize an important facet
of human life; fate IS changeable. Terrified of fate from her own village being
destroyed so long ago, she let others try to change the fate of the world for her,
never daring to do so herself. When she realized the hypocrisy of her actions,
she decided to take a more active role in her own life, and in the world. She
has slowly come out of hiding, helping Tir McDohl defeat Windy in the Toran
unification war among others, and now, joining us to help defeat Windy once and
for all.
It’s been a long road for Leknaat, but I for one am
glad to have her with us!

Star Humphrey
Investigation 1:
Name: Humprey Mintz
Age: 57
From: Gregminster, Toran Republic
Bio:
Investigation 2: Humphrey has a long and sordid
history to him. He started out as a member of the Scarlet Moon Empire, fighting
in the war of succession. But as he proved himself in battle, he quickly became
one of King Barbarosa’s Elite Imperial guards, and Lieutenant of that company
at that. But then came the Kalekka incident, in which Leon Silverburg and Barbarossa
ordered the Elite guards to massacre their own citizens on the border at
Kalekka to incite the people to war; a strategy later used by Luca Blight of
Harmonia with the massacre of the Unicorn brigade. Humphrey was one of the
soldiers ordered to participate in the attack, but instead, he killed her own
commanding officer and helped form the Liberation army, to create a better world
where such tactics would never be used.
Investigation 3: Humphrey was one of the founding
members of the Toran Liberation army, and fought in that war for nine years.
During this time, Humphrey became the guardian of the former Dragon rider named
Futch, who has lost his dragon during the war. After the war, the two set out
to find a new dragon. They found one in the area of Matilda in the Dunan
republic with the help of Riou, the leader of the Dunan Army. In gratitude,
Futch and Humphrey helped him through to the end of the war. Afterwards, Futch
was able to return to the Dragon’s Den with his new dragon, and Humphrey needed
a new goal in life.
Investigation 4: Humphrey found this new goal in the
arms of a woman, named Ophelia Foster, a former guard captain of the Dunan
Army. She lost her eye in battle, and was honorably discharged from service,
becoming a barmaid in the castle instead to keep helping the war effort. She
met Humphrey there, and Humphrey took interest in the wounded pride of an old
soldier. The two became friends and later lovers, giving birth to their
daughter, Phoebe. They lived a good life for three years at Dunan Castle, but
then tragedy struck. Ophelia and Phoebe were out at picnic, when they were
mugged. Ophelia still remembered the days of being a solider, and tried to
fight back, and was killed for her efforts in front of Phoebe. Humphrey would
track and kill the bandits for their crime, but the damage was done.
After that, Humphrey was lost. He began traveling
with his old friends Flik and Viktor, as Flik’s wife had given birth to a
daughter, and Humphrey saw her as a good substitute mother for the girl.
Viktor’s girl was also there, and the three girls could be friends. In
addition, between Flik, Viktor, and Humphrey, he was sure they could protect
the trio of girls. So Humphrey locked up his emotions, and became more of a
guardian, trying to be a good father to his little girl as best he could. The
group found their way to Harmonia, and to the present.

Star Hauser
Investigation 1:
Name: Hauser Cusku
Age: 65
From: Muse, Dunan
Bio: Hauser is an old general of the Dunan Republic
from its days as City State. With our formal alliance to Dunan, they sent
Hauser as their best and brightest general to aid our cause.
Investigation 2:
Hauser has fought in many wars in his time, fighting numerous battles as
the lead general. But before that, he started as a mere soldier in the first
Jowstone/Highland war, enlisting at the age of 14 with a faked ID. He served
under General Genkaku in the “great offensive” that retook the lost territories
of Greenhill and Matilda. In these fights, he proved to be more capable than
his commanding officers, knowing when to make battlefield decisions to attack,
and when to pull back. Genakaku recognized his skills, and promoted him to lead
his own company. By the war’s end, Hauser was one of Genkaku’s most trusted
commanders, and was known as the rising star of the city state. In the
following years as skirmishes with Toran and Highland increased, Hauser kept
climbing the ranks. When Genkaku was driven out as a traitor, Hauser became the
new head General of the City States.
Investigation 3: Hauser doesn’t talk about it much,
but he’s a married man. He has a wife, four kids, and nine grandchildren. He
adores them all, and was planning to retire to be with his family when the most
recent war with Harmonia started. He felt it would be in poor taste for the
head general to retire during a war, and he sent out to battle once again,
despite his family’s protests. He misses them greatly Due to his wife’s
multiple warning and his advanced age, he keeps worrying about his health and
of over doing it on the battlefield, afraid he might not make it back this
time. But after seeing him in action, I don’t think he has anything to worry
about, myself.
Investigation 4: Huh. I would not expect it from the
way he moves, but Hauser has a fake leg. His left leg is made of iron from just
below the hip. He lost his real leg in a fight in the first Higheast rebellion,
in battle with Harmonia’s Priest General Reuben. Reuben’s magic nearly killed
him, but Hauser dodged…just not fast enough. Hauser’s forces won the day when
reinforcements arrived from Flik and Viktor, but Hauser felt humiliated, that
his career and life were over. Flik called in a favor with an old trickster
friend of his named Meg, who created the metal leg for Hauser. It is powered by
several runes, allowing him free range of movement, almost indistinguishable
from a real human leg. With his leg and spirits restored, Hauser led his forces
to Victory once more, putting the Higheast rebellion down.

Star Dianna (Queen of Camaro) Strong village Leader
Investigation 1:
Name: Dianna Camaro
Age: 38
From: Chivalry Castle, Camaro
Bio: Dianna is the Queen of Camaro. She joined our
army to fight against Windy, who was controlling her mind.
Investigation 2: Dianna has a long and sordid past.
Where do I start? The beginning, I guess.
Well, Dianna was born the only child of noble family
in Camaro, the Marle’s. She grew up in a very strict atmosphere, being taught
to be a prim and proper lady, knowing languages, music, arts, reading, you name
it. She had tutors from Soledt and Greenhill Academies teaching her 14 hours a
day. One hour a day was to primping herself to make her look good, and she was
allowed nine hours of sleep; no more, no less. She wasn’t raised so much as
bred. When she was 14, her parents put her on the market to find a wealthy
husband for her, and found the Prince of Camaro, the most eligible bachelor of
the time. The Prince didn’t just marry her though, he took his time to know
more about her, and asked her if she wanted to marry him. She answered yes, of
course; her whole life had been trained for nothing else. So they were married,
and she became a princess.
Investigation 3: Their life wasn’t bad, but it was hardly
filled with love. I doubt Dianna even knew the meaning of the word. Two years
after the wedding, the old king of Camaro died in battle against their northern
neighbors, a tribe of barbarians from the nameless lands. Glenn and Dianna
became King and Queen. And as Queen, Dianna learned much about her country,
including the Piety Rune. A rune that grants wishes… it made her think, what
would she wish for? She started thinking of herself for a change, and not just
of her duties to her parents or husband. That’s not to say she didn’t do her
duties. She was a prim and proper queen, and did her best for her people. And
with her husband off in the wars, trying to avenge his father, she was left in
charge more often than not. She immersed herself into the role, trying to be
the best queen…but the new thoughts of what she wanted could not be squashed.
Investigation 4: Dianna started taking trips to see
the Piety Rune, and praying to it for happiness. Simple enough, really. But
then the change came, when she started wishing for what would make her happy.
She wanted freedom. She didn’t want to be a trophy wife, to be thought of as
just a plaything of her parents of husband. She wanted to be respected, to be
loved, and she wanted power. The Rune, inactive for years, responded to her
wish, and chose her as its bearer. This change signified that she was the true
ruler of Camaro, by the ancient laws. And it was true: the same day, her
husband died in battle as well. Dianna tells me she can’t be sure if it was
fate, of it the rune somehow responded to her wish to be free, and had her
husband killed.
With the power of the Rune and her husband dead, she
became the most powerful person in the country, revered as the Queen who bore
the Piety Rune. She began granting wishes for people, giving food to the poor
and healing the sick. But even as she did so, the war raged on. So she went to
battle against the nameless lands, and between her knowledge of strategy and
the power of her rune, she won handedly. She took over all of the nameless
lands, and began marching into Harmonia itself.
Of course, by this time she has found Windy, and was
partly manipulated by her. How much so, I don’t think we’ll ever know. But the
war happened by Dianna’s command, and with her people’s approval, that much is
for sure. Somewhere in the war, Windy used her powers to control Dianna, and
took over. We rescued her from that, and she joined us to make amends for
Windy’s crimes.

Star Pesmerga
Investigation 1:
Name: Pesmerga
Age: ???
From: ???
Bio: Pesmerga is a warrior of some renown, on the
hunt for his nemesis, Yuber. He joined us to help fight him.
Investigation 2: This one’s a tough case. According
to standard records, Pesmerga has no birth certificate or entry permit to the
country, so that doesn’t help. But in other records, he’s been sighted in many
wars, from the Gate Rune Wars of the Toran Republic, to the Dunan Unification
war. It’s not much of a lead, but it gives me something: people who knew him.
I’ll keep looking into this guy, and tell you what I can find.
Investigation 3: Well, I’ve found out a few things
about Pesmerga. Notably, he doesn’t eat. He doesn’t sleep. He can move faster
than most people can, even in heavy armor. He is stronger than most too, able
to do major damage with that blade of his. His senses are sharper too, seeing
as he notices me every time I try to follow him.
I talked to Flik and Viktor about him, and they said
pretty much what I’ve told you. He’s a ghost. He comes and goes where pleases,
and disappears just as easily. He hates Yuber with a passion, but why I don’t
know. I might have to just talk to him, but man, that dude is SCARY.
Investigation 4: Well damn. I talked to Pesmerga,
and he was surprisingly forthcoming about his past. He says he is not from this
world, but from the “world of emptiness,” land of demons and where souls go to
die. It is a bleak place, apparently. Yuber is a criminal from this land, a
demon of great power who stole the Eighfold Rune, which allowed souls to find
peace. Pesmerga is a sort of cop who took its ‘sister’ rune, the Ninefold Rune,
but he “cannot use it until the final confrontation with Yuber.” He says he’s
been chasing Yuber for over 500 years, and that he is 969 years old.
I don’t know if he’s messing with me or not, but he
doesn’t seem the type to kid around. Still, this is pretty hard core stuff, you
know?
9. Tenei
Star Sierra
Investigation 1:
Name: Sierra Mikain
Age: 826
From: Bistonia, Aronia
Bio: Sierra is vampire, and apparently the wife of
Nash. She joined our army to help save him during the occupation of the Crystal
Valley.
Investigation 2: Sierra is not only a vampire, she
is said to be THE vampire, the one who created the first vampires hundreds of
years ago. She was possesses by the True Rune known as Blue Moon Rune, and was
turned into a vampire who craved blood. Not wishing to harm anyone, she fled
into the forests to be away from people, living on the power of the Rune alone.
This worked for years, until others began to find their way to her ,drawn by
the power of her Rune of Compassion. They sought to end their lives, and
instead, Sierra gave them new ones as vampires, founding the Blue Moon Village.
All was well there as no one needed to drink blood with the power of the Blue
Moon Rune; that is until a vampire named Neclord stole the Blue Moon Rune,
forcing all vampires but Sierra to drink blood once more. Many choose to die
rather than kill humans, but ultimately, many did not. Sierra, devastated by
the death of her many friends, could not stand by and watch her friends become
murderers. She became a vampire hunter, and began hunting those she once called
family.
Investigation 3: The hardest kill was that of her
former lover and oldest companion, Rean Penenburg. They had been together for
hundreds of years, and Sierra couldn’t bring herself to face him at first. But
her guilt over the lives he ended finally won out, and she decided she owed it
to the man he was to kill him. She sent out with a then traveling swordsman,
Nash himself. With his help, she tracked down Rean to an old mansion, and there
had a fierce battle. Rean nearly killed Sierra, drinking her blood and stealing
most of her powers. Sierra was only able to turn the tide by drinking Nash’s
blood, and using the new found power to defeat Rean.
Her second most notable kill was that of Neclord
himself. She teamed up with Riou, the leader of the Dunan forces, Viktor, who
then wielded the Star Dragon Sword, and the vampire hunter Kahn, in order to
slay the renegade vampire and reclaim her Rune. She then decided to help the
Dunan forces as thanks, for really, she had nowhere else to go.
Investigation 4: After the war ended, she began
wondering. She couldn’t reform the village, afraid to make another vampire. She
also had no leads of any other vampires at the time. So she wandered. Along the
way, she met up with Nash again, and the two became traveling companions. Both
of them outcasts from their homes, they formed a quick friendship, that bloomed
into something more. A heated argument on Sierra’s safety in battle became a
passionate kiss, and their love only grew from there. The two were soon married
in Sierra’s old home of Blue Moon Village, in the hopes that the spirits of her
friends could somehow be present. Officially wed, they continue to travel wherever
the road brings them.

Star Xavier (Elf leader) Town
Mayor
Investigation 1:
Name: Xavier Matthews
Age: 670
From: Sanil, Harmonia
Bio: Xavier is the leader of the Harmonian elves. He
joined our army officially when we proved our strength by defeating the
basilisk of the Forest Temple.
Investigation 2: Xavier is over 600 years old, and
an elder even by elf life spans. He is old enough to remember the invasion of
Harmonia which took over his village and people, at the cost of many Elvin
lives. As Xavier tells me, Sanil Village used to have a counterpart, a sister
city to the west. But after the war, the population was so dwindled, the city
was abandoned for the more secure Sanil village. The Forest Temple is a ruin of
the old city, now overrun with monsters. The current state of the elves is a
travesty to someone like him, who remembers the glory days before Harmonia.
While he didn’t think we had a chance at first, he is glad to have a chance to
fight Harmonia, at least once more in his lifetime.
Investigation 3: being one of the oldest people I’ve
ever investigated, I asked Xavier about the days before Harmonia. He told me
many stories of old Aronia, of how the people there respected non humans and
traded with the elves freely. And get this; Xavier has actually met some of the
Sindar! Yet, he refused to describe them for me, saying ‘some things are best
forgotten.’ I can’t say I agree with that, but it’s not like I can make him
talk.
Anyway, the point is Xavier is old, and knows more
of ancient History than anyone I’ve spoken too. His history is too immense for
me to report on fully, but he says he had a good life growing up, with his
parents and siblings. Then came the Harmonia invasion, and of his family, only
Xavier survived. He became a soldier then, as everyone was needed in those
times. As he grew older, he became involved in politics, and eventually became
mayor. That’s the short of it.
Investigation 4: Did you know? Dwarfs and elves in
Harmonia have a significantly longer life span than their non Harmonia
brethren. When asked about it, Xavier stops his rambling, and says “some things
are best kept secret.” I tried looking into it more, but no one is talking, and
I can’t get access to most elfin records, being human and all. There’s
something fishy going on here, but there’s no way for me to find out at this
time. I guess it will stay secret for now, but one day, I will find a way to
crack this case…
((Secret: Elves had two ‘immortality stones’ that
they put into the wells of their two cities. With the other city gone, they
gave it to the dwarves in exchange for their technology to aid in their
defense.))

Star Cyrus (Dwarf Leader)
Investigation 1:
Name: Cyrus Bloodbeard
Age: 478
From: Snowview, Harmonia
Bio: Cyrus is the leader of the dwarves. He
officially joined our army after we rescued the kobolds from Felicia, showing
our army cared about non humans.
Investigation 2: Cyrus is a wise old dwarf, having
studied just about everything at one time in his 400+ years. From combat to
medicine, from alcohol to war strategy, from politics to pick pocketing, he’s
done it all. If you take him as your partner, he can help you with, well,
anything.
This well roundedness is what makes him so respected
a leader. He became the elder as everyone went to him for answers, as no matter
the question he always had an answer. And being from a people that respects
intelligence above all else, this was enough to make him elder, a position he
has held for nearly 300 years! Talk about a track record.
Investigation 3: Cyrus is very proud of his son,
Mitch, one of the village’s best inventors. Cyrus has a degree in science, but
never had the ‘inventor’s touch’ as he calls it. Mitch though, does.
In fact, most of Cyrus’ family does, or at least,
did. Cyrus’ wife did, but she died in childbirth, giving birth to Mitch. Cyrus’
two brothers did too, but they died in one of their…less successful
experiments. Cyrus’ parents did too, but they’ve passed from natural causes.
Mitch is all he has left. He’s hard on the boy, but that’s how he shows his
love.
Investigation 4: Did you know? Dwarfs and elves in
Harmonia have a significantly longer life span than their non Harmonia
brethren. When asked about it, Cyrus’ hand went to his ax, and said “you best
stop asking questions, if ye know what is good for you.”
With THAT source cut short, I tried looking into it
more elsewhere, and got similar results. I can’t even get access to most dwarf records,
being human and all. There’s something fishy going on here, but there’s no way
for me to find out at this time. I guess it will stay secret for now, but one
day, I will find a way to crack this case…
((Secret: Elves had two ‘immortality stones’ that
they put into the wells of their two cities. With the other city gone, they
gave it to the dwarves in exchange for their technology to aid in their
defense.))
12. Tenman
Star Nathan
Investigation one:
Name: Nathan Jones
Age 29
From: Lindenmill, Harmonia
Bio: Nathan's a tough one to crack. He's been in the Orbel Prison mining camp since he was 11, more than half his life. It's why he knows the guards so well and was made foreman. Still, before that is a mystery. Just why was he in there, anyway?
Investigation two:
I'm still working on Nathan. I've talked to some of the guards though, and found out he has history there. Since he was imprisoned so young, they took pity on him, and raised him as a sort of mascot of the mines. He was even taught swordsmanship by his captors! One guard said they owed it to him, or something. I've never heard of a prison camp training its prisoners, but there's a first for everything, I guess.
Investigation three:
Gah, this case is killing me. I'm still without a clue to his background before he entered the mines. I did find this out though; apparently, he went from being the prison's mascot to an actual prisoner when he was 19, when he helped a woman escape the mines. Nathan didn't even try to escape, and reported the crime himself! The commander at the time couldn't overlook that and revoked Nathan's privileges, having him sent to the mine proper. Still, being so well known by the guards, he quickly became foreman as you know. The woman's name? I think it was June.
Investigation four:
Pay dirt at last! Ok, listen to this: Apparently, Nathan is from a well to do first class family, see? His mother died in child birth, and his father died a hero's death fighting in Harmonia's army when Nathan was 11. The Harmonian army sent a representative to take the boy into their custody, and was planning to give him a free ride to Soledt Academy and treat him like the son of a war hero like he was. Nathan was even allowed to dine with the Order of God, the five head bishops who rule Harmonia. And get this? In the presence of everybody, from generals to reporters, Nathan spit on the Head Bishop's shoes, calling them murdered and thieves for stealing his father away from him. To make matters worse, he attacked one of them with a kitchen knife. That didn't fly well, as you could imagine. They couldn't kill the boy in front of the reporters, so they quietly made him disappear. Talk about your raw deal.
13. Tenko
Star Viktor
Investigation 1:
Name: Viktor “The Bear” Steel
Age: 54
From: North Window, Dunan Republic
Bio: Viktor is the father of our Daisy. She rescued
him from Sorrowyn Prison, and he joined up eagerly.
Investigation 2: Viktor has an incredible past to
him. He comes from a large family in North Window. A family he lived to see
massacred by the vampire Neclord. Viktor survived as he was out buying medicine
for his mother at South Window. Viktor tried to fight Neclord, but was defeated
in battle, and nearly died. He was rescued by fisherman from Kuskus, who nursed
him back to health. Afterwards, he sent on a journey to become a fighter strong
enough to kill Neclord. Along the way, he ended up fighting in both the Toran
Gate Rune Wars, and the Dunan Unification War, to help out friends he had made.
But his greatest find was the Star Dragon Sword, a weapon that could kill
Neclord. With it, he went to do battle with the vampire. And with the help of
Kahn the vampire hunter, Riou of the Dunan Army, and Sierra the coven mistress,
they were able to finally kill Neclord once and for all. With his family
avenged, he continued to travel as a mercenary with his friends, Flik and
Humphrey.
Investigation 3: Viktor values friends and family
highly, possibly higher than anything. He has risked life and death time and
again for his friends. Odessa and Flik or Toran, Annabelle of Muse, and his
daughter… I think it stems from losing all of his friends and family in the
North Window Massacre. He’s so afraid of losing people close to him again, he
holds them close to his heart and protects them with everything he has. It’s
why he’s so angry to find out there are assassins after his daughter. I don’t
know who is dumb enough to mess with Daisy, but they are going to learn messing
with Viktor the bear if he has his say in it.
Speaking of Daisy, I looked into her birth. Daisy’s
mother was a high rankling noble from old Highland named Rose. She was the
first cousin of the famous Luca Blight, the so called mad wolf of Highland.
That make’s Daisy his niece! Scary thought. They were never married, but had a
brief romance after the Dunan unification war. Viktor had stuck around putting
down minor insurgents when he came across Rose’s brother as a rebel leader. He
was going to kill him, but Rose pleaded for her brother’s life. Viktor agreed,
on the condition of a date. She detested him at first, but they soon grew to
care for each other.
Investigation 4: Daisy was born one year after the
Dunan Unification war. Her mother Rose had been exiled from her family to dare
have a child out of wedlock, and with a non nobleman to boot. She was sent into
the wilderness penniless, looking to find Viktor, who had gone off to put down
another minor rebellion. Along the way, she was attacked by monsters, and left
badly wounded. Viktor found her, but it was too late. They saved the baby’s
life by literally cutting open Rose as she died. Viktor hated doing it, but
Rose insisted on it as her dying wish, that Viktor take care of their child. He
swore to do so, and he took Daisy with him. He named her Daisy, as her mother
had been a delicate flower, and he had thought she would be the same. But being
raised by him alone, she grew up quite differently than he ever expected back
then. He loves her, no doubt about it, but he worries about her more than
anyone.
Over the last few years, Flik, Viktor, Humphrey, and
their three respective daughters have been traveling together, along with
Flik’s wife. They make for quite the extended family, but they make it work.
14. Tensyo
Star Hugo
Investigation 1:
Name: Hugo Kiruso
Age: 22
From: Karaya, Grasslands
Bio: Hugo is the chief of the Karaya clan, and
bearer of the True Fire Rune. With the demon threat growing, our army made a
formal alliance with them, and Hugo joined us at our castle.
Investigation 2: Hugo is the son of the old chief
Lucia, and an ‘unknown’ father. No word on who it could be, but I’ll look into
it. He lived a mostly sheltered life as a village elder, having private tutors
teaching him how to hunt and to fight, such as one Sergeant Joe. He didn’t have
to grow up until the second fire bringer war, when his village was attacked and
his best friend killed in front of his very eyes. He grew up fast then, doing
much to help the war effort, including acquiring the True Fire Rune and
rallying the villages of the grasslands around him to fight the greater
threat(s). He even managed to work with Zexen and Harmonia, both former
enemies. He was a major figure in every sense of the word, and afterwards, he was
made one of the youngest chiefs of Karaya ever.
Investigation 3: Since the war ended, he has been
focusing on repairing the damage done, from rebuilding homes to strengthening
alliances frayed by political scheming in the war. He’s done much to improve relations
in the grasslands, getting the tribes there to open up and trust each other
more. He’s single handed boosted their economy by insisting on increased
trading, for instance. Hugo is so revered in the grasslands that he was
unanimously made leader of the “United Grassland Forces” in the current the
former war with Harmonia. No one questions his judgment or his motivations,
making him perhaps the most respected leader in generations.
Investigation 4: Still, he has some issues. He’s
tried to find out more about his father, and even he admits to not knowing who
the man is. I talked to Lucia, and um…with some creative negotiating I can’t go
into, I found out the trick. Hugo has NO father.
Seriously.
Apparently, the people of Alma Kinan foresaw Hugo’s
greatness, and shared their ‘secret’ of reproducing without men with Lucia, the
first (and only) outsider to ever learn how it’s done. Lucia wouldn’t tell me
the specifics, but that’s fine by me.
His other issue is his age and appearance. He gained
the true fire rune at an early age, so despite being in his 20’s now, he still
looks like a teenager. He tries to make himself look older and taller, but he’s
had little luck. Poor kid…I mean, guy. Poor guy…
15. Tenritsu
Star Maximus
Investigation 1:
Name: Maximus Fyube
Age: 29
From: Le Buque, Harmonia/Grasslands
Bio: Maximus is the current leader of Le Buque. When
he found out his wife was with our army, he made the arrangements to join us
immediately to repay us taking care of her.
Investigation 2: Maximus is the husband of our
Pilika. They met at one at the formal ball celebrating the promotion of Rodin
Relos to the Order of God. It was Maximus’s first time at court as leader of
his people, and even though he tried to keep it cool, he couldn’t resist
flirting with Pilika. He went right up to her, this well dressed lady of the
court, and asked her to dance not knowing a thing about her. She agreed, and
the two began to dance like no one else. Both of them being party people, the
two ended up making a bit of scene at the party, but nothing a well meant
“donation” to the church couldn’t fix. The two laugh about it to this day.
They’ve been together ever since, and couldn’t be happier.
Investigation 3: Maximus is a very….eccentric
leader. He is loud, boisterous, and has no concept of personnel space. He’ll
gladly buy you a drink and chat, or punching you in the face if you say the
wrong thing.
Trust me on that one. I have the black eye to prove
it.
Still, no one, and I mean no one, has a better track
record when it comes to handling the mantors. He can communicate with them like
they spoke the same language. And for performance? Maximus is the best trainer around, turning
even so called “weak” mantors into fierce fighting machines or speedy racers. Add
in being the son of the previous leader, and Maximus was made leader upon his
father’s death. He seems well loved by his people, but I don’t get it myself…
Investigation 4: Well, I may have underestimated
Maximus. He may not be the sharpest tack, but he knows enough to know what he
doesn’t know. In other words, he has a very smart second in command who handles
the paperwork and daily running of the place, stuff Maximus gets the credit for
while his people do the actual work. He can read people as well as mantors, and
knows how to best to use them to get things done. As for himself, he does the
PR stuff, being if nothing else a great speaker and lovable. The system works,
as Maximus has been leader for several years now.

Star Clive
Investigation 1:
Name: Clive Grimm
Age: 49
From: The Tower
Bio: Clive is the Howling Voice Guild’s leader, the
head of their order. He and his guild joined our army to combat the demon
threat.
Investigation 2: … you people must seriously hate
me. I mean, seriously. You want me to investigate the fucking Guild master of
the howling Voice Guild? Do you have any idea how dangerous this is? Oy. Well,
I’ll tell you the basics I know. Clive, like nearly all Howling Voice gunners,
was born in the tower, the secret HQ of the Howling Voice guild. He underwent
some of the harshest training in the world to become a squire class gunner, and
learn the secrets of the guild. Those secrets include the use of something
called ‘gunpowder’ and ‘guns.’ The gun is the weapon he and his people carry,
much like bows, but far deadlier. Gunpowder is something you have to see to
believe. It’s this fine black powder that looks harmless on its own, but if it
catches fires, it results in an explosion most fire spells can’t even imitate!
The howling voice guild is not a group you want to mess with, and yet you have
me investigating the guild master… again I say, oy.
Investigation 3: Again with this! You really DO want me killed,
don’t you? Well, I’ve never turned down a case yet, so I’m not about to start
now. But well, considering the top secret nature of the guild, there’s not
exactly a lot I can research here. All records are sealed inside the tower, and
only members of the guild or their guests can enter, and I’m neither. Though if
you were to talk Clive as your partner and go there, you might be able to find
some nifty stuff...
Anyways, I tried following Clive, which wasn’t easy.
I did find out something though. He seems to have a romantic interest in one of
his gunners, a woman named Cathari. From what I can find out about her, she’s a
bit naïve to be a Howling Voice gunner. She’s not the hard core killer of other
members, somehow hanging onto a shrewd of humanity within the guild, something
Clive finds refreshing. Being a guild member, he can trust her with his secrets
without having to kill her.
Investigation 4: I saw THIS coming… well,
considering how hard it is to get information that would get me killed, I tried
just asking Clive about his past. What harm could it do, right? He told me this
story:
Clive was one of three graduating members of his
class (and by graduating, I mean surviving). His friends Elza and Kelly were
both quite close to him, but the guild master then was much stricter. He wanted
only one surviving student, and planned to kill Elza and Kelly. He forced Kelly
and Elza to duel for leadership of the guild, but rigged one of the guns so it
wouldn’t fire. Elza shot and killed Kelly that day. Then the guild set up Elza
to make it look like she rigged the guns, and sent Clive to kill her. He spent
years tracking her down, hunting her Toran and Dunan and all over. He
eventually found her, where she told him the truth…but not before he shot her
fatally. Elza died, and Clive was left with the burden of the truth.
Afterwards, Clive having had enough of being
manipulated, he started the guild’s first revolt. He and his fellow quire rank
gunners took over the leadership of the guild, and killed off the old guards
who had so tortured and trained the former children. Clive personally killed
the bastard who had forced the deaths of Kelly and Elza, in honor of his old friends.
With the revolt a success, Clive took over the leadership, and told the Order
of God if they didn’t like it, they could come kill him themselves.
No one tried.
Clive took over by default, and began running the
guild. He is still a strict master, but the guild’s former torture and killing
of its members for laughs is no longer allowed. He says it was the least he
could for his old friends. He then said he didn’t mind telling me this, as he
wants to make the guild more open to the public.
He also said if I dug deeper, he’d kill me.
So yea, this case? Is closed.
17. Tenan
Star Flik
Investigation 1:
Name: Flik “Blue Lightning” Cleaver
Age: 50
From: Warrior’s Village, Toran Republic
Bio: Flik is a legendary warrior from the Toran
Republic. He was rescued by our army from Sorrowyn Prison, and afterwards, he
joined our cause.
Investigation 2: Flik has a hell of a past. Hailing
from the warrior’s village, he was trained from near birth to be a warrior. He
left his village on an adventure they call “the rite of manhood” and he never
looked back. On his journey, he met the lovely Odessa Silverburg, who he fell
in love with. He joined her cause for the Liberation of Toran. Sadly, Odessa
died before the war ended, while Flik was away. Grief stricken, he fought on
anyway in her memory, fighting with the sword he had previously named “Odessa.”
The Liberation army came under new leadership of tir McDohl, and he reluctantly
followed him at first, and slowly became one of McDohl’s closest allies and
friends. Still, no one was a better friend to Flik than Viktor. When the war
ended, Viktor headed north to his hometown, and Flik went with him. There, they
became mercenaries in the Dunan unification war, eventually helping Riou to
defeat the Highland army. And that’s just for starters!
Investigation 3: Flik went on to fight in several more battles,
such as the two Higheast Rebellions, and even our own war, obviously. But
somewhere after the Dunan war, his priorities changed. Everyone assumed Flik
would be faithful to Odessa forever, and then one day he starts traveling along
with April, and calling her his daughter. When asked if he adopted her, he
replies that no, she IS his real daughter. And he even says it’s the daughter
of him and his wife. And yet, few people seem to know who her mother is. Only Flik,
Viktor, Humphrey, April, Phoebe, and Daisy seem to have even MET the woman as
far as I can tell. Who is she, what’s her name, and where is she now? I have no
answers right now, but I’ll keep looking.
Investigation 4: Ok, this is odd. I followed Flik
around, hoping to find something out about his wife. And did I ever. I followed
him to the roof of the castle one night, and found him greet a woman all in
grey, flowing robes. And by “Greet” I mean, watched him kiss her such passion,
there was no doubt this was his wife. From the descriptions you’ve given me, this
sounds a lot like the Grey lady you guys said helped save Vasuki’s life, but
then shouldn’t have Daisy recognized her? Something isn’t adding up, and I
don’t know what. The eeriest part? When I started to leave, I heard Flik call
her “Des.” And then? I saw Flik leave, but the woman never did. Is this somehow
a ghost of Odessa? Could she have married and given a birth from beyond the
grave? I don’t know, but this case officially spooked me out. I’m done with it,
and you’ll have to figure it out yourselves.
18. Tenyu
Star ROYCE (PHIL)
Investigation One:
Name: Royce Miller
From: Dragon’s Den, Toran Republic
Age: 25
Star: Tenyu
Bio: Royce is the team’s Dragon
Rider. He was captured with Daisy along with his dragon Vasuki trying to save
Daisy’s dad. He was sent to the Orbel mines, where he became one of the bearers
of the Unity Rune.
Investigation Two:
Royce can usually be found with his
dragon Vasuki, to the point that even sleeps near his dragon at night. It makes
him VERY hard to approach, I'll have you know. After calming Vasuki down for
me, I got to talk things over with Royce. He told me a bit about his
family, like the fact he is an only child and his mom and dad are both average
middle class citizens, although his grandfather was a Dragon rider back in the
day. I also learned that Vasuki could be or is one of the largest dragons
the Dragon’s Den has ever seen. I inquired how Vasuki got so big and
about Felicia, he immediately changed the subject to about the culture of the
Dragon Riders and what it was like soaring through the sky.
As I am talking with him seems kind
of distracted and not really comfortable talking about his past. I guess
I would have to go to the Dragon’s Den to find out more.
Investigation Three:
Do you have ANY idea how long a trip
to the Dragon's den takes from here?
Still, it was a worthy experience
for one who has never been there. It is spectacular place with streets and
buildings large enough for dragons to move in and out. While there, I was
able to get a meeting with Royce’s parents over a cup of tea. They
seem like nice people and tell me they get letters from Royce telling them
what’s been going on. They also told me about how Futch calls on Royce
quite often, and that afterwards Royce is gone sometimes days or months. And
then he always comes back exhausted or badly hurt. Intrigued, I decided
to go talk to Futch.
I found him and his dragon Bright at
his home and inquired about Royce. After a few drinks and a meal I found
that Royce goes on secret missions for the Den on his behalf and for Milia,
Dragon Captain of the Dragon Knights and owner of the red dragon, Thrash!
According to Futch, Royce is one of the most trusted and well relied on rider
in the entire Den. I inquired that if anyone hated Royce for his status and
regard. Futch bluntly said no. All the riders respect him and call
him friend. I inquired about Felicia and Futch stated that she was
another young up and comer that works well on behalf of the Den and is a friend
to many. Before I could ask about Vasuki’s size and how she got so large,
a runner came to get Futch to remind him of a meeting with Milia. So close, and
yet so far...
Investigation Four:
With my meeting with Futch cut
short, I decided to hit the traditional sources for information. And you know
something? I hit pay dirt in the old archives library. Turns out Royce is so
trusted as he his grandather was not only a dragon knight, but a legend!
Royce's grandfather was a man named Alexander, and he was a 3rd class dragon
knight and the appointed Vice Commander, second only to the current captain of
the Dragon Knights, Joshua. An assassin, rumored to be from Harmonia of all
places, broke into the Dragon's den to kill Joshua and steal his True Rune. The
assassin nearly succeeded, and would have too if not for the intervention of
Alexander. Joshua was able to escape the assassin's trap, but at the cost of
Alexander's life. Royce's grandfather was revered as a hero, giving his life to
defend all the dragons' of the dragon's den. When Royce declared he wanted to
be a dragon knight, he was given a free ride to the Dragon Nest Academy, the
school for learning to become a dragon knight, with no questions asked. No one
doubts Royce's commitment to the cause of the Dragon Knights, and he was given
many early opportunities based on his grandfather's legacy. When Royce began to
succeed in his own right with Vasuki, he became even more respected, the
grandson of a hero and respected warrior in his own right. There are few with
more fame and renown in the dragon's den, and with the large dragon Vasuki at
his side, Royce has a bright future ahead of him at the Dragon's Den. Despite
his young age, there are already rumors of him becoming a Vice Captain like his
grandfather, or even higher!
19. Tenku
Star VASUKI (DRAGON)
Investigation 1:
Name: Vasuki
Age: 19
From: Dragon’s Den, Toran Republic
Bio: Vasuk is the dragon partner of the Dragon
Knight Royce. She was captured with him when Felicia used her Conquerer rune to
turn Vasuki against Royce. Sent to Orbel, she met up with your team and became
a bearer or the Unity Rune.
Investigation 2: Vasuki is BIG. I mean HUGE, even
for dragons. It’s the most prominent feature, and most terrifying. But despite
her fearful size, Vasuki can be quite gentle and approachable. I’ve seen her
hang out with several animals around the castle. And kids? The kids LOVE
Vasuki, thinking she is the coolest thing they have seen. It just goes to show
you that you can’t judge a book by its cover. Even if that cover is big enough
to chew you up and spit you out without flinching…
Investigation 3: Vasuki is the envy of almost every
dragon knight in the entire dragon’s den. Royce and Vasuki have become a near
legendary partnership there, getting more missions than any other dragon
knight. And with missions being the key to advancement, Royce has risen through
the ranks quite rapidly with Vasuki’s help.
One time during a training exercise early on in
their career, Royce made a critical mistake in underestimating an opponent.
Royce nearly lost the match, but Vasuki’s sheer power fought overwhelming odds
of three dragons at once, and won the skirmish for Royce, and turned the battle
to Royce’s side in the same move. Royce was chewed out for falling for the
trap, but Vasuki was commended. If it had been a real battle, Vasuki would have
saved Royce’s life by sheer will power. The two just really work well together,
covering for each other as only true friends and partners can.
Investigation 4: Well, I checked around, and I think
I know why Vasuki is so BIG. Apparently, there is a tattoo of the Dragon Rune
on the back of Vasuki’s neck, having been there since the day she was born. And
while she was an egg, Milia’s Dragon Rune apparently flared up, flashing the
egg in its light. I don’t think that’s a coincidence, folks. I think the
‘living intelligence’ of the Dragon Rune knew Vasuki was destined for great
things, and lent her some of its power. I’m no expert, of course, but that
makes as much sense as anything to me.
It’s no wonder they keep it secret though. If people
knew a dragon egg had been chosen by the Dragon Rune, there would have been a
lot of fighting over the egg and thus, the dragon. And yet, Milia chose Royce
as the first candidate to try to be Vasuki’s partner, and it worked well. I
wonder why Milia chose Royce though? What connection does he have to have been
given such an honor? I might need to look into this further…

Star Nash
Investigation 1:
Name: Nash Latkje
Age: 44
From: Crystal Valley, Harmonia
Bio: Nash is a mysterious traveler who just happens
to show up when needed. He joined our army after rescuing Sasari from Camaro’s
demon army.
Investigation 2: Nash is the nephew of our Lena
Suphina. She told me a lot about him, in her words, “hoping it will do Nash
some good.” From what she tells me, Nash is the last of the Latkje family, a
once prominent first class family of Harmonia. He grew up loved by his parents
and sister, and had everything a kid could want. As he grew older, his parents
wanted him to learn to fight and defend himself, and paid to have him sent to
the Howling Voice guild for some EXTREME training. After only two years Nash
was one of the most proficient killers in the land.
Still, it did little to help those who mattered to
him the most. His parents were killed by a Howling Voice assassin by the name
of Zaj, who killed them and tried to marry Nash’s sister, in order to take
control of the Latkje fortune. Nash uncovered the plot, and fought Zaj,
supposedly to the death. Still, Zaj survived, and resurfaced to fight Nash
again and again. Nash finally did kill Zaj, but the damage was done. His
parents were dead, his sister was in Harmonia custody suffering mental trauma
from having her brother and fiancé fight (on their wedding day, of all times),
and Nash was exiled for killing a Harmonian officer. Lena asked him to stay in
Harmonia, but he left to places unknown.
Investigation 3: With nowhere to go, Nash became the
wanderer he is today. He’s worked for Dunan, the Grasslands, and even for
Harmonia under an assumed name. He’s helped many people in his travels, from
helping save Lorelei from a Sindar trap in Falena, helped Humphrey and Futch
with a dragon in Harmonia, and helped Sierra hunt vampires. He’s skilled, to
say the least. He wields so many weapons, from a sleeve blade to a thing called
“gunpowder” used by the Howling Voice guild. Yet his most powerful weapon is
the Double Snake Sword called Grosser Fluss. This blade increases Nash’s
strength and speed to super human levels, but it comes with a curse; when using
the blade, Nash can’t distinguish from friend or foe. It’s a weapon of last
resorts, but it’s certainly powerful. Nash is said to have fought many powerful
warriors using this blade, even having taken on two Highland generals, Culgan
and Seed, on at the same time.
Like I said, he’s been nearly everywhere, and done a
bit of everything.
Investigation 4: In recent years, Nash has been
traveling with his new wife, Sierra, officially hunting vampires. The two met
years ago, and Nash helped Sierra kill a very old and powerful vampire named
Rean. They parted ways then, but met again in Dunan. Both outcasts, they began
traveling together, and somewhere along the way, their friendship bloomed into
an unlikely romance. They dated for five years before Nash proposed to her on
the beaches of Harmonia, under a full moon. She said yes, and they were married
soon after.
Now the husband of a vampire, Nash struggles with
the question of mortality. He’s growing older, and knows death lurks around the
corner…if he stays mortal. He wrestles with the question of asking Sierra to make
him a vampire, knowing it would be hard for her. Still, with her Blue Moon
Rune, neither would have to drink blood, and they could stay together seemingly
forever. Talking to Nash, you can tell he is undecided, not sure what is he is
afraid of more, losing his mortality, or losing Sierra to time. Only time will
tell what Nash decides to do…

Star Aila
Investigation 1:
Name: Aila Hirira
Age: 23
From: Karaya, Grasslands
Bio: Aila is a member of the Harmonia southern
Frontier Defense force’s 12 unit, led by Geddoe. She joined with our army
during the assassination attempt of Windy.
Investigation 2: Aila is from Karaya village
initially, but events during the Second fire Bringer war led her to be the
traveling companion of Geddoe and his unit. The team and she bonded, and when
the war concluded, she was offered a job with the unit as a trainee. She has
since become a full fledged member of the unit, using her skills as an archer,
tracker, and a wizard to help Geddoe and company to great success. She’s even
learned some skills at subterfuge from Ace, as no one expects a Karayan girl to
be working for the HSFDF. All in all, she has become a valued member of the
team, much to her delight.
Investigation 3: For all her skills, reading isn’t the best of
those. She learned to read as a teenager, but has never seen much use to the
skill. So she can read, she just…chooses to ignore the ability unless needed.
She’s also not very food at dating, of all things.
The girl apparently has some very high standards, from being mature to being
stronger than she is. Few guys can meet her standards, and those who do have
the arrogance to back up those skills, turning her off. I think the kid needs
to relax, but what do I know?
Investigation 4: Aila has a soft spot for food and
drink, especially soda of all things. Having lived on only what she herself
could hunt for all of her childhood, findings things like cake, ice cream,
soda, spices… it’s been a whole new world for her. She has to try every new
restaurant she can find, and gives them all ratings. Her notebook of ratings
was once let at a restaurant by mistake, and get this? The guy who found it
published it! Because of her strict yet fair grading policy, Aila’s ratings
have become a sort of tool to judge restaurants by, making her one of the
foremost food critiques in the Caleria region!

Star Wayne (Kobold leader) Beastly Fighter
Investigation 1:
Name: Wayne Barons
Age: 47
From: Highcrest, Harmonia
Bio: Wayne is the leader of the Harmonia Kobolds. He
joined us after you saved his people from Felicia’s control.
Investigation 2: Wayne is an amazing fighter, taking
proud in the power of kobolds. Dwarfs may be smarter, elves faster, humans may
be craftier and wingers can fly… but none of them hold a candle to the pure
power of a kobold. No race can lift as much per pound per muscle, and no race
can hope to have the endurance they show. I’ve witnessed some of their training
regiments, and Harmonia wishes they could be this tough. And Wayne? He’s the
toughest of them all. Smart, too. He isn’t the leader for nothing, you know.
Kobold leaders are chosen by battle, last kobold standing wins it all. Wayne
defeated his opponent using both strength of body and mind. His opponent,
Gordie, was so heavily armored from head to toe, Wayne couldn’t penetrate his
defenses. So Wayne wore him out by playing it defensively, making Gordie work
for each blow. The match lasted 9 hours, and by then, Wayne was cut and bruised
from head to toe. But Gordie? He fell over exhausted from wearing too much
armor, and Wayne was declared the winner.
He’s quite
the guy, let me tell you.
Investigation 3: Wayne is quite the player, if you
know what I mean. He never married or settled down, but he’s been known to have
three girlfriends at any one time. And being one of the most influential and
wealthiest kobolds, he’s never lacking for dates. He even dated Rida Wizen, the
sister of Ridley Bizen, the leader of the kobolds of Dunan. Ridley allowed it
thinking a kobold alliance would be beneficial, not knowing of Wayne’s
reputation. When Wayne dumped her, it was quite the scandal in kobold society.
Ridley came all the way from Two River to fight Wayne for his sister’s honor!
In the end, their mutual advisors convinced them fighting wouldn’t solve
anything, and the two men parted on uneasy ground.
… or so the official story goes, but when talking to
Wayne, he told me “ah, that’s what we had to tell people to avoid a scene. I
don’t mind telling a human this, but Ridley came back that night, and we fought
for hours. It was the one of the best fights of my life.”
Considering Ridley’s reputation, I believe it. As to
who won, it was apparently called a draw when morning dawned, as neither leader
wanted to be seen brawling. Talk about crazy.
Investigation 4: Besides women, Wayne has one other
addiction: Kobold Pie. He literally can’t get enough of the stuff, loving to
eat it for every meal if he could. I watched him three whole pies by himself
when talking to him about his past.
Hm? Oh, his past? Nothing too remarkable. Two
parents, still living, loved him, raised, taught him everything he knows, etc.
Many girlfriends, no siblings. Fairly standard, unremarkable stuff. After
leaving school, he became a soldier to help his people, and went on to become
mayor, as you know. Her service record was fairly unremarkable, but he did take
out some human bandits from Harmonia who thought picking on some ‘weak non
humans’ would be easy. Wayne showed them otherwise.
Then he celebrated by eating kobold pies.
I tried a bite at his place, and I can’t tell what’s
in the stuff. It’s not…bad… but not exactly good either, at least not to me.
I’m…sort of afraid to find out what’s in them…

Star Chris
Investigation 1:
Name: Chris Lightfellow
Age: 29
From: Vinay Del Zexay, Zexen Confederacy
Bio: Chris is the leader of the Zexen Knights, and
the bearer of the True Water Rune. She joined our army to stop the demon threat
posed by Windy.
Investigation 2: Chris is the leader of the Zexen
knights, and one of the country’s biggest heroes. From a young age she was
raised to become a knight, and well, she has succeeded far more than any could
ever have guessed. She is true knight too, believing in the virtues of truth,
justice, chivalry, and honor.
But she is human, too. Sometimes, she just loses her
cool. The most embarrassing incident she will never let down is her throwing
wine and chairs at our own Lilly Pendragon at Zexen’s 50th
anniversary ball. The two just couldn’t stand each other at first, but have
since become good friends.
Investigation 3: Chris is a consummate warrior. She
can’t sing worth a damn and her cooking is terrible, but give this girl a sword
and you better watch out! On top of that, her battle tactics are well known.
She was a principal player in the second fire bringer war, leading her knights
against the destroyers, and acquiring the True Water Rune in the process. She
also served in the Zexen – Tinto war, facing off against her good friend
Lilly’s father in the process. She hated to do it, but orders are orders, as
she says. Lilly was mad at her for quite a while for that. Who knows if they
have made up?
Investigation 4: Despite being a knight of Zexen,
Chris is quite fascinated by the grasslands. She saves up all her vacation time
at work for a month off every year, and spends that time traveling the
grasslands, learning more of its peoples and customs. This custom started for
her after she visited the hometown of Sciath, Alma Kinan. Apparently something
happened there that Chris won’t talk about. Her friend Yun died there to defend
the grasslands, but she won’t go into the details of how she died. She asked me
to leave it at that, and well, considering how she looked, I’m going to honor
her request. But because of Yun’s death, she continues to visit the lands Yun
died to save, wanting to remember that the people of the grasslands are people
too.

Star Juliet
Investigation 1:
Name: Juliet Hights?
Age: 38
From: Crystal
Valley?
Bio: Juliet is said to be a noble from ‘somewhere’
but isn’t saying where. She’d in hiding, presumably. She joined our army after
the massacre at the Crystal Valley, where she was rescued by our forces with
the promise of safety.
Investigation 2: Juliet’s life in Harmonia was very…bland.
Peaceful is a better world for it, I suppose. She and Patricia spend most of
their time reading books, practicing magic, and other such ‘scholarly’ pass
times. When talking to her about her studies, I said she was quite good at
magic, and she replied “I should be, as I’ve been studding it for over 20 years
now.” She stopped herself there, and I think she let out more than she
intended. I’ll keep on this case, see what comes up.
Investigation 3: Well, I’m still trying to dig out her past,
and Juliet’s slip was right; records of her don’t show up in Crystal Valley
until 23 years ago.
Studying these records, I can tell you a few things.
Juliet’s husband died many years ago, before they came to Harmonia. For those
who don’t like math, that would mean she was married at 15 or younger, typical
for an arranged marriage for royalty. Still, even considering that, Patricia is
too old to be her biological child. I confronted Patricia about it, and she
told me that “Ok, fine, she’s not my biological mother, but that has to be a
secret, ok? We’ve worked really hard on our cover, and we’d lose everything if
the truth gets out.”
The pieces are falling into place, though I don’t
like the picture I’m seeing. I mean, a royal refugee from 23 years ago with an
adopted daughter? There’s one name that fits, but she’s supposed to be dead…
Investigation 4: Wow. Ok, I had to do some leg work
on this one, but I have my confirmation.
Are you ready for this? Juliet’s real name is none
other than Jilia Blight, the supposed dead daughter of the Blight family!
Shocking, I know. But that time frame and age fit
her, as does her physical appearance. Still, I needed more than that, so I went
to Highland and dug around. It took some bribes, but I finally tracked down the
soldier who drove the chariot which took Jilia to Harmonia from Highland. A
former royal guard, he confirmed for me that her death 23 years ago was faked.
Afterwards, King Jowy Blight had her escape to Highland under a new name with a
war orphan they had adopted named Pilika, now known as Patricia.
It’s no wonder they wished to stay hidden. If this
were to get out, there would be a lot of people who would want her dead, and
more who would want her to lead a new Higheast Rebellion. Her quiet life of
solitude makes more sense, if you know the back story. She’s never remarried,
clinging to a memory of a man she knew years ago, and she doesn’t socialize
here in Harmonia as she’s likely still stuck in the past. How could she not be,
when she is still so afraid of being discovered? She may have a new life, but
her old one still haunts her still.
Now that you know, what do you intend to do with
this information?
25. Tentai
Star Patricia
Investigation 1:
Name:
Patricia Fybue?
Age: 28
From: Crystal Valley?
Bio: Patricia is a WELL known citizen of Harmonia,
one that was rescued by our army after the massacre at Crystal Valley.
Investigation 2: For those in the upper crust of
Harmonian society, Patricia is a celebrity. With brains, beauty, money and good
social standing, she is a hit at the many parties she attends. She’s a social
butterfly this one, able to make most anyone at ease. That is most anyone but
her own mother anyway, who worried about her constantly.
From what Juliet tells me, she wasn’t always this
way. She taught Patricia much in the way of home schooling, making sure she was
a highly educated lady. She can read, write, sing, dance, knows her history and
knows a good deal about magic, too. But where Juliet was content to live the
life of a monk, hiding out in their home, Patricia grew bold, and stepped out
into Harmonia society.
Her combination of skills, humor, and beauty, earned
her the prestigious title of “most eligible bachelorette” two years in a row.
It would have been three if she hadn’t been disqualified…
Investigation 3: Patricia was married two year ago,
to a young man named Maximus Fyube. He’s a mantor rider in Le Buque, and the
current village elder. She lives with him there mostly, but since the war with
Grasslands broke out, he asked to stay safe in the capitol with her mother.
That’s a plan that didn’t work out too well, eh? He’s out there somewhere on
the front lines, and Pilika worries about him constantly. She writes letters to
him every week, and a mantor comes to bring letters back and forth for her.
Still, there’s been no messenger for a while, which makes her fear the worst. I
wish I could help, but my hands are tied. If you ever get near Le Buque, bring
Patricia with you to look for her husband, ok?
Investigation 4: Well, I did some more digging to
her and Juliet’s past, and I can confirm this now: Patricia’s name before
Harmonia was Pilika. This doesn’t mean much, until you realize that Pilika is
the adopted child of Jilia Blight and Jowy Blight/Atriedes! That would make her
mom “Juliet” really “Jilia Blight.” Who’d a think, eh?
Originally, Pilika was a war orphan from Toto
village in Dunan. She witnessed her biological parent’s murdered at the hands
of Luca Blight, Jilia’s own brother. After their deaths, she traveled with her
‘Uncle’ Jowy for a while, who would eventually adopt her as his child. Jowy
would go on to become king of Highland by marrying Jilia, and Pilika became an
unofficial princess. When the war ended in Highland’s loss, Jilia and Pilika
were secretly moved to Harmonia by Jowy, so they would not be harmed by war any
longer. That didn’t work out so well, eh?
Still, this is huge. If word gets out who these two
really are, it could be really bad for a lot of people. What do we do with
knowledge?

Star Geddoe
Investigation 1:
Name: Geddoe Flint
Age: 119
From: Crescent Hill ((Destroyed, near where Sorrowyn
Prison is now))
Bio: Geddoe is a member of the Harmonia Southern
Frontier Defense Force, or HSFDF. He’s the leader of 12th unit. He
joined us at the Crystal Palace, during the attempt to assassinate Windy.
Investigation 2: Geddoe is a tricky case. What is
known is that he is old, and the bearer of the True Lightning Rune. His
homeland of Crescent Hill was destroyed by Harmonia, and he has wandered for
many years since. He served in both the first and second Fire Bringer Wars,
helping the flame champion each time. Lastly, he is the leader of his own unit
in the HSFDF, and has been for the last 20 years or so. That’s all that is
known, thanks to a report by a kid named Kidd. All in all, we know about 30
years of his life, out of 120. Besides the report Kidd did on him, there is no
other documentation on the man named Geddoe, nothing informative anyway.
There’s a fake birth certificate saying he is 37, and some faked documents to
enter the HSFDF, but even an amateur could tell these are faked. Then there are
Ace’s mission reports, which while many, don’t reveal much about him. I’m not
sure where to begin on this case…
Investigation 3: Following one of Kidd’s notes, I
tracked down the home of the old woman named Sana. Unfortunately, all I found
was a grave and a diary. The diary didn’t have much on Geddoe, only they he was
a good friend of the original Flame Champion, and they fought side by side for
some time.
Defeated, I tried Ace’s mission reports. Lots of
details on how good a leader Geddoe is, knowing much of tactics and strategy.
He also appears to be very humane, going out of his way to help people in need,
and donating money to charities according to the team’s tax files. It’s all
well and good, but nothing substantial, nothing on what he has done for those
missing 90 years of his life. I’ll keep looking, but don’t expect much on this
one.
Investigation 4: Like I thought, I couldn’t’ get
much of anywhere. I tried talking directly to Geddoe, and he answered in
cryptic circles. When I asked where he had been, he said “around.” When I asked
what he did, he said “live.”
I did find one rumor. It’s not much, but I’ll tell
you anyway. According to one of my sources, these is record of a one eyes
swordsman with frighteningly powerful lightning magic having helped out in the
Unification war of Qunyu, on the western continent. This could have been
Geddoe, or it could be coincidence. There’s no way to confirm it short of
torturing it out of Geddoe, and with him bearing a True Rune, I don’t see that
happening. I’ll chalk this one up as a bust.

Star April trio!
Investigation 1:
Name: April Cleaver
Age: 22
From: Gregminster, Toran Republic
Bio: April is a good friend of Daisy’s. She joined
our army when you rescued her from Sorrowyn Prison.
Investigation 2: April is the daughter of Flik and
an unknown woman, who people claim is his wife. I’ve yet to confirm this, as
there is not a thing on the mother. But for April, she is much her father’s
child, being skilled in both sword play and magic. She’s lived the life of a
traveler and mercenary nearly all of her life, from what she tells me. And
being surrounded by guys like Flik, Viktor, and Humphrey, the atmosphere was to
grow strong or be left behind somewhere ‘safe.’ And none of the three girls
wanted to be left behind. It was a sort of competition with them to see who
would be the strongest, and who would be sent home. When it came clear no one
would be sent home, the competition evolved to see who could surpass their
father first. To that end, all three continually train, but in different ways.
April is convinced magic is the key, and works on her lightning magic and chain
spell abilities, much like our own Sciath. In practice, I’ve seen April cast
seven spells in the time it takes some mages to cast a single spell! If she
keeps that up, she may win the bet yet.
Investigation 3: As far as the three ‘sisters’ go,
April is the so called “love freak” of the group, as Phoebe puts it. She
believes in the heart of an adventurer, true love, and that as long as you believe
in something, you are bound to find a way. I’d call her optimistic, but hey,
love freak works for me. Being a love freak, April is the most easily
distracted by a cute guy as she is always looking for “the one” to show up.
She’s not exactly a party girl, she’s more serious than that, but compared to
Daisy and Phoebe, she is the flirtiest of the trio. This gets her the most
dates, something the girls either love – or hate – about her. Still, love or
hate, when a guy does April wrong, Phoebe and Daisy are always there with a
shoulder to cry on and ice cream if needed. Or better yet, they like pounding
the guy into submission for her. What are friends for?
Investigation 4: I tried looking into April’s
mother, but as I said before, there is NOTHING on this lady. She could be a
ghost for all I know. April talks very fondly of her mom, saying she is very
pretty woman named Des. That’s it. How am I supposed to find a ‘pretty woman’
with nothing to go on?
Anywho, the two are close, even if her mom does a
lot of traveling away from the girls. While April wouldn’t say so in so many
words, I get the feeling her mom is some kind of spy, from the way her work is
so classified, and is always on the move. Now that she is older, her mom is
away for months as a time, doing who knows what. I know she’s a great cook, at
least according to April. She has a lot of fond memories of her mom and her
paying to rent the kitchen of an inn for a night, and baking up a storm. They’d
make cookies and brownies and other goods they could take with them on the
road, and eat at leisure. To be honest, it makes me glad to hear these girls
have some NORMAL childhood memories, outside of battle. I was starting to get
worried, you know?
Other than that, I don’t know. Maybe Flik knows
something…
28. Tenhei
Star Ace
Investigation 1:
Name: Ace Bison
Age: 42
From: Vinay Del Zexay, Zexen Confederacy
Bio: Ace is a member of the Harmonia Southern
Frontier Defense Force, or HSFDF. He’s a member of Geddoe’s 12th
unit. He joined us at the Crystal Palace, during the attempt to assassinate
Windy.
Investigation 2: Ace is the team’s accountant and
paper pusher, doing all the filing and paperwork no one else wants to do. He
doesn’t like that role, and complains. Still, don’t let that fool you. Besides
being a clerk, he is also a well trained fighter and spy. He does a lot of
infiltration work, and has contacts the world over from her mercenary days. He
acts care free and laid back, but he’s not one to be underestimated. He’s
lethal when he puts his mind to it, and with his skills, you’ll never see it
coming.
Investigation 3: Ace worked as a mercenary for a
number of years before joining the HSFDF. Of note, he worked For Jowstone in
the war against Toran, fought for Dunan in the Dunan Unification war, fought
for Tinto in the Tinto/Grasslands war, and fought for Dunan in first Higheast
rebellion. It was during this last one, the rebellion, when he caught eye of
Geddoe, who offered him “a contract he couldn’t refuse” to join his unit in the
HSFDF. As amercenary, Ace makes an additional pay from Geddoe in addition to
his SDF salary, making him the highest paid member of the team; a fact no one
but him and Geddoe know about, as Ace IS the accountant, after all.
Investigation 4: When he’s not chasing woman or
fighting, Ace is a writer. He’s written a series of short stories called “Erk’s
Adventures” as well as two full novels under the pen name “Hitman Bravo.” I
took a look at his work. He’s not the greatest writer in my opinion, but he has
a certain style that catches your interest. I can see why he keeps getting the
book deals, at least. Me, I don’t like adventure stories. Give me a good
mystery any day.
Where was I? Oh right. Ace is a writer, is all I
mean to say. He’s supposedly working on his autobiography now, a tale of a
mercenary’s life. Should be interesting, I think.
29. Tenzai
Star Phoebe trio!
Investigation 1:
Name: Phoebe Mintz
Age: 22
From: Dunan Castle ((Aka, Suikoden 2 main castle,
formerly North Window)), Dunan
Bio: Phoebe is a good friend of Daisy’s. We met up
with her at Sorrowyn Prison, and she joined up during the jail break.
Investigation 2: Phoebe is the daughter of Humphrey,
the silent swordsman, and a woman named Ophelia Foster. Both were soldiers in
the Dunan unification war, and afterwards Humphrey stayed on as a guard as
Dunan Castle, and Ophelia became a barmaid. They has Phoebe a year after the
war, and had a good life there for three years. But then tragedy struck.
Ophelia and Phoebe were out at picnic, when they were mugged. Ophelia still
remembered the days of being a solider, and tried to fight back, and was killed
for her efforts in front of Phoebe. Humphrey would track and kill the bandits
for their crime, but the damage was done.
After that, Humphrey and Phoebe left the castle to
travel with Flik and Viktor, and their daughters April and Daisy. It took
Phoebe a long time to open up to her new ‘sisters,” still traumatized by
watching her mother’s death. As time went on, she slowly opened up, and bonded
with her new family.
Investigation 3: She’s lived the life of a traveler
and mercenary nearly all of her life, from what she tells me. And being surrounded
by guys like Flik, Viktor, and Humphrey, the atmosphere was to grow strong or
be left behind somewhere ‘safe.’ And none of the three girls wanted to be left
behind. It was a sort of competition with them to see who would be the
strongest, and who would be sent home. When it came clear no one would be sent
home, the competition evolved to see who could surpass their father first. To
that end, all three continually train, but in different ways.
Phoebe knew she could outperform Humphrey in pure
power, so she had instead focused on speed and skill. With her sword, she can
strike an enemy four times before most enemies can even draw their blade! It’s
a tough match to see who the strongest daughter is, but I wouldn’t count Phoebe
out if the running.
Investigation 4: Of the three ‘sisters’ Phoebe is
the quiet one. She’s also the most book smart of the three, being quite
studious as a child. She knows the most about tactics and war strategy, so when
the three sisters go out on their own, it’s usually Phoebe who makes the plans
for them, and handles things like money. She is not very emotional, like her
father, and judges things by facts and logic. Sometimes called cold or
calculating for this, it’s one of the few things that get under her skin. She
doesn’t want to seem cold hearted, as she does care a lot, especially about her
family. She just doesn’t show in the way Daisy and April do. She teases April
about her number of dates, but secretly wishes to meet someone herself. It’s a
fine line to walk, but she does the best she can.
30. Tenson
Star Queen
Investigation 1:
Name: Queen Fabrey
Age: 38
From: Norbank, Harmonia ((Formerly Sanady))
Bio: Queen is a member of the Harmonia Southern
Frontier Defense Force, or HSFDF. She’s a member of Geddoe’s 12th
unit. She joined us at the Crystal Palace, during the attempt to assassinate
Windy.
Investigation 2: Queen is the only woman of the 12th
unit, and is constantly working hard to prove herself. She is Geddoe’s
unofficial second in command, being skilled in diplomacy, tactics,
swordsmanship, and magic. She gives off a tough exterior, but she is really
approachable, and quite kind and sincere. She has a soft spot for kids and
pets, something she shares in common with her companion, Jacques.
Thinking of her companions, she gets along with them
well. The only one who seems to get under her skill is a woman named Elaine, in
the HSFDF’s 14th unit. They seem to be rivals, and Queen just can’t
seem to stand. I guess everyone has someone like that, eh?
Investigation 3: Despite being a consummate soldier,
she sometimes regrets the roads not taken. She often wonders what life would be
life if she gave up the military, settled down somewhere, married, had kids,
the whole nine yards. She says it’s not in the cards for her, but you can’t
help but notice the wisp in her eyes as she says so. She chose her path
already, but I can understand where she’s coming from. The road not taken
always has some appeal, and for Queen, it seems to be something she thinks
about more and more often the older she gets. She can’t keep up fighting for
ever, and one day, she will have to retire or die. And she wonders, what will
she have to show for it then? It’s a scary thought.
Investigation 4: Well, here’s something for you.
While “Queen” is her legal name these days, her original name was Quinn. She
was the daughter of THE royal family of Sanady, a country destroyed by
Harmonia. Her parents were killed to put down any chance of rebellion, and she
was snuck out of the castle by one of her parent’s retainers. She took the name
Queen to remind herself that she was the rightful Queen of the ruined Sanady,
now known as the Sanadia region of Harmonia. She’s put her past behind her far
enough to have moved on to make a life for herself, but she never forgets it.

Star DAISY (SARAH) trio!
Daisy Investigations
Investigation One:
Name: Daisy Saint-Anicet
Age: 22
From: Highland/Higheast Province,
Dunan Republic
Bio: Daisy got mixed up in all this
when she got captured with Royce a while back. She just wants to rescue her
dad. It’s really not hard to get her talking, especially when you find her at
the bar.
Investigation Two:
Give me a minute, I’m still a
little… hung over… Boy, that girl can toss ‘em back. She’s a lot like her dad
that way, or so I’ve heard. Daisy is definitely a daddy’s girl. She doesn’t
know a thing about who her mother was, so it’s just been her and her dad Viktor
the whole time, which would explain a lot. Everything she says is either about
how awesome her dad is or how she’s going to be a better warrior than him
someday, and win back his old sword, which seems to mean a lot to her. She does
talk about these girls April and Phoebe sometimes too. Gotta admit, I didn’t
think she was the kind of woman to hang out with a lot of girlfriends.
Still, these are no ordinary girlfriends: Phoebe is the daughter of Humphrey,
and April is the daughter of Flik! Those famous three friends have daughters
that all know each other, as sort of rivals. Or maybe sisters is a better term?
It makes sense, as the three of them all look up to Flik's wife as a sort of
motherly figure, the closest Daisy and Phoebe has ever had. It makes for an
interesting extended family, let me tell you!
Investigation Three:
They call Daisy’s father Viktor “the Bear”, but that title might be more appropriate for his daughter. Have you heard what happens to her sometimes in battle?! No one I’ve talked to has any explanation for the transformation, except that it might have something to do with that rune on her hand. I would say it’s a unique rune, but those who were with Daisy at the Naval Base claim that they were attacked by a group of people sporting runes very much like hers sent by someone named Octavia. Apparently it’s not the first time people like this have tried to kill Daisy, either, so we might get more chances to learn something about them. All I know is that I wouldn’t want to be the one facing down this girl when she transforms. Royce said something about feeding her strawberries?
Huh? Octavia? Not much I can say
about her, but she is someone important. I looked her up, and found record of
her as a “Chief Shaman of the Beast tribe, in Western Harmonia.” I don’t know
what that means, but Harmonia doesn’t keep records of unimportant people. The
only other information I have on this Beast tribe is it had something to do
with the Beast Rune, but I don’t know what.
Investigation Four:
That last name of hers was bothering
me, and boy, for a woman who’ll tell you anything you want to know, she’s still
full of surprises. I did some digging and found that the Saint-Anicet family
was once based in Highland, or what’s now the Higheast province of the Dunan
Republic. They were Harmonian-blooded nobles through and through, hence all
that blond hair Daisy carries around. And Daisy’s mom Rosa was actually the
daughter of the head of the family, meaning that Daisy herself might actually
be related to the Blights of Highland! Who would have expected something like
that from Viktor’s daughter? The Saint-Anicets were rich and powerful in
Highland, but around the time that Daisy’s mom died under mysterious
circumstances, the whole family up and moved to Harmonia, where they kept their
roots. And in spite of the poor view of Harmonians that Daisy has formed since
she arrived, she actually wants to track down her relatives while she’s here
and find out what kind of people they are. I sure hope that girl knows what
she’s doing.

Star Katherine Love with 33
Investigation 1:
Name: Katherine Roberts
Age: 31
From: Lindenmill, Harmonia
Bio: Katherine is a wealthy merchant from
Lindenmill, and one of or army’s biggest financial supporters. She joined our
army after your team rescued her son, Sam, from some bandits.
Investigation 2: Katherine was born a second class
citizen with more money than even many first class citizens. Her family line
was all of wealthy merchants, and Katherine was trained from an early age to
run the family business. This was good in the long run, as her parents ended up
dying when she was young. She managed to keep the business running and keep her
family home thanks to her shrewd business skills. In the years since, she’s
expanded the business and has increased profits by 11%, making her one of the
most successful of her family in generations. She lived her life comfortably
and as was expected of her, until the day she met Luther.
Investigation 3: She first saw Luther as he was
chopping wood in her backyard. She was memorized by the contrast of his strong
body and the gentleness of his face. She went out to meet him, and a slow
romance began building from the moment they met. The two quickly began dating,
and that threw Katherine’s social circle into a frenzy. They stopped inviting
her to parties, cut her from clubs, and shunned her as if she had committed
some great crime. Katherine didn’t care, as Luther was worth it to her. The two
fell in love, and were married 3 years from the day they met.
Investigation 4: Katherine’s life was great. She had
a loving husband, a thriving business, and her health was good. She spent her
days with Luther, teaching him her business strategies and introducing him to
her world, or what part of was still available to her. And then the happy miracle
came, and she ended up pregnant with Sam. Katherine couldn’t be happier. She
did everything an expectant mother should, from calling doctors and eating
right. And when Sam was born, the proud parents were as happy as ever.
Katherine took out a full page ad in the local paper, letting the whole world
know her happiness. The couple now spends their time raising their son.
Katherine hopes he grows up to be as handsome as her husband, and hopes to have
a daughter to spoil sometime in the near future.

Star Luther Love with 32
Investigation 1:
Name: Luther Roberts
Age: 29
From: Lindenmill, Harmonia
Bio: Luther is Katherine’s husband. He joined our
army when we rescued their son, Sam, from some bandits.
Investigation 2: Luther is a 3rd class
citizen, and thus he is considered lower than pond scum by Harmonia
aristocrats. He was a simple man, doing misc. heavy work for the nobles who
looked down on him, until he saw Katherine passing by in a stage coah. Being a
2nd class citizen, he knew a relationship with her was doomed, but
he fell for her on sight. He began working for her manor doing chores, glad to
be helping out such a beautiful woman, even if she did look down on him, so he
thought. But the staff was much friendlier at Katherine’s place, and the pay
was better too. And when he met Katherine, she fell for him too. It was a
beautiful, impossible dream that come true.
Investigation 3: Luther and Katherine had a troubled courtship,
each taken a lot of slack for dating the other. Luther was considered a
sellout, trying to get above his station by his fellow workers. Not only did
they ostracize him, they ganged up to beat on him at least once a week. He
endured it though, as he truly loved Katherine. His parents were the only ones
who approved, and that was only because they were hoping to get a piece of
Katherine’s fortune. Disgusted at their gold digging ways, Luther distanced
himself from some of the only people that supported him, all for Katherine.
Investigation 4: Eventually, the two married. Luther
was made the man of the house, and no longer worked as a servant. Katherine
taught him business and finances, and he helped her to manage her money.
Everything was going right, and then Sam was born to make things truly perfect.
Luther couldn’t have been more proud to become a father. It made all the pain
and suffering Luther endured more than worthwhile. Now Luther spends his day
trying to raise his son to be a good man, one who doesn’t judge based on race
or class. It’s a tough job being a dad, but Luther’s shown how tough he is
already. I’m sure he will do just fine.

Star Damien (Liberation army’s Viktor) duo with 35
Investigation 1:
Name: Damien Radcliff
Age: 28
From: Prymount, Harmonia
Bio: Damien is one of the movement’s oldest members,
and worked with Pearl long before even your team showed up.
Investigation 2: Damien is a hell of a fighter,
using a two handed sword even bigger than Daisy’s. This is a guy with muscle to
spare, and he has no shame in flaunting it.
One time, to serve as a distraction, Damien went
into a bar with a ton of Harmonian soldiers and challenged the entire bar to
arm wrestle him. He offered a 100,000 potch to whoever could bring him down. He
won every fight, of course, but he also managed to break five tables slamming a
person’s hand down! THAT takes talent, let me tell you.
But I digress. The point is, Damien is the muscle of
the early liberation army, and one of its core members. When the group needed
brawn, they called on Damien to get the job done.
Investigation 3: Damien is good friends with the
other core members, Jonah, Dexter, and especially Pearl. He treats her like a
sister, teasing her about her everything about the current war, to her appearance,
to if she’s found a boyfriend yet. He treats Jonah like his wingman, and the
two often work together, being an unlikely close duo. They have totally
different skill sets, but they make it work. As for Dexter, they surprisingly
talk war strategy, almost as if Dexter were a trusted tutor or teacher. Damien
isn’t the sharpest of tacks when it comes to book smarts, but he knows much
about street smarts, and he’s taken that kind of thinking into planning war
battles. He may not know how to command an entire army, but he understands
small stuff, like commanding a unit, knowing when to charge and when to
retreat, and that kind of thing. They’re an odd kind of family these four, but
you can tell that they are a family of sorts, caring for each other in a way only
true friends can.
Investigation 4: So I looked more into his past, ok?
And it’s strikingly…unremarkable. He is the son of middle class merchants in
Prymount, far from central Harmonia or any of the current wars. They are doing
well there still, as are his two sisters, both married. The oldest is expecting
her first child any day now. There is nothing that screams ‘injustice’ or
anything, no big reason for him to be so anti-Harmonian. From what I can tell,
he ran into Pearl while she was on the run from some guards, and decided to
help a stranger in trouble. He knocked out the dozen(!) guards by himself, and
asked what she had done to get into so much trouble. She explained who she was
and her goals, and Damien signed up as it seemed like a good cause, and he
always liked betting on the underdogs in a fight. He’s since come to love those
he works with here, but it’s just so…weird to hear how he came to be here, to
me.
35. Tenkoku
Star Jonah (Liberation’s
Army Flik) duo with 34
Investigation 1:
Name: Jonah Wrex
Age: 29
From: Delon City, Harmonia
Bio: Jonah is one of the leading members of the
Union Army, and was working for Pearl long before your team was.
Investigation 2: Jonah is an incredible marksman,
one of the deadliest with a bow I’ve ever seen. From what he tells me, he grew
up hunting with his dad, who was the ‘man at arms’ for a local noble. In
translation, his dad would go on hunting trips with his lord, do all the hard
work, and the lord would take all the credit. It was a custom in the city, with
a yearly competition to find who had the best man-at-arms. Jonah’s father was
one of the best, having won five gold medals in his lord’s service.
Unfortunatly, this fame came with a price, and and a jealous noble tried to
bribe Jonah’s dad to take a fall one year. When he refused, he was killed.
Jonah’s never forgotten or forgiven the nobles of Delon. It was bad enough that
his father was a mere servant with his lord taking all of the credit and potch
from his dad’s skill, but to have his father killed for being too good of a
servant? It ate him up inside for years.
Investigation 3: After his father’s death, Jonah
left Delon, and wandered the countryside, living as a hunter. He avoided
society for many years, trying to forget his hate. He may have stayed that way
too, if society hadn’t forced its way back to his life. He was living in the
forest north of Lorin at the time, when bandits moved into his territory. He
paid them no mind, until Harmonian guards came in to capture the bandits. Jonah
was arrested too, the guards not caring for his cries of innocence. And when
they found out he wasn’t associated with the bandits, they charged him for
hunting on Harmonian soil without a proper hunting license. He served two
months in prison for not having the right paper work. This only increased his
hatred of Harmonia.
Investigation 4: While in prison, Jonah met Damien,
who had been arrested for um, public indecency. Apparently Damien had a little
too much drink, and didn’t know what he doing, but still, what a way for them
to meet. Jonah didn’t like Damien at first, but Damien kept pestering him
anyway. The two became reluctant friends, talking of their mutual hate for
Harmonia. Damien then mentioned the underground movement to bring change to
Harmonia, and THAT caught Jonah’s attention. He had tried living in society and
away from it, and both times the corruption of Harmonia had found him.
Remembering the conditions of his father, he decided to go with Damien to try
and bring about change. He met with Pearl and Dexter, and liking what he saw,
he joined up officially. With his superior bow and tracking skills, Jonah
quickly became one of the movement’s top supporters. The rest is history, as
they say.

Star Adaline (Winger leader)
Investigation 1:
Name: Adaline Crow
Age: 67
From: Wreckmar, Harmonia
Bio: Adaline is the leader of the wingers of
Wreckmar. They have recently sworn their allegiance to us, and she has joined
us at the castle as formal leader of her people.
Investigation 2: At the age of 67, Adaline is the
oldest winger in Wreckmar. It would be easy to say the short life span is
because of the poor living conditions. God knows they are the worst I’ve ever
seen. But it’s even worse than that. Wingers are often hunted by Harmonians for
sport. Apparently, having a pair of wings makes you so inhuman some people
think its ok to murder them for laughs. It’s disgusting. And the part that
burns me up the most is the hunters who wear winger feathers as sign of their
kills. If a live winger brushed their wings against them, they would likely be
disgusted, but wearing a dead winger’s feather is a sign of prestige? It’s
sickening. It’s no wonder why the wingers want to bring down Harmonia so bad.
Investigation 3: Adaline grew up like most wingers,
living on fish from the nearby sea and stealing what she needed from the city
of Witchport. She was a damn good thief, from what her people tell me. So good
in fact, that before she became an elder she was a teacher, teaching kids the
important survival skill of stealing. Yea, you read that right. Stealing from
humans is such a vital part of their community that they have a school for it.
They don’t have the luxury of teaching their people to read or write, but
stealing is a must. I said it before, but it is no wonder the wingers hate
Harmonia so much. It makes me sick to be from this country.
Investigation 4: Adaline gained the position of
elder long before she was the oldest member of the clan. She won the title when
she pulled off the biggest heist any winger has ever attempted. With three
witnesses with her, she broke into Crystal Valley’s Circle Palace, and stole an
entire set of pure silver silverware and a set of fine China Plates. No one was
any wiser for the theft. Those plates and silverware are now heirlooms of the
elder, who uses them for important meetings and dinner parties. It’s a sign
that the wingers won’t take their conditions forever, and they are willing to
strike back when they can. Adaline was appointed elder for daring to steal from
the palace itself, and has been in the position for the longest of any winger.

Star Albert Secondary strategist
Investigation 1:
Name: Albert Silverburg
Age: 31
From: Seikia, Toran Republic
Bio: Albert is a former Military strategist of
Harmonia. He recently joined our forces at Aeltion Castle.
Investigation 2: Albert is the brother of our own
Caesar Silverburg, and the son of George Silverburg. Albert personally feels
ashamed of his father, the only Silverburg not to study military tactics, as he
feels it disgraces their family’s legacy. Albert is very concerned about how
history will remember him and legacies, hoping to be like his grandfather Leon
Silverburg. Their shared philosophy is to keep casualties to a minimum by
ending wars as soon as possible, no matter the means. People like Caesar or
Maithu, who fight battles with ‘morals’ just confuse him. He doesn’t see
himself as evil, just more efficient. And yet, his war record is pretty spotty…
Investigation 3: For someone who claims to want to
keep casualties to a minimum, he has a funny way of doing it. During the second
fire bringer war, he supported Luc’s efforts to destroy the True Wind Rune, an
act that would have left tens of thousands, if not millions, dead. How does
someone who wants to minimize casualties justify THAT kind of sacrifice?
Really, I think Albert was blinded by his need to be
remembered, his legacy again. If he helped to destroy one of the True Runes, he
would be remembered forever. But it’s just a flimsy excuse to justify genocide.
I wonder if Albert realizes the hypocrisy of his actions?
Investigation 4: This is crazy. In addition to being
a strategist of Harmonia, Albert is the strategist of Qunyu, on the western
continent. Only Albert has never BEEN there. He uses the power of the one of a
kind Sounding Rune to give war and political advice to the Queen of Qunyu from
a continent away. The King has an advisor bear the Sounding Rune, and uses it
to communicate with Albert. They apparently set this arrangement up with the
King’s seer recommended Albert as the one to lead their country to a better
future. They contacted Albert, and he agreed so he could be remembered on BOTH
continents as a military genius. He’s already won one war for them, and is
helping them in a second at the moment. That’s hardcore, I tell you.

Star Lydia Theater manager
Investigation 1:
Name: Lydia Everlight
Age: 32
From: Belus, Harmonia
Bio: Lydia is a struggling actor/producer of plays.
She lives for the craft, but was out of work in this war time environment. When
you guys offered her funding for her plays, she took the opportunity to perform
again, and opened her own stage at the castle.
Investigation 2: Lydia’s acting skills are
hereditary, having both her parents be former actors from the Crystal Valley
theater district. They were big stars in their hay day, but as they grew older,
parts stopped coming in, and their income dwindled. They took a chance at
opening a theater in Belus, hoping to corner the market there, but the theater
fell through. Her parents died poor and destitute, and Lydia has wanted to redeem
her parent’s memory by succeeding where they failed. She’s tried to repair her
parent’s theater in Belus for ages, but could never afford it. It fell into
such ruin, that it eventually burned down while Lydia was away trying to
collect funds. That’s when you guys showed up, and gave her dream new hope. She
still wants to repair the Belus theater, but for now she will live earn the
money by putting on plays at Liberty Castle.
Investigation 3: Lydia managed to get by through the rough
years by some of her parents more generous sponsors, who felt bad for her after
her parents death. Some of those patrons include a retired Priest General named
Lucius, and Regina Bonds, the deceased wife of our old ‘friend’ Grant Bonds!
With their help, Lydia managed to grow up with a better than average education
than most, learning academia from Lucius and domestic skills from Regina. Add
that to her acting skills, and Lydia is really a well rounded individual, who
could get a job in many fields if she put her mind to it. Still, she keeps her
dream of acting and theaters alive.
Investigation 4: Lydia spent about two weeks in
prison for “undermining the church’s authority” or other words, getting in
Rodin Relos’s way. Regina died, and the rumors were that Relos was responsible.
Grant tried to kill Relos, but was captured and sent to Orbel, where he met
you. But at the joke of a trial, Lydia was the only witness to try and defend
Grant. For daring to voice an opinion against the church, when Grant was
sentenced to Orbel, Lydia spent two weeks in the local prison as an example of
anyone who dares to speak up. She really resents the current political system
because of this, and was very much eager to join us.
It really tears her up though to see Grant fighting
against us for Camaro. She keeps hoping for a peaceful solution, knowing it may
never come. I feel bad for her, but we all have to choose our own path, and
Grant choose his…

Star Dalton (gruff dwarf) Armorer
Investigation 1:
Name: Dalton Ironfist
Age: 404
From: Snowview, Harmonia
Bio: Dalton is dwarf, both in appearance in race,
who sold armor in Snowview. Tired of being picked on by other dwarfs and eager
to expands his business, he opened a shop her at Liberty Castle.
Investigation 2: Dalton is so small, he is jokingly
said to be invisible. It irks him to no end, and puts him in a near constant
foul mood. He happens to be an excessively rich dwarf, but as the saying goes,
money can’t buy you happiness. He keeps living day by day, looking for
something that can put an end to his foul mood. He’s hoping that a change of
scene will do him some good, which motivated his decision to come to our
Castle.
Investigation 3: Our man Dalton has only two good friends, his
partner Achilles, and our own Mitch. Mitch and he have worked together on many
an experiment, as Dalton is an accomplished armor smith in an addition to a
shop keeper. The two became friends when Mitch sought out Dalton’s help years ago,
and refused to be put off by Dalton’s rough attitude. Dalton will never admit
how dear Mitch is to him, but the two have a silent understanding between them.
As for Achilles, he’s Dalton’s nephew. Achilles
could never stand his parents, and found Dalton’s company slightly more
tolerable than theirs. He kept hanging out at his Uncle’s as a need, until they
realized they shared a common interest in armor, and became actual friends as
well as family.
Investigation 4: Here’s something for you. The armor
Dalton used to make was one of a kind, as it uses the life essence of the user
to make it customized to them specifically. He stopped making armor as so few
people were willing to pay the price it took to make his special style of
armor. If you were willing to pay the price of (5 levels worth of HP; varied by
user) Dalton could make you a customized piece of armor better than any shop
could ever sell you. The question is, are you willing to pay the price?

Star Jeane Rune Master
Investigation 1:
Name: Jeane Russel?
Age: 26???
From: Witchport, Harmonia?
Bio: Jeane is a runemaster from Witchport, and a
good friend of Faye’s. She joined us when she learned Faye was working for us.
Investigation 2: This is an odd case, one of I’ve
worked before. The Order of God hired me to investigate her years ago, and she
hasn’t aged a day since then. I couldn’t find a thing on her then either, but
I’ll tell you what I do know.
On the surface, Jeane’s paper work checks out as a
normal, everyday runemaster, born and raised in Harmonia. But to the keen eye,
it’s clear her birth certificate and what not are all forged. I tried asking
about her in Witchport, and everyone remembers Jeane having been there for
“years” but not knowing where she grew up, or when she opened her shop
exactly. And weirder still? NO ONE found
that strange. I’ve never seen anything like it. It freaks me out, I tell you.
Investigation 3: This again? I told you, I’ve given up on this
case. Still, I’ll read you some of my notes from before…
This lady is GOOD at covering her tracks. I
suspected magic was at play in her tracks being covered so well at Witchport,
so I called in some favors and sent two of my fellow detectives to check her
out, and they both came back fully melted by Jeane’s charms. It’s like I
feared, this lady has magic up the wazoo, and is hiding something. What, I
can’t be sure. Anyone who seems to question her seems to wind up under her
spell, which explains why no one in Witchport found it strange she just was
always there. I can’t investigate her past, and I can’t question her directly… what
to do…
Investigation 4: You guys just don’t get it, do you?
Investigating this lady is akin to a death sentence, and you don’t pay me
enough to risk that.
Sigh. Fine, I can tell you that her friend, Faye? I
think whatever secret Jeane has, Faye is either in on it, or IS part of it.
They both have similar shady pasts and forged certificates, both seem to be
powerful spell casters, both are known to use a Charm Rune, and both are
stunningly beautiful. There is a connection to be found here, but whatever the
secret is, it’s going to stay secret.

Star Janell
Investigation 1:
Name: Janell Fei
Age: 35
From: Shogomon, Camaro
Bio: Janell is a General of Camaro. She was captured
by our forces at Orden, and surrendered.
Investigation 2: Janell
is from a small fishing village in Camaro, called Shogomon. It wasn’t an easy
life for her there, as she’s allergic to fish. Her family had to buy the more
expensive meats from travelers if they wanted something other than fruits and
veggies. Not wanting to be a burden to her family, Janell grew up learning how
to hunt, and began hunting for her own food at a young age. Her skill with a
bow was amazing, or so I’m told. As she grew ole ended there, she was
approached for a job as a town guard, which she accepted. Her story might have
ended there, except for a fateful encounter…
Investigation 3: One
night, Janell was one of the few guards doing a night shift for the town. She
spotted someone approaching without a light, and called out for the traveler to
identify himself. He didn’t, and Janell fired a warning shot; this shot went
over 100 feet away, in the dark, and made a perfect shot to tear the traveler’s
belt without harming him. His sword sheath fell to the ground, along with his pants,
to which he only laughed. He identified himself as General Gregory then, and
was allowed entry. Gregory was so impressed by her shot, he asked to meet the
guard who could make such a move. He met with Janell, and impressed by her
skills, asked her to come to the capitol with him. It was hard to leave her
family behind, but she had dreamed of traveling one day, and saw this as a
perfect chance to do so. She accepted, and became an archery captain under
Gregory. The two quickly became friends as they worked together, and Janell
climbed the ranks under Gregory. Under his instruction, she took up military
strategy as well. Soon, she was Gregory’s second in command. And when the old
generals retired, Janell was promoted to General as well, becoming equal in
rank to Gregory. The two remain friends, and work well together.
Investigation 4:
Recently, Janell’s career had taken a hit, as she opposed the use of demons in
the war. The Queen threatened to demote her, but Gregory stood up for her and
also opposed the plan. She was removed from the front lines, and ordered to
focus on defense with her human troops. She didn’t like it, but she obeyed. She
loves her country, and she was very reluctant to join in fear of having to
fight her old friends and homeland. Still when she learned of Yuber’s turning
people into demons, she knew she had to do whatever it took to stop such evil.
She’s a good person, she is.
Still, she worries
about her family in this war. If you ever head to Shogomon, you might want to
take her with you. I’m just saying.
42. Chii Star Fred Maximilian
knight
Investigation 1:
Name: Fred Maximillion
Age: 30
From: Gregminster, Toran Republic
Bio: Fred is the leader of the Maximillian Knights.
He joined our army to help us fight the demon army.
Investigation 2:
Fred is the leader of the Maximillian knights, an order of knights that
number about 110 now. They used to number over 700 in Fred’s grandfather’s day,
but after his death the membership plummeted. For a while, it was only Fred and
Rico. But Fred has slowly rebuilt the
membership, piece by piece. He seeks out the best, the strongest, and most
importantly, the honorable. They may be small, but those who make the cut are a
cut above the rest.
Investigation 3: Fred reveres the ‘knights of old’
as he calls them. He values honor above all else, and considers his Grandfather
to be one of the greatest knights of all time. He reveres the man, and loves to
meet those who once knew him. It is his wish to one day to be remembered to
have founded a new order of the Maximillian knights, a group dedicated to the
ideals of Honor. All this in the name of a man he – get this – only met once.
Talk about your life changing meetings. What could they have talked about to
have so impacted Fred?
Investigation 4: Fred’s sword is older than most
governments; the metal is over 500 years old, forged and reformed time after
time. In his one meeting with his grandfather, Maximillian gave Fred this
heirloom sword, telling him to always honor the way of the sword, and to follow
the code of a knight. Fred took the sword, and swore on it to become a knight,
like his ancestors. With a legacy like that, I can see what motivates him to succeed.
43. Chiei
Star Rico Maximilian squire
Investigation 1:
Name: Rico Von Greiser
Age: 21
From: Gregminster, Toran Republic
Bio: Rico is the finance officer of the Maximillian
Knights. She joined our army with Fred, who came to help our army against the
demon army.
Investigation 2: Rico’s family has served the
Maxmillian family for five generations. Initially they were only butlers, but
when the Maximillian knights were formed, they became squires in addition to
butlers. It’s not an easy life, but Rico is determined to fulfill her duties.
Investigation 3: She won’t admit it, but Rico wishes
she were able to be an official knight and fight alongside Fred. Thing is,
she’s much too afraid of fighting to even try. So instead of training, she sits
back and daydreams, imaging glory while shining a medal Fred gave her. If she
could overcome her fears, she might just be one of the most dedicated knights
the order has ever seen.
Investigation 4: Rico is in charge of finances, but
to be honest, she is terrible with numbers. Fred and Rico have run into many
problems on their adventure when Rico has miscalculated their funds. They’ve
had to spend many a night camping out as Rico didn’t save enough money for a
hotel AND food. Rico feels terrible about it. She tries her best, but she’s a
butler, not a knight, and certainly no accountant.

Star Isis (Lesbian with Tina) pretty ‘boy’ duo (camus/alen)
Investigation 1:
Name: Isis Montague
Age: 28
From: Lorview, Harmonia
Bio: Isis is
a former Priest Colonel of Harmonia, stationed at Northgate Castle. When the
demon army threatened the people there, she and her partner Tina surrendered to
the Union army in order to better fight against the demons.
Investigation 2: Isis is known as the “Water Lily of
Lorview” where she grew up. Proficient in mainly water and secondarily in Earth
magic, many often think of her as a ‘defensive’ military commander. Nothing
could be farther from the truth. She uses her skills to heal, sure, but her
main use of magic is offensive in nature, freezing the blood of her enemies and
burying them in the unforgiving earth. She is cool and calculating, and
sometimes people mistake that for cruel and cold. It’s something that irks
here, as she doesn’t like being thought of as frigid.
But not to be forgotten, she is not a wizard in the
traditional sense. Skilled in riding, she is a front line cavalry commander,
and skilled with a sword. If you had to classify her, she would be an “Adept.” Don’t
let her appearance fool you, as she is one tough act to follow.
Investigation 3: Isis joined the priesthood at a
young age. 14 to be precise, the youngest allowed… which is something not very
common. There’s a secret to be had
there, as soon as I ask her about it, she clams up about it and changes the
subject. In fact, she avoids any talk of her past before the military, or of
her family. I’ll look into it more later.
What she did tell me is that while she excelled at
the military aspect, she found the religion to be…lacking. She never agreed
with many of the churches tenants, like the lower class people being worthless,
and has had strong sympathies for our Union army. Yet, something kept her
anchored to her position in the army. When the chance to join our army
presented itself, she took the chance with little hesitation. Talking to some
of the soldiers under her command, they speak about the change in her as
‘dramatic.’ One soldier told me that “Isis seems like a different person, like
a great burden has been lifted from her shoulders. She seems so much
more…human.”
Interesting,..
Investigation 4: Well, the pieces finally make
sense. I can now confirm my suspicious that Isis and Tina are partners in more
ways than one, if you know what I mean. It’s why Isis’s family disowned her and
sent to be raised in the church so young, for being a lesbian. It’s why she
never got along with the church, which looks down on gay relationships. It’s
why she stayed in the military, to be with Tina. It’s why she’s so much more
relaxed, as she no longer has to work so hard to hide her relationship.
I talked to Isis and Tina together, and after
hedging a bit, they confirmed it for me. They’re so used to keeping it secret, that
they were a little afraid at first, but quickly opened up. They’ve been
together for three years now, and have no plans of ever being separated. It’s
their hope that in the new country our army creates, people won’t be so
judgmental about their lifestyle. It’s hard to say, but I wish them the best.
45. Chimou
Star Tina (Lesbian with Isis) pretty ‘boy’ duo (miklotov/grenseal)
Investigation 1:
Name: Tina Capulet
Age: 27
From: Aria
Castle, Harmonia
Bio: Tina is a former Priest Colonel of Harmonia,
stationed at Northgate Castle. When the demon army threatened the people there,
she and her partner Isis surrendered to the Union army in order to better fight
against the demons.
Investigation 2: Tina is an “Adept” cavalry general,
who loves to be on the front of any battle. She strikes with lightning fast
sword strokes, and lightning blasts as well! She’s served in the army since the age of 14,
and saw action in her first year, fighting in the second fire bringer war in
the grasslands. Even though only a private at the time, she received great
recognition in battle for her effectiveness in combat. She was able to lead
several charges and retreats with her cavalry, earning her a battlefield
promotion in her first year. Her climb up the ladder continued quickly, and the
name “Tina Thunder Runner” only grew from there.
Investigation 3: Tina’s a tomboy, through and through. Even
from a young age, when other girls were playing house and planning which boy
would be their husband, Tina was out with the boys, beating them at
swordsmanship and riding. She was always down on the river by Aria, trading
tales with sailors and learning their tricks, from cheating at gambling to
lifting weights. And her appearance? Forget it. She kept her hair short and
cropped, cutting it herself with a sword she won in a bet, much to her parent’s
dismay.
When she became of age, her parents did their best
to marry her off to a respectable man who could keep her in line, but all the
boys her age feared her by that point, and all the men older than her knew of
antics against them from when she was a child. Giving up on her ever getting
married, they finally agreed to let her join the church military, and the rest
is history.
Investigation 4: Well I suspected it before, I can
now confirm than Tina and Isis are more than just friends, if you know what I
mean. The two have been dating for the last three years, almost immediately
after they were both stationed together. The attraction, according to Tina, was
instantaneous, and the two both knew at once that the other was gay. They’ve
had to keep it secret when with Harmonia, as the church officially denounces
gay relationships, not that it stops relationships from happening.
Tina’s parents are not exactly happy about their
daughter’s decision, but reluctantly tolerate it. Tina pushes their boundaries
a little each year, getting them to understand – and accept – her life a little
more each time she sees them. It’s Tina’s hope that her parents, and the rest
of Harmonia, will come to fully accept her and Isis in time. She hopes that by
fighting with us, she can help create a new country that better tolerates gay
and lesbian relationships. I wish them the best of luck, as it won’t be easy…

Star Roxie (mad decorator, odd
taste) Sculptor/Painter/Decorator
Investigation 1:
Name: Roxie
Cora
Age: 20
From: Vinay Del Zexay, Zexen confederacy
Bio: Roxie is a…eccentric decorator, skilled at
sculpting, painting, and art in general.
When Harold offered her Liberty Castle as a canvas, she eagerly accepted
a chance to show off her skills. Just keep her away from my office.
Investigation 2: Roxie is from the far off city of
Vinay Del Zexay in the Zexen Confederacy.
She was arrested there 27 times for ‘redecorating’ everything from store
fronts to public statues, even altering pieces in museums! When her muse strikes,
she can’t seem to help herself. She was tired of fighting with the local
guards, and left Vinay Del Zexay to the relief of the guards there, but not
before one act of defiance – redecorating the city prison! She ‘conveniently’
moved the keys to the prison, and didn’t tell anyone where she put them. They
had to hire a locksmith to redo the entire prison system.
No one there was sorry to see Roxie go.
Investigation 3: Roxie has been traveling for five years,
having been through the Grasslands to Dunan, and then traveled to Toran. She
went next on an ocean voyage, going from Kanakan, then Obel, then Gaien, then
Zelant, and then took a ship to the Black Dragon Isle. She then went north to
Tinto, and continued on to Harmonia. The girl’s seen a lot in her few short
years, and has left an impression everywhere she has gone. She has continually
been arrested and chased out of one country after another for her inability to
stop redecorating people and places without permission. Her greatest feat was
getting an audience with President Lepant of Toran, and giving his wife an
unwanted makeover in the royal audience room. Roxie was shown to the border
QUITE quickly after THAT, let me tell you.
I’m afraid to find out what she is going to do here…
Investigation 4: I did some sneaking, and found out
some sobering news of Roxie’s past… from Roxie’s own diary. She’s so keen on
changing the world, as the world gave up on her. Raised as an orphan, and told
she had no future, she was always picked on as an outcast. She determined to
change her fate by changing the world, one color at a time. No matter how many
times she gets in trouble, no matter how many times she gets arrested, she
refuses to let others dictate how the world is, instead deciding she will
dictate at least the part of the world that revolves around art and appearance.
She feels if she can control this one part of the world, then she can change
the future everyone laid out for her. If she can make it big, then it will show
everyone they were wrong about her.
For someone with such a happy go lucky view of the
world, she has one depressing back story. I felt so bad about reading her
diary, I actually volunteered to let her redecorate my office. It’s gone from a
plain wooden finish to white walls with classic paintings copied onto them. I
think I may have been to harsh on her art style before…

Star Serena (one legged ex adventurer) Appraiser
Investigation 1:
Name: Serena Appleton
Age: 39
From: South
Window, Dunan
Bio: Serena is a traveling appraiser, buying and
selling antiques. She was harassed by some Harmonians for only having one leg,
when your party stepped up to help her. Grateful for the assist, she agreed to
open an appraiser shop at the castle.
Investigation 2: As Serena herself said, she’s a
former adventurer. She’s traveled the
world from Falena to the Western Continent, from Kanakan to Harmonia. Her home
town is South Window in Dunan, but she’s not been there since she was 14. She’s
always loved traveling, but it’s made hard for her since she lost her leg.
She’s been seriously considering finding a place to make a home for herself,
and then you guys offered her a place to stay. She accepted as it seemed like
fate stepping in. Who knows, maybe it was?
Investigation 3: Wow, Serena’s exploits are pretty detailed.
There’s actually a book written about her by Prime Minister Marlowe of Tinto,
and that just covers the highlights of her first 10 years! She’s explored
Sindar Ruins, fought bandits and pirates galore, stopped rampaging monsters,
has slain three vampires, and served in the Ten years war in Openheimer on the
Western continent. I tried to get more details about her past from her, but all
she would say is that its ancient history she doesn’t like to remember anymore.
I guess the past is something that haunts her, considering her current state of
affairs.
Investigation 4: Well, it took some traveling, but I
managed to talk to Marlowe in Tinto. He told me he is good friends with Serena,
and she helped save his life once, years ago. He even told me how she lost her
leg. A good friend of hers, and possible lover, acquired a True Rune, the True
Wind Rune. He couldn’t control it at first, and its power was too great for
him. Serena ran to his side, trying to help, and the Rune’s magic blasted her
backwards with a lot of force. So much force, that when she her leg slammed
into a boulder, it took her leg right off and she kept flying back, minus the
leg. She nearly died that day, but her friend with the Rune finally managed to
get it under control. He was able to use some of its magic to heal her, and
saved her life. But the guilt of what he had done never left him, and he left
her one night while she was resting. She’s never seen him again. Once she was
better, she tried to resume traveling, but there was no way to continue her old
life. She settled for being an appraiser, of looking at the treasures of other
people’s adventurers, and living through them. It’s a raw deal, I tell you.
48. Chikatsu
Star Lorelei
Investigation 1:
Name: Lorelei Luckfinder
Age: 50
From: Sol Falena, Falena
Bio: Lorelei is a treasure hunter from Falena. She
joined our team at the old Sindar Ruins, our new HQ.
Investigation 2: Lorelei is a treasure hunter
hunting…something. Something from the sindar, but what is anyone’s guess at
this point. She won’t go into her past, her motivations, or her goals. Looking
into her past, her only family members are her parents, both long dead of
natural causes. All I have on her is her age and hometown from her birth
certificate. And I only have that because I recognized her accent. She’s a
mystery.
Investigation 3: Well, I’ve done some very dangerous
research into her past, talking to some of her rivals for the sindar secrets.
Not one person had a kind word to say, which tells me she is good at what she
does to have this much envy. The one other thing of interest I learned?
Whatever Lorelei is looking for isn’t money or jewels. According to her rivals,
she’s found sindar mother loads of treasure, and then passed up collecting it
as it’s not what she is looking for, apparently. But then what IS she looking
for?
Investigation 4: Well, I don’t know what she’s
looking for, I’m afraid to say. Still, I’ve got a theory. I paid off some
informants in Falena, and found the name “Lorelei” received a life insurance
payment of over a million potch, and used the money to bury a young man nearly
30 years ago. This Lorelei then disappeared without a trace. I can’t be sure
it’s her, but if it is, it could be she’s looking for something to bring back a
lost lover. It’s pure speculation on my part, but it’s the best theory I’ve
got, and Lorelei is not confirming a thing for me.

Star Zelda Gardener
Investigation 1:
Name: Zelda Milton
Age: 31
From:
Westhollow, Harmonia
Bio: Zelda
was a farm worker looking for a field of her own to plant and grow. When you offered
her just that, she took the offer up in a heartbeat.
Investigation 2: Zelda’s lived on farms her entire
life, growing crops since she can remember. To say she has a green thumb is an
understatement. Since she’s joined, she’s helped plant flower gardens all over
the castle, and tends to them all herself. She’s really spruced up the place,
and she loves to hear compliments about it. She can grow anything, so if you
find seeds, be sure to bring them to her to grow.
Investigation 3: Zelda’s mother died in childbirth. She was
raised by her father, a migrant farm worker who traveled all of Harmonia with
his little girl by his side. Moving around so much, she never had a chance to
make real friends. The only constant was the farm work, so that’s what she
focused on. When her father took ill, they went to her grandparent’s house in Westhollow
for help. Only problem was, they had died years ago, and they never knew being
on the road. Zelda never even met them. Her father couldn’t travel anymore, so
they rented a room at the inn. Zelda continued to do farm work, as her father’s
health worsened. He died one day while she was tending someone else’s fields.
With no place left to go, she just continued working to keep herself busy and
keep food in her belly. That’s when she met your team, and gave her hope and a
place of her own. She’s hoping to make Liberty Castle a real home for herself,
and finally put down roots of her own.
Investigation 4: Zelda’s really taking to life at
the castle. I’ve followed her all of this last week, and she has had a friend
or two over most every night for tea or supper. I stopped in myself to chat,
and she told me she was actually happy for the first time in years. She’s an incredibly polite hostess, but is
also relaxed, and able to be herself. She’s made good friends with Lorelei,
April, and Viki, just to name a few. If you get the chance, you should stop by
her place sometime. I’m sure she’d love the company.

Star Thrash
Investigation 1:
Name: Thrash
Age: 40
From: Dragon’s Den, Toran Republic
Bio: Thrash is Milia’s Dragon. When she joined up,
Thrash went with her without question.
Investigation 2: Thrash is a dragon. A DRAGON. You
really expect me to talk to a dragon? The best I can do is talk to Milia, who
tells me that Thrash’s red coloring and Ice breath is a rare combination. Oh,
and Thrash is a girl, in case you’re wondering. Can we leave it at that?
Investigation 3: Sigh. Again with the dragon. Well, I talked to
Milia again, and found out Thrash is a mother of two pups, named Slash and
Bright Eyes. Slash has REALLY long claws for a dragon, and Bright Eyes has a
pair of eyes that supposedly shine even in darkness. In an odd twist, Thrash’s
daughter Bright eyes is the dragon companion of Milia’s daughter, Sharon. It’s
not impossible for that to happen, but it is rare.
Investigation 4: Well, I talked to Milia again, and
she told me a story of how Thrash helped save the dragon’s den. Turns out
Thrash is highly resistant to poison and magic, to the point that most toxins
and spells don’t even affect her. This turned out to be a life saver years ago,
when a witch named Windy put all the dragons into a coma like sleep to remove
the dragon knights from the then current war. Thrash was one of the only two
dragons unaffected, and was instrumental in helping the dragon knights find a
cure to save the other dragons. For this reason, Thrash is highly respected in
her own right, aside from being the dragon of the current Captain.

Star Priest General Marcus Physical Move Tutor
Investigation 1:
Name: Marcus Aurelias
Age: 27
From: Osil Castle, Harmonia
Bio: Marcus is a former Priest General of Harmonia.
Defeated in battle, he surrendered to spare the life of his men, and well, his
own too.
Investigation 2: Marcus prides himself on his
strength. He knows war strategy, but not as good as some of the other Priest
Generals. But when it comes to brute force, Marcus is your man. His strength
has been compared to the might of Luca Blight, if you can believe it. And if
you don’t? Well, Marcus is willing to take on any challenger in battle, and
he’ll even take on your entire team on by himself to prove his superiority.
It’s said if anyone can defeat him in battle, the reward would be great. Only
thing is, no one’s ever defeated him…
Investigation 3: Marcus is the youngest to ever become a Priest
General, promoted at the age of 20. His success is due to two parts: one, the
incompetence of his commanding officer, your old friend Miles. See, Miles lost
some vital war supplies to some soldiers skimming off the top. They knew Miles
would take the fall, and were going to make a pretty profit off of his death.
An 18 year old Marcus, still a petty officer, caught on the scheme, and single
handedly defeated the corrupt guards, and retrieved the stolen goods. This act
caught the attention of Priest General Reuben, who then took Marcus under his
wing. With Reuben as a teacher, Marcus was made a Priest General less than two
years later.
Investigation 4:
You wouldn’t know it looking at him, but Marcus is a married man. Not
only that, he has 10 kids! He’s constantly sending money to his family, but
he’s not been able to see them since he joined up with our army. He misses them
greatly, not that he lets it show. If you ever get to Osil, you should let
Marcus go with you. I’m sure he’d appreciate it.
52. Chiziku
Star Priest General Reuben Magic Move Tutor
Investigation 1:
Name: Reuben
Jenkins
Age: 77
From:
Prymount, Harmonia
Bio: Reuben is a former Priest General of Harmonia.
Defeated in battle, he surrendered to spare his life and the life of his men.
Investigation 2: Reuben is a tactical genius, and is
one of Harmonia’s best strategists in the service of the faith. He studies
tactics like most men study women. He even offers the challenge: if you can
defeat him in a mock war battle, he’ll reward your party with a great reward!
Thing is, he’s only been defeated the one time we beat him, and he only surrendered
to spare his men. He’s never lost a mock battle, and he has no intention of
starting now. Only challenge him when you’re ready for the best!
Investigation 3: Reuben is one of Harmonia’s most respected
Priest Generals, known for his good temperament and fair treatment of his
troops. His long career of service, and his ability to train subordinates is
well known as well. Out of the current ‘12’ Priest Generals, Reuben has trained
half of them! He’s more than just a soldier, he’s a teacher and humanitarian.
Where most men in his position in Harmonia could have lived in a mansion house,
Reuben lives in a modest apartment, giving most of his stipend to charities.
There are at least four orphanages named after this guy. He’s been called the
Paragon of Virtue, the Hope of Harmonia, and nothing I’ve found contradicts
this.
Investigation 4:
Here’s an interesting tidbit for you. Remember your friend Miles? Turns
out Reuben here saved his life. Miles had a little problem transporting vital
war supplies, and was suspected of selling them off to boost his own coffers.
Worse, he was suspected of selling them to the enemy, would have gotten him
killed. Reuben knew he was an innocent, as Miles was an idiot, but an honest
one at least. He spoke on his behalf, and managed to get Miles sent to be the
Captain of the Orbel Prison instead of being executed. In a strange way, I
guess you guys have Reuben to thank for getting out of prison, as I doubt any
other guard would have armed his own prisoners.

Star Lena Suphina
Investigation 1:
Name: Lena Suphina
Age: 46
From: Crystal Valley, Harmonia
Bio: Lena is a Priest Major of the Harmonia army.
She fought our army and lost, surrendering to us to spare the lives of her
people.
Investigation 2: Before being demoted to a Priest
Major, Lena was the Vice Commander of the Temple Guards of Harmonia. For those
who don’t know, that’s one hell of a high position to fall to a very low
position. The real question is, why the demotion? There is a clear reprimand in
her record in bright red ink, but the reason seems to be classified. I’ll look
into it more.
Investigation 3: Well, I’m still looking into her
demotion, but for now, I’ve looked into her service record. As a Temple Guard,
she stood shoulder to shoulder with the highest ranked Priest Generals and the
Order of God. Now, she’s just a minor governor, the farthest from the front
line. It’s not even a real position, just her and some token blue bloods that
want the service record paycheck, but not actually fight. The more I learn, the
more I want to know why she was demoted.
Investigation 4: Oh boy, ok, now I know why she was
demoted. Turns out Lena is the aunt of one Nash Latkje. Nash wanted revenge on
a man named Zaj, a high ranking officer of the Howling voice Guild. Lena was
supposed to capture Nash, using her family connections, and instead she helped
him out by turning a blind eye. Nash killed Zaj, and chaos was the result. Nash
disappeared afterwards, and Lena was left taking responsibility for his
actions. For disobeying a direct order and failing to bring in Nash, she was
demoted to her current position. It could have been a lot worse all things
considered, but apparently they respected her previous record too much to kill
her, and so they settled on a demotion.

Star Reed (Lilly guard)
Investigation 1:
Name: Reed Tremont
Age: 34
From: Tinto, Tinto
Bio: Reed is one of Lilly’s personnel bodyguards. He
joined when she did.
Investigation 2: Reed is a pro at hiding his
emotions when on the job. He may complain bitterly when off the clock, but he
doesn’t let his feelings show when he is on duty. The only exception is if you
insult his hair; he takes that very personally, and is known to lose his cool
over insults to his appearance.
Investigation 3: He cares for Lilly, perhaps a bit too much, if
you catch my drift. Despite being her bodyguard, he can’t ever talk her out of
anything, and yet she can cajole him into doing anything! He has a soft spot
when it comes to the girl, and he just can’t bear to tell her no. Add that or
to occasional look he gives he, and I can’t tell if he loves her or not. Just
my guess.
Investigation 4: Reed and Samus have worked together
a long time now, but they didn’t always get along. They used to be rivals,
competing on the job in an effort to become Lilly’s only bodyguard. The irony
was, they both worked so hard to outperform the other, that Lilly insisted on
keeping them both full time. That didn’t fly so well at first, let me tell you.
It was not until they were forced to work together to save Lilly from – you
guessed it – herself that they were able to patch up their differences.
55. Chiyu
Star Samus (Lilly guard)
Investigation 1:
Name: Samus Richards
Age: 33
From: Merseto,
Southlands ((Former Kooluk Empire))
Bio: Samus is
bodyguard of Lilly’s. When she joined, he was forced to come along as
well.
Investigation 2: Samus is the knowledgeable,
outspoken bodyguard, the responsible one takes care of the budget for the three
of them, and the one who plans out meals and such. And yet, despite all his
planning, he can’t make a plan on how to get Lilly to listen to a damn word of
any of it. It drives him crazy. It got to the point that he turned in his
resignation, unable to take Lilly anymore, and you know what happened? The
Minister in charge, Marlowe, refused to take his resignation. Unable to quit,
and unable to just leave a contract, he is stuck following Lilly in all her
schemes.
Investigation 3: He comes from the Southlands, in the former
Kooluk empire. I asked him how he managed to end up so far north, and all he
said was that he was sick of his life there, and ended up traveling. He helped
protect Mayor Gustav from bandits one day, and so he was offered the job as
Lilly’s bodyguard. He accepted, not knowing just what he was signing on for at
the time. He doesn’t talk about his family or anything much, but after a few
rounds he mentions wanting to see the southern ocean again. I guess that’s
something.
Investigation 4:
I asked Reed about Samus’s background, and he told me quite an earful.
According to him, Samus doesn’t much care for his family as they trained him to
fight from a young age. See, he was the third born son, not good for anything
by their culture’s standards. So they trained him to be a soldier, and hoped he
could win them glory. Eventually he did, but until then, he was dead weight to
them. The idea of his worth only coming from fighting sickened him so much,
that he up and left it all behind him. He took the job as a bodyguard as he
wanted to defend someone who did matter, and not fight for those who didn’t.
That’s kind of messed up, if you don’t mind me saying so.

Star ROY primary healer
Investigation 1:
Name: Roy Hightower
Age: 59
From: Crystal Valley, Harmonia
Bio: Roy is an old friend and student of Kalas’s.
When he heard his teacher was with us, he joined in a heartbeat.
Investigation 2: Roy is the ruler of Cerock Castle,
a place on the outskirts of Harmonia society. It’s so remote, in fact, the
government never bothered his little utopia. And that’s what Roy hoped for in
creating this place, a utopia. It’s a place where your past and social status
means nothing. If you’re willing to work
hard, you’ll be given room and board, no questions asked. It’s become a haven
for 3rd class citizens, non humans, and those wanted by Harmonia.
Roy assures me most of the criminals are there for political reasons… but I’m
more concerned about the prisoners who aren’t.
Investigation 3: Roy is a powerful healer and skilled doctor,
thanks to the teachings of his master Kalas. If you put the two of them in the
same unit, you’ll see healing like you’ve never seen before, let me tell you.
In an odd story, it’s thanks to his great healing
skills that he found his way to Cerock. When he was running from the Harmonian
army, he came across some traveling circus performers. One of them was sick,
and Roy helped treat him. In exchange, they carried him past a checkpoint south
in their wagon. Afterwards, he had to get by another checkpoint. While scouting
it out, he heard the guard captains’ wife was sick. He went to the captains’
house at night, and made his case: in exchange for passage, he would cure his
wife. The guard captain quickly agreed. Roy saved her life, and he was granted
passage as promised. Roy then tried to go south to get out of Harmonia, but he
couldn’t get by. While looking for an exit, he found a young adventurer,
bleeding in the street. Roy treated him, and the adventurer told him of Cerock
Castle to the east, past the haunted dessert. The man had just wiped out a den
of monsters there, but not before getting wounded in the process. Roy saw his
chance, and in exchange for his healing, the adventurer escorted Roy to the old
ruin. Roy then asked the adventurer to tell people of this place, to spread
word of a haven for those who needed it. Roy spent some years then cleaning the
place up, and the new Cerock Castle was born. All in thanks to Roy’s kindness
and ability to heal. Crazy, eh?
Investigation 4: Part of the reason for Cerock’s
continued success is Roy. Besides refuges, the place attracts large number of
people with health problems in need of a skilled doctor, and there are few more
skilled than Roy. A lot of the early settlers were the kids of those bringing a
sick parent, or the spouse of someone in need of aid. Roy would treat them all
for free, with the promise of continued healing anytime they needed it. With
such an attractive offer, many decided to stay and help rebuild the city with
Roy, knowing their loved one’s health would be taken care of by doing so. Roy’s
name became so famous in Harmonia, that even Hikusaak himself came to see him,
as you well know.
Still, Roy’s never been able to forget the past he
left behind, and the people he couldn’t help, like Gordon and Kalas. Now that
he’s found his teacher, some of the guilt he has harbored these last few
decades has started to fade. He fights not only for his teacher, but for the
memory of all those who have died to make Harmonia a better place.

Star Leah secondary
healer
Investigation 1:
Name: Leah O’Conner
Age: 34
From: Merridwall Castle
Bio: Leah is a nurse from Merrdiwell. She joined us
in thanks for helping to rescue needed medical supplies for sick children.
Investigation 2: Leah has a husband, named Hector.
He handles the books and medical records for Leah, and she treats the
patients. They’ve made it work for
years. They’re trying to have kids, but so far, they’ve had no luck. It’s why
she’s so protective of the kids in her neighborhood, and why she was so
grateful that you were able to help them. She’s a big mother hen, she is.
Investigation 3: Get this, eh? Altruism pays. Leah was running
her clinic out of her home for the first few years, until she helped treat a
traveling merchant… our own Katherine! In thanks for her help, Katherine funded
the building of Leah’s own clinic, and paid to have it stocked with the latest
medicines. It goes to show you that a random act of kindness can go a long way
to improving this world of ours.
Investigation 4: Leah has been a big help in
treating or troops since she joined. Casualties in war have dropped thanks in
part to her saving those once who would have died. Her magic is potent enough,
that it can even cure your party in battle if she is your partner!
She’s a real inspiration to the people here, but she
still worries about the clinic she left behind. Her assistant is running it in
her absence, but she hopes to return to her home once the war is over.

Star HAROLD WINDAMIER (MIKE)
Investigation 1:
Name: Harold Windamier
Age: 26
From: Hometown: L'Renouillve
Bio: Harold was "captured by strange lower-class beings" and sent to the Prison, whereupon he met all the rest of ya. I think you would have known that.
Investigation 2: Harold's an official diplomat of the Dunan Republic. He's been sent all over the world and is considered one of the better ones. It's rumored though he likely only got his position initially because he's cousins with Klaus Windamier, one of the highest ranked ministers of the country.
Investigation 3: Harold's diplomatic goal is mixed. He served with no distinction in the Toran Republic and then got himself kicked out of Zexen for telling the military leader that compared to Lilly of Tinto that she "was almost like a barbarian in taste" But then he was able to stop a bandit revolt in Tinto (making him a beloved figure there!), help the Grasslands come a truce with Tinto and solved the lack of whiskey problem at Kanakan, a major crisis for them. He’s something of an odd duck, alright.
Investigation 4: It turns out that a Harold is a wanted criminal from Zexen. Officially, it's because he said the Leader of the Knights of Zexen had no taste of fashion. Unofficially, he was caught trying to steal records involving the Fire Bringer War a few years ago and injured Salome, a strategist for Zexen. Seems his diplomat role is partly a cover for some spy work too…

Star Lilly
Investigation 1:
Name: Lilly Pendragon
Age: 29
From: Tinto, Tinto
Bio: Lilly is a well to do lady from Tinto,
attending Soledt Academy on her parent’s dime. She joined up when she
recognized Harold as an old friend, and Daisy as Vincent’s father.
Investigation 2: This kid has seen her share of action,
let me tell you. She has served as a sort of diplomat of sorts for Tinto, going
throughout the grasslands and Zexen. She has fought in the Tinto-Grasslands
war, the second Firebringer war, and even in the Tinto-Zexen War. She’s commanded troops, and fought many a
duel along the way, her preferred specialty these days. While some of her exploits may be false,
there is no denying she is the real deal when it comes to battle.
Investigation 3: Hm, turns out Lilly is fiercely motivated to
be strong. When she was six years old, she was kidnapped by a vampire named
Neclord, and nearly turned into his undead bride. She was saved by the efforts
of the coven Mistress, Sierra, Kahn, and Viktor. It’s partly why she joined us,
as she feels she still owes Viktor a favor for bailing her out when she was
young. She hated feeling powerless then, and has since gone on to train to
become a warrior herself, so she never needs to be afraid of guys like Neclord
again.
Investigation 4:
Ok, get this. Part of the reason Lilly is in Harmonia studying is she
really pissed off her family. Her father apparently wanted her to act more
ladylike and stop acting like a soldier, to which Lilly only scoffed at. The
compromise was that Lilly would get to attend Soledt Academy, but she also has
to attend finishing school at night. Maybe that’s why she was so quick to join
a fight when she saw one?
60. Chibaku
Star Gloria
Investigation 1:
Name: Gloria Vanderbill
Age: 33
From: Delon City
Bio: Gloria is the head of a group of bandits, and
is one of those who broke out of Orbel Mining Camp. When confronted by your
party, she joined up with you take over the prison.
Investigation 2:
Gloria is a noble form Delon City. She comes from a long line of first
class nobles. But her family home was seized for a failure to pay taxes. She
lost everything, and since then has lived the life of a bandit, stealing to
survive. From noble aspirations, she became the leader of a group of bandits,
known for their flashy style and desire to avoid bloodshed. Still, that didn’t
impress the guards who arrested her three years ago, sending her into Orbel’s
mining camp.
Investigation 3: Well, I did some digging, and it turns out
that her losing her family home wasn’t her fault. The Order of God demanded she
sell them her house, for a meeting place or some other excuse. When she
refused, they raised the taxes on her estate by 400%. She sold off most
everything she owned to keep her home, and when she paid the ridiculous tax,
they took her money, and deleted all records of the transaction. They took her
money, then seized her house anyway. Gloria knew her noble friends couldn’t
help her against the order of the God, so rather than fight, she fled the city
and began living on the street.
Investigation 4: While on the street, Gloria met a
woman named June. June told her if life kicks you down, kick life right back.
And if life steals from you, steal right back. With such words of wisdom,
Gloria turned to a life of crime, becoming a thief. She had a few rough starts,
but she soon got the hang of things. She became known as the “Sneak of Sanadia”
where she set up shop. She grew bolder and bolder, eventually recruiting a
gang, and became a literal queen among bandits. She grew TOO famous though, as
soon she attracted the attention of Harmonia. Her men were ambushed, and were
arrested before they could even fight back. She landed in Orbel, and well, you
know the rest.
61. Chizen
Star Bryce (Hikusaak clone with
Dom rune) strongest mage
Investigation 1:
Name: Bryce
Age: 55
From: Crystal Valley, Harmonia
Bio: Bryce is the bearer of the True Domination
Rune, and is the Priest General in charge of defending Hikusaak. He joined us
on Hikusaak’s orders.
Investigation 2: Bryce is a powerful wizard in the
employ of Harmonia for decades. His magic is powerful enough on his own, but
with a True Rune supplementing his powers, he is nearly unstoppable. He is
absolutely ruthless in battle, and shows no emotion in killing an opponent or
destroying their minds with his rune. He is not someone you want to fight
against, let me tell you.
Investigation 3: Bryce is one of Hikusaak’s oldest followers,
and he is fiercely loyal to his lord. When the Order of God usurped the True
Rune project, they had to leave Bryce out of the loop. They used power from the
Chronos Rune to keep Bryce out of their minds, much to his dismay. He blames
himself for not doing more to help Hikusaak, that he allowed such corruption
around him without realizing it. He beats himself up as he feels he could have
stopped much of the current bloodshed if he just acted sooner. Whether it’s
true or not, that’s a lot of guilt to carry around.
Investigation 4: I followed Bryce, and it seems he
is working on a secret project for Hikusaak. He keeps looking through files and
interviewing seemingly random people. I can’t figure it out. Maybe I should try
investigating Hikusaak instead? Not that I WANT to investigate him, but that’s
likely the best way to figure out what is going on…
62. Chikou
Star Diaz (offensive ninja) ninja
Investigation 1:
Name: Diaz Flac
Age: 29
From: Rokkaku, Toran Republic
Bio: Diaz is a ninja hired by Caesar to help the
defenses of Liberty Castle. He joined up after the incident where Pearl was
kidnapped…
Investigation 2: Diaz is one bad dude. His specialty
is infiltration and assassination, so he’s not exactly a guy you want to get on
the bad side of, if you know what I mean. Plus, if I’m right, he’s known as the
Card Killer, one of the most lethal assassins around. I can’t be sure, but I’ve
seen him shuffling cards that match the description used by the so called Card
Killer, the man who leaves a playing card on the scenes of his victims. If he
is one and the same, his list of victims would be longer than my arm. So unless
you want to die, I’d give him a wide berth.
Investigation 3: Look, I’ll be honest with you, with this guy’s
rep, I’m keeping some distance from him and me. What I can tell you is that
he’s very protective of Cassie. He’s under orders to protect her at all costs,
and if she dies, he’s not welcome back at Rokkaku. That’s a pretty high bar to
set. He’ll kill anyone to protect her,
and I mean anyone.
Investigation 4: Ok, I woke up this morning with a
playing card on my forehead. If that’s not a warning, I don’t know what is.
Consider this case closed.
63. Chikyou
Star Cassie (defensive ninja) ninja
Investigation 1:
Name: Cassie Crawford
Age: 21
From: Rokkaku, Toran Republic
Bio: Cassie a ninja hired by Caesar to improve the
defenses of Liberty Castle against infiltration. She joined up after the
incident when Pearl was kidnapped…
Investigation 2:
Despite her young age, Cassie is a master class ninja, and one of
Rokkaku’s best. Her mother, Kasumi, is the leader of the Rokkaku ninja’s, and
has had her trained to follow in her footsteps. Still, Kasumi is protective of
her little girl, and has her trained in defensive maneuvers as opposed to
offense. Cassie wants to expand her skill set to include infiltrations and
such, but Kasumi won’t hear of it. It puts Cassie in a tough spot, as if she
disobeys her mother, it’s also disobeying her village leader as well. It’s not
a position I envy.
Investigation 3: While Cassie may not like being considered a
defensive specialist only, you have to give her credit for being damn good at
her job. Since she has been assigned to security, my job of investigating
people has been made ten times harder. She keeps harassing me for sneaking
around, and I’m pretty sure I’m on her list of suspicious people. One of the
perks of the job, I guess. Besides me, she has caught several spies trying to
infiltrate the castle, and has dealt with them personally. From one pro to
another, I tip my hat to her.
Investigation 4:
There is some debate as to who Cassie’s father is. Kasumi never married,
and has never been known to associate with anyone within Rokkaku. Her only
known romantic interest was the hero of the Toran Republic, Tir McDohl. Kasumi
and him served together during the Toran Liberation wars, but the date of
Cassie’s birth doesn’t fit then. However, it does coincide with the Dunan
Unification war. And while it was never made official, it is said both Kasumi
and McDohl were seen helping the Dunan Liberation army. If those two
reconnected during or after the war, it could account for Cassie’s father.
Cassie herself doesn’t know, and her mother isn’t
telling anyone, so this is pure speculation. But it makes for some interesting
reading, don’t you think?
64. Chihi
Star Rosalita (barmaid turned bar owner) Barkeeper
Investigation 1:
Name: Rosalita Fernandez
Age: 25
From: Lorin, Harmonia
Bio: Rosalita worked as a bar maid in Lorin. When
given the choice to open her own bar at our castle, she quickly agreed.
Investigation 2: She LOVES her new bar. It’s a dream
come true for her, to be her own boss. She can make and serve many drinks, and
if you bring her new drink recipes, she can make a ‘special’ version that gives
various benefits in battle. Still, you are consuming large quantities of
alcohol, so there is bound to be some unwanted side effects. Remember to drink
responsibly!
Investigation 3: Rosalita doesn’t get along with her helper,
Bandit Bill. Apparently, when she worked in Lorin, the bar she worked at was
robbed by bandits, and she was beaten up pretty bad. She’s never forgotten the
fear and humiliation from that attack, and doesn’t feel she can trust him. She
only permits him to stay as she feels confident that the soldiers at the bar
could stop him from doing anything if he were to try it. It’s an uneasy truce,
to say the least. I wonder if there’s any way to reconcile these two?
Investigation 4: Digging deeper into her past, I’ve
found out Rosalita is an orphan. She never knew her parents, and because of
this was made a third class citizen by default. She grew up in an orphanage
where there was always a lot of fighting. She spent her day being a peacemaker,
and quickly found people were more agreeable with a full stomach and a cool
drink in hand. She learned to cook early on, and moved on to serving drinks as
she got older. She loves the work, as she gets to meet all sorts of new people.
Now that she owns her own bar, her next goal is to open a franchise, to spread
her philosophy around…and collect the profits, of course.
65. Chisou
Star Mitch (dwarf elders son,
inventor) Elevator
Investigation 1:
Name: Mitch Goldmiser
Age: 311
From: Snowview, Harmonia
Bio: Mitch is the son of Cyrus, mayor of Snowview.
When Felicia tried to take control of the kobolds and dwarves, it was Mitch’s
potions that saved the day. Afterwards, he joined our cause to punish Harmonia.
Investigation 2: Mitch is an incredible inventor. He
created the mind control antidote, built us an elevator, and has built more
inventions than I can name. Among his most impressive inventions are a machine
that makes snow, and a canon that shoots lightning. I asked to see such things,
but he told me they are bound to the mountains of his home. They need such
massive power generators that they are simply not mobile. It’s too bad, as they
sound like they would be a huge help to our army.
Investigation 3: For all his inventions, he still tries to do
better. He feels like a failure, as his
one time girlfriend fell terribly ill, and he couldn’t cure her no matter how
hard he tried. It took a healing mage to save her life. Mitch is determined to
prove that science can replicate anything magic can do, and then some. His
devotion to his science led to his break up with said girl, and yet he
continues to dedicate himself to the further advancement of science.
Investigation 4: Wow. I just saw this for myself,
and I still don’t believe it. I saw Mitch seemingly talking to himself for
quite a while, wearing this strange helmet that covered his ears and eyes. He
looked quite the sight, but I didn’t approach him until he was done. And when I
did, he was embarrassed to have been caught.
I asked him what he was doing, and he told me this: he was talking to
his mother. His DEAD mother. Apparently, he has created an invention that
allows him to talk to the spirits of the dead. That’s incredible. A tad on the
creepy side, but man, what an invention. He let me try it out to see how it
works, and….well, it works as advertised. To be able to see and talk to him
again after all this time…I’m sorry, I need a minute. Just know Mitch is a
genius.
66. Chikou
Star Percy (lost scroll maker) scrolls/maps
Investigation 1:
Name: Percy McDonnell
Age: 28
From: Trifon,
Qunyu (Western Continent)
Bio: Percy is one incredibly lost soul. He found the
party in Falfax Fort, and went with them in hopes of finding his way out of the
fort.
Investigation 2: Percy is from the Western
continent. The bloody western continent! I’ve never known anyone to come from
there. The journey is ridiculously long, and yet Percy doesn’t seem to have a
clue to what I’m talking about. I don’t know what kind of background I can find
on this guy, as it’s not like I can teleport to the Western Continent to look
into it.
Investigation 3: Ok, this is weird. Percy doesn’t know the
first thing about Rune theory. He just turns runes into scrolls, seemingly like
its second nature to him. He’s so…oblivious to everything around him, I can’t
tell what he actually knows, or if this innocent thing is an act. If it’s for
real, he’s a mad genius when it comes to runes. If it’s an act, he’s one of the
most talented fakers I’ve ever seen. I can’t figure this guy out.
Investigation 4: I asked him about his past, and he
rambled on about things I can’t even make sense of to repeat. I mean, he talked
about animals I’ve only heard about in myths, and technology I can’t wrap my
head around. And he goes from this long winded background to talking about
wandering around this continent, from Gregminster to Muse, from Tinto to
Crystal Valley. I’m dropping this case before he drives me mad.
67. Chimei
Star Priest General Faye (has charm
rune, knows Jeane?) horny
Investigation 1:
Name: Faye Kinsley
Age: 25???
From: Witchport, Harmonia
Bio: Faye was a Priest General of Harmonia. Defeated
in battle, she surrendered to spare the lives of her soldiers.
Investigation 2: Faye is a big mystery. I can’t even
figure out old she is for sure. She won’t say anything about it either, but
“mind your own business!” Still, she’s served as Priest General for five years,
at least. How she came to be there, what her goals are…. It’s like a
blank. The information on her is
frustratingly sparse.
Investigation 3: Ok, I don’t know how to explain. I tried
following her to her room, and the last thing I remember is trying to eavesdrop
at the doorknob. Next thing I know, I’m back in my room with lipstick on my
collar. I can’t tell if it’s a warning or a promise.
Investigation 4: I decided to give Faye a wide
berth, asking about her in Witchport. Everyone knows her as this fair and
loving Priest General, a ravishing beauty, but no one knows her as a person.
The only one who seems to know the truth is her best friend, Jeane. They have a
lot in common, from both being proficient in magic, being stunning, and both
being total mysteries. It’s not much, but it’s the best I can do.
68. Chisin
Star Jacques
Investigation 1:
Name: Jacques Gongjin
Age: 29
From: Aeltion Castle, Harmonia
Bio: Jacques is a member of Geddoe’s HSFDF 12th
unit. He joined our army with the rest of his comrades, when they and you tried
to assassinate Windy at the Circle Palace.
Investigation 2: Jacques is a silent hit man, an
archer – and some say sniper – of great skill. He doesn’t’ say much, but he
cares deeply for his friends of the 12th unit, especially for their
junior member, Aila. In addition to his unit, he is a strong defender of children
and animals. For a trainer killer, he’s got a real soft spot.
Investigation 3: Speaking of a soft spot, it turns out Jacques
has a girlfriend! Her name is Gabi, an animal trainer in Caleria. They met when
Gabi helped the team tame some powerful monsters on the border. The two had a
strong connection from the start, and have been now dating for over five years.
Queen apparently teases Jacques about he is going to propose, knowing he will
have a hard time getting the words out.
Investigation 4: Well, I followed Jacques, and it
turns out he may be proposing sooner than expected! He went to a jewelry store,
and I saw him pick out an engagement ring. I guess the whole potential “end of
humanity” thing we’re facing has made him rethink his priorities. I wonder if
we’ll get a wedding invite? Of course, it depends if she says yes. I wonder
when he is going to propose?
69. Chitai
Star Joker
Investigation 1:
Name: Wang “Joker” Cafall
Age: 53
From: Finmonia ((Destroyed, now part of Harmonia
near Osil castle))
Bio: Joker, as he is called now, is a member of the
Harmonia’s Southern Frontier Defense Force’s (HSFDF) 12th unit. His
unit joined our army at the Circle Palace, when they and your guys tried to
assassinate Windy.
Investigation 2: Joker, once known as Wang, is a
powerful martial artist and wizard. His home country was taken over by
Harmonia, with him as one of the few survivors. With no where left to go, he
joined the HSFDF to continue on living. He spent many a day drinking his life
away, lost in the past, before he found a new life with Geddoe and the 12th
unit. He still drinks, but he’s nowhere near as depressed as he used to be.
Investigation 3: Joker thinks of Nash as a sort of
younger brother, and the two go back longer than most realize. The two have
fought in the past for different reasons, but they have developed a mutual
respect. Once, when Nash was arrested in Caleria, Joker was assigned to ‘guard
his equipment tonight.’ Joker followed his orders to the letter, sharpening
Nash’s weapons, refilling his supplies, and guarding them all night. And in the
morning, he left Nash with all of his equipment, and let him go. It’s an odd
relationship, but they somehow make it work.
Investigation 4: Joker doesn’t mention it much, but
he’s a widower. When his country was destroyed, his wife was killed. It’s part
of why he started drinking so much. He misses his wife deeply, and longs to see
her again. He isn’t religious though, and isn’t sure if he will. So he keeps on
living, hoping but afraid to hope, afraid to die but wanting to see her again.
70. Chiman
Star Reynaldo (Castle architect) naval engineer
Investigation 1:
Name: Reynaldo Sancho
Age: 39
From: Lindenmill, Harmonia
Bio: Reynaldo was hired by your team to work on the
Castle. His skill is legendary in Harmonia.
Investigation 2: Reynaldo is a famous architect in
Harmonia, recommended by many nobles and aristocrats for his work. What most
don’t know is how he got that way. See, his first big project was restoring damage
to THE Crystal Palace, capitol of Harmonia. The Order of God didn’t want it
getting made public that there was damage to their precious Palace, and hired a
skilled, but rather unknown architect. He did such a good job, the nobles who
did know of his work hired him to redo their houses, and they recommended him
to their friends, and so on.
The most interesting tidbit here? The damage to the
Palace is rumored to have been caused by none other than Priest General Sasari
himself. Seems he lost his temper, and his True Earth Rune damaged the very
foundations of the Palace in his anger. That is one guy you do NOT want to piss
off, let me tell you.
Investigation 3: He is SO in love with Amelia. They met on a
job nearly 10 years ago, and he’s been smitten ever since. They dated for a
while, but Amelia left him to focus on her baths, her life’s ambition at that
time. I feel bad for the guy, still
carrying a torch for a woman that left him that long ago. Still, it seems they
are good friends, still working together going on a decade now. But you can bet
your last potch that Reynaldo would like to be more than friends, if you get my
drift.
Investigation 4: Man, these two kill me. Reynaldo
loves Amelia, right? And he KNOWS Amelia loves him. How? He found a letter she
had addressed to him, confessing her love for him. So the two of them love each
other, but neither is willing to make a damn move, and end up living nearly
next door to each other as miserable as can be. It’s crazy, I tell you. I have
half a mind to set the two of them up myself.
71. Chisui
Star Brian (One Temple’s librarian) librarian
Investigation 1:
Name: Brain Reynolds
Age: 47
From: Crystal Valley, Harmonia
Bio: Brian was the head librarian for the one
temple. With the fall of the city to Camaro, he evacuated as much of his
precious tomes to our castle with your help.
Investigation 2:
Brian’s loyalties are a bit mixed. He is incredibly grateful to the
Union army for a safe place to house his books, but he mourns the collapsing of
Harmonia. He said something about “seeing all that history going to waste is a
tragedy.” He’s a good man mind you, but I wouldn’t trust him with a vital
military role, is all I’m saying.
Investigation 3: As One temple’s head librarian, Brian was on a
first name basis with many important people, from the Priest Generals to the
Order of God. He’s a very laid back fellow, so he got along with most everyone,
but kept butting heads with one Rodin Relos. Apparently, Relos was reading a
book one day, and lost his temper. His fire magic flared up, and he burned the
book he had been reading. Brian banned him from the libraries after that,
making him an enemy for life. Few people could dare to go against one of the
order of God, but Brian is not without his connections either. Relos couldn’t
retaliate without starting a bigger mess than was warranted, and he had to let
it go. Still, I doubt Relos is the type to ever forget such an insult.
Investigation 4: Brian is a close friend of Priest
General Sasari’s. The two of them are often seen talking late into the night,
but I’ve not been able to get close enough to find out the exact details.
Something about “homunculi” and True Runes, a subject Brian seems to know quite
a lot about. But what the heck is a homunculi? And what does it have to do with
True Runes? I wish I could tell you, but anytime I get close, Sasari senses me
and brings the conversation to a close.
72. Chisyu
Star Bethany (wanderlust rancher) Rancher
Investigation 1:
Name: Bethany Travis
Age: 39
From: Belus, Harmonia
Bio: Bethany is a 3rd class farmer from
Belus. When she heard of the Union army’s goals, she decided to help them out
by raising the best cattle farm she can.
Investigation 2: Some of her critics think she’s too
old to be a farmer, but she can do the work of men half her age. She doesn’t
look a day of over 30, and still has strength to spare. She loves the work, and
says she plans to do it till the day she dies.
Her only problem is getting too attached to her
animals. If one of them catches her eyes, she takes them off the chopping block
and raises them as a pet. It really cuts into her profits, but she doesn’t seem
to mind. Neither do the animals. Just ask clucky.
Investigation 3: Bethany was married once, but her husband died
shortly after they were married. Apparently, he was killed by monsters on his
way to deliver some cattle from Belus to Witchport Castle. Bethany was
heartbroken as you might expect. What made it even harder was the child Bethany
carried within her, the daughter who would never know her father. Her
daughter’s name is Penelope. Bethany
raised her on her own, while taking care of all her animals. That’s kind of
hardcore. I respect her all the more knowing her past.
Investigation 4: Now that Bethany is living here at
Liberty Castle, her daughter Penelope is home alone raising the cattle in
Belus. The kid’s only 17, but she’s more mature than most, and is handling her
responsibilities as a new cattle farmer with a skill that makes her mother
proud. Still, Bethany makes frequent
visits to talk shop and see her daughter. Bethany’s only fear now is that
boyfriend of her daughters. ..
73. Chiin
Star Amber (‘exotic’ dancer) dancer
Investigation 1:
Name: Amber Rose
Age: 19
From: Caleria, Harmonia
Bio: Amber is a dancer from Caleria. Your team
invited her to the castle for…unknown reasons, and she came willingly after a
dance off. Who actually beat her, again?
Investigation 2:
Amber seems an open and shut case. She was raised on the streets with no
parents, learning to pickpocket and steal from an early age. But that was
dangerous, so she developed a more legal talent in dancing. She would dance on
street corners for spare potch, and make al living that way. She’s been doing
it ever since. As I said, open and shut case.
Investigation 3: Well, doing some digging, she was arrested by
the Harmonian Southern Frontier Defense force for pick pocketing once. She stole the wallet of one of the HSFDF’s
captains, Duke. Outraged, he asked for all units to keep an eye out for
her. Knowing that the penalty would be
severe, Geddoe’s 12th unit found her first, and retrieved the stolen
potch pouch. They didn’t turn her in, and probably saved her life. Grateful for
the second chance, she gave up pick pocketing.
Investigation 4: She’s very popular among the men,
but she has no interest. Literally. Get
a few drinks in her, and she’ll gladly confess to not only being a lesbian, but
having a very negative view on men in general. Apparently, she was forced to do
a lot of things I’d rather not repeat when she lived on the streets. She
carries the hurt deep inside her, and puts on a happy façade to get through the
day. I feel bad for her. She’s so young, and has had a rougher life than most
people twice her age.
74. Chii
Star Milia dragon
knight
Investigation 1:
Name: Milia Sven
Age: 46
From: Dragon’s Den, Toran
Bio: Milia is the current captain of the Dragon’s
Den, and bearer of the Dragon Rune. Flik and Viktor called in some favors with
her to convince her dragons to ride to our aid in this battle.
Investigation 2: Milia is the current Captain of the
Dragon’s den, and bearer of the Dragon Rune. If she were to die, all dragons
would fade from this world. Because of this, all Dragon Knights, like Royce,
fight exceptionally hard to protect her. Put her in your combat team as Royce’s
partner, and you’ll see some incredible results.
Investigation 3: Milia has a daughter, named Sharon. Sharon is
a handful and a troublemaker, but Milia loves her all the same. They are a very
loving family, even if they look closer and closer in age as the years go by. Milia
is troubled by this, and according to her diary (what? Yea, I read her diary.
So what?) she debates passing on the Dragon Rune to someone else, so she
doesn’t have to watch her daughter age and die before her. But the question is,
who would replace her?
Investigation 4: Milia is serious about passing her
rune on already. It would make her the shortest term Captain of the dragon’s
den, but I doubt she expected the heart ache of watching Sharon age. She’s been
looking at candidates for the Dragon Rune, and some interesting names come to
mind. She refuses to pass it on to Sharon, but has considered such notable
knights as Trevor and Futch, and even, dare I say it, our own Royce.
Ironically, before her betrayal, even Felicia’s name was on the list. All have
their pro’s and con’s, so she can’t decide. But one thing is certain, change is
in the air for the dragon’s den.
75. Chiri
Star (JON) KUARVAV KALAS
Investigation 1:
Name: Kuarjav Kalas
Age: 75
From: Crystal Valley, Harmonia
Bio: Kuarjav Kalas' past is mostly forgotten - as far as I know, none now live who remember it, except Kalas himself. It will be hard to dig up details from so long ago. I do know that he spent the past 30 years as the doctor-in-chains at the Orbel Prison Mining Camp, only recently gaining his freedom and joining Liberty Castle. He seems like such a gentle soul - what could he have done to be imprisoned for so long?
Investigation Two: Kuarjav is an only child, and his parents died years ago. It's still a mystery who Kuarjav really is, but I've learned a bit more about what Kuarjav does (or did). He taught the best Harmonian students for many years, and of course, this was only allowed because - you guessed it - Kuarjav was born into a First-Class family. From a young age, he was preened by the religious and military elite to be a master magician; apparently, it worked. He is a talented magician, being very adept with water and earth magic, and often being able to ward off magic attacks against him.
Investigation Three: Now we're getting somewhere with Kuarjav's past. I just pulled a few strings and got a secretary at the prison to pull his 30+ year old files from the records library. You're not gonna believe this. Apparently Kuarjav began to speak out against the class system in Harmonia - by inserting rhetoric into his lectures to students. His criminal record lists him as "subversive" and "corruptor of the youth." I understand that anti-class system rhetoric goes against everything that Harmonia stands for, but did that really get him 30 years in jail? There's something I'm missing, and I'm going to get to the bottom of it, believe me.
Investigation Four: After interviewing dozens of people, I finally tracked down an old student of Kuarjav's, an older gentleman, and he told me just about everything I wanted to know. As a teacher, Kuarjav taught a very talented young man named Roy, and they became close friends. Roy eventually told Kuarjav a first-hand account about a slaughter perpetrated by none other than Rodin Relos against non-humans while he was on military campaign. That was the point at which Kuarjav began to preach to his students about the evils of the class system. Long story short, Kuarjav's parents, who were secretly sympathizers, sent him to talk to Gordon, a man who smuggled third-class citizens and non-humans out of Harmonia. Kuarjav, Roy, and Gordon worked together freeing people like this for some time. After a few years, Rodin Relos somehow caught wind of the operation. His soldiers raided Gordon's house, capturing him and all of the slaves he was hiding. Roy barely managed to escape the country. As for Kuarjav, he was arrested in the middle of a lecture - by Relos himself. There wasn't enough evidence to connect Kuarjav to Gordon, but it does explain Kuarjav's lengthy imprisonment. As for what happened to Gordon and Roy - the gentleman wouldn't say. He may not know, or he may not want to tell. Not even I can figure that out.

Star Gears (Hilda’s creation)
Investigation 1:
Name: Gears Roboto
Age: 8
From: Ironbeach, Camaro ((Built by Hilda))
Bio: He is Hilda’s robot friend. You helped her to
repair him, and they joined up in appreciation.
Investigation 2: Gear is practically indestructible.
He can literally take himself apart and put himself back together again with
little effort. It’s only when his core is damaged that he can’t fix himself.
Hilda even tells me he has an attack where he BLOWS HIMSELF UP to deal massive
damage to an enemy. If a trickster like Sciath were to partner with him, the
damage would be crazy…
Investigation 3: Gears and Sun Crystal are either good friends
or poor rivals. They keep trying to show up the other but how much they can improve
on the other, by actually upgrading the others system. It’s something else.
I’ve seen Tricksters upgrade automatrons before, but automatrons upgrading
automatrons? It’s a tad scary, if you ask me.
Investigation 4: Despite being nearly indestructible,
Gears is very much afraid of being replaced by a newer model. He is Hilda’s
third robot, and he fears he will be damaged and replaced one day rather than
repaired. It’s why he’s so determined to learn to upkeep himself so much. He
loves Hilda, but he is afraid of her too. I can’t imagine how they make that
kind of relationship work.
77. Chiraku
Star Erica (muse of justice) singer
Investigation 1:
Name: Erica Dodger
Age: 26
From: Adosi, Harmonia
Bio: She is a traveling bard, who you met in the
town of Aria. When praised, she joined your party.
Investigation 2: Erica has been traveling for nearly
10 years, making a living with nothing but her voice. Before that, I don’t
know. She clams up about it like a vice. Still, she is amazing singer, and a
gorgeous woman. She’s received a dozen marriage proposals a day since she
joined us at the castle. She’s so darn happy that it’s hard not to get affected
by it. Listening to her sing, I even found my own foot tapping to the beat.
There’s no doubt about it, there’s power in this woman.
Investigation 3: Erica talks big about her exploits, but she
takes what she calls “creative license” with the facts. The story about her
killing a dragon? Well, she saw a dragon once. And the one where ended famine
in the grasslands? She might have given an apple to a kid in the grasslands.
All I’m saying is, her stories might sound great in song, but take them with a
grain of salt.
Investigation 4: Well, this is depressing. I managed
to get Erica to talk to me, and her past is one of misery. Apparently her
sister was a reporter of some renown, and was caught up investigating some big
shot corrupt baron. The baron didn’t like this, and retaliated, killing Erica’s
entire family and setting their home on fire, and kidnapping Erica for good
measure. She was help prisoner where
endured horrible tortures, until the Baron was arrested for the crimes her
sister died exposing. Once set free, Erica couldn’t bring herself to go home,
and began wondering. She met a local singer, and began traveling with her. She
began learning to sing, and the rest is history.
Is it just me, or is this story vaguely familiar?
78. Chitatsu
Star Viki
Investigation 1:
Name: Viki
Age: 17
From: ???
Bio: Viki literally dropped out of the sky after the
Sorrowyn liberation. She joined up as she knew her friends Flik, Viktor, and
Humphrey.
Investigation 2: Despite acting like a klutz, Viki
is a teleporting mage of some power.
According to Flik, she has been instrumental in winning the war for Both
Toran and Dunan. Caesar says the same thing, only that she helped out in the
grasslands. And Lorelei says she met her in Falena! If this is true, this kid
has helped win wars that happened before she was born. How does that even make
sense?
Investigation 3: Ok, well, this is…odd. According to her
friends, Viki has the power…to teleport through time. Time! I can’t even
imagine the kind of power that would require. It makes her history make sense,
and maybe her personality. I mean, if I couldn’t tell WHEN in time I was, how
would you stay sane? Her care free attitude and bubbly personality might be her
defense against going mad in the face of such uncontrollable power.
Investigation 4: I did some more digging, this time
in ANCIENT history. I figured if she
really is traveling through time, their would be accounts of her father back.
And I was right. There’s an account of a teleporting mage about 160 years ago
in the Island Nations. And before that, there’s a teleporting whiz kid who
helped the knights of Zelant kingdom. And older than THAT, there’s a
teleporting wizard who helped the old Armes Kingdom. And even older than THAT,
there is supposedly a powerful teleporting wizard who helped the Sindar move about
from place to place, which is why some theorize how sindar ruins appear so
randomly around the world.
Do you know what this means? If this info is right,
this kid might have been so far back in time to help the sindar, and know what
actually happened to them! I…I can’t even imagine what that would be like. This
case is absolutely mind boggling.
79. Chisoku
Star Lucius Retired Priest General who takes confessions
Investigation 1:
Name: Lucius Severus
Age: 94
From: Belus, Harmonia
Bio: Lucius was a retired Priest General of
Harmonia. Your team convinced him to come out of retirement, and he joined up.
Investigation 2: Lucius was once considered one of
the greatest Priest Generals of his time. He was a powerful wizard, a
knowledgeable strategist, and great at extracting confessions form prisoners.
He is credited with single handedly finding the True Earth Rune for Harmonia.
His record is nearly perfect, and he is highly respected by those who remember
him. Maybe it’s just me, but his record seems too clean for one who served as
long as he did…
Investigation 3: Lucius was known as the confession General. He
took his religious duties more seriously that most do, and performs many church
services than most of the military leaders often leave to subordinates. Now
that he works for you, he has set up a small church and a confession booth in
the castle to keep up with his churchly duties. He’s a true man of the earth,
literally; his main form of magic is earth. It’s how he found the True Earth
Rune supposedly, as he is so in tuned with the earth.
Investigation 4: Well, I did some more digging, and
I found out that the perfect soldier has a blight on his record after all. It
was covered up as he retired soon after, but his record states he got into a
fierce fight with the Order of God, over what, only he and the Order know. For
daring to stand up to them, he was ordered to retire. The question now is, what
were they arguing about?
80. Chichin
Star Anna Windamier narcissist
Investigation 1:
Name: Anna Windamier
Age: 22
From: L'Renouillve
Bio: Harold’s little sister. She was imprisoned in
Sorrowyn prison for crimes unknown, and joined us during the great Sorrowyn
break out.
Investigation 2:
Ok, so get this: Anna was in jail for breaking Harold out of jail.
Apparently, Harold was arrested for spying in Harmonia, and Anna busted him
out. They tried to make it back to Dunan and seek shelter there, but were
stopped at the border. They tried a phony cover story, which backfired and got
them arrested….again. Not being recognized, Harold was sent to Orbel where he
met you, and Anna was sent to Sorrowyn.
Investigation 3: Anna is true blue noble and
narcissist. She loves the finer things in life, from her Silk clothing to her
Rose Brooch. She lived a life of luxury with her parents in the Crystal Valley…
until they mysteriously died. Anna has always suspected Henry was responsible,
but she’s never been able to prove it. Once they died, Henry took sole control
of their family’s fortune, cutting her off from most of her former luxuries. In
their place, Henry was going to marry her off to a man known for his brutality
on the battlefield. Not wanting to marry this creep, she rescued Harold out of
jail to seek a better life with him in Dunan.
Investigation 4: Anna feels indebted to Harold. He’s
been her savior since they kids, and yet when he went to Dunan, she did
nothing. It’s something that still eats at her heart. If you were to put her in
battle as Harold’s partner, I’m sure she would work even harder to help him
out. And I hear if the two of them were to face Henry, you might get one heck
of a reaction…
81. Chikei
Star Hilda (dwarf apprentice)
Investigation 1:
Name: Hilda Highmountain
Age: 231
From: Ironbeach, Camaro (Formerly Nameless lands)
Bio: Hilda is a dwarf inventor AND trickster,
combining the best of both worlds. Defeated at Ironbeach, she joined to protect
her people.
Investigation 2:
You’d never guess it by her personality, but this kid is over 200 years
old! It boggles my mind to think of dwarves and elves living so much longer
than humans. And yet, Harmonia considers them inferior. That just ain’t right,
if you ask me. At any rate, Hilda is 231, and is still considered a young
adult. I wonder how old an elder could get?
Anyway, Hilda had a very typical childhood at
Ironbeach, as her parents were inventors, the typical job at Ironbeach. Growing
up around machine, she learned to love every bit about them. She’s also a
fairly accomplished cook, too, but be careful of the nights she wants to
‘experiment.’ Trust me on that one.
Investigation 3: Hilda is a genius when it comes to machines.
She’s made all sorts of inventions using what she calls ‘dwarf science’ but
became fascinated by Trickster robots when one trickster came to see the dwarfs
for ideas on her robot. The trickster’s name was Meg, and the two of them built
and rebuilt robots for nearly a week, before Meg had the desire to move on.
Hilda didn’t get it at first, but wanted to better understand trickster
machines, and traveled with Meg for a while. As time went on, she began to
understand the appeal of the trickster life, and embraced it herself.
Her robot, Gears, is her third robot. The first two
met with…accidents. The first one tried to help Hilda by going fishing for her
while she slept, and never came out of the river. The second was struck by
lightning and blew up into too many pieces to be repaired. The third model,
Gears, has both water proofing and a lightning rod to help prevent any more
problems. Here’s hoping it works out for her!
Investigation 4: She returned home to Ironbeach just
as the Camaro invasion began. She build several robots to help with the
defense, and became a sort of a defensive specialist building traps and making
plans to push back Camaro. Camaro had estimated Iron Beach would fall within a
day, but thanks to Hilda, they held out for nearly 2 months. When the city
eventually fell, Gregory wanted to know who was responsible for the defense,
and Hilda stepped forward, thinking she would be killed. Instead, she was made
leader of her people (In Camaro’s eyes) and made a General of Camaro for her
exceptional skills. This was done to win her loyalty, and it worked. She fought
for her people under Camaro until her homeland was again taken over by our
forces. With her homeland freed from Camaro, she joined our army instead.
82. Chima
Star Bazeroth (Kraken); offers
Kraken fishing Leader of 5 animal
group
Investigation 1:
Name: Bazeroth
Age: 9
From: Outside Witchport, Harmonia
Bio: Bazeroth is the leader of a tribe of Krakens
near Witchport. He joined your group during your invasion of that city, lured
by your aphrodisiac.
Investigation 2: Bazeroth is considered a fair
leader by his people, and is well respected. When he made the decision to go to
war with you, his people came with him. They’re quite the sight in battle, let
me tell you, giving a unit the ability to move across water. That’s rather handy! Get it? Handy?
Investigation 3: Bazeroth is one of five siblings. They were
all separated by a storm over a year ago now, and he has no idea where they
could have disappeared too. If you could find them for him, I’m sure he would
be grateful.
Investigation 4: Bazeroth has an odd love for land
food. Chicken, beef, turkey… you name it. He can’t get it on the water, so he
takes advantage of it while he can.
83. Chiyou
Star Lynn (created, Reporter) reporter
Investigation 1:
Name: Lynn Dodger
Age: 27
From: Adosi Village, Harmonia
Bio: Lynn is a reporter, and now runs the castle’s
upcoming paper. Your team met her at the old Naval Ruins in the north.
Investigation 2:
Lyn has a thing for facts. She loves secrets, and more specifically,
exposing them. She is writing a book on Harmonia’s failed naval campaigns of
the past, and let me tell you, it’s good. Hm? How have I read it? I stole a
glance at her notes, no biggies. She has top secret documents from where, even
I don’t know. That kind of stuff requires connections. She has proof of millions
of potch going into this failed expedition, and how the entire armada was wiped
out in less than a year. The casualties
were staggering, and yet it’s not in any history book that I ever heard about.
And seeing as how the nobility that runs the government today are descendents
of the same nobles who botched this up….well,
a lot of people will have egg on their faces if this book ever gets
published.
Investigation 3: Lynn apparently has a sister, named Erica.
They were quite close from Lynn tells me, but something happened. I know as
Lynn instantly clamed up when I asked where she was now. So I did my thing, and
looked it up. What I found is more than I bargained for, let me tell you. Turns
out Lynn’s family were all killed in a fire when she was 16. Lynn has been away
at the time, working on one of expose pieces of corruption in Harmonia. Arson
was suspected, but there was never any proof. I think it’s clear what motivates
her quest for the truth, don’t you? I really admire her courage, her beauty,
her resolve…you think I have a shot if I asked her out?
Investigation 4: Lynn is quite good at her work.
Turns out, three years after the fire that killed her family, she uncovered
proof that it was done by a local Baron Lynn had been investigating as a warning.
Baron asshole wanted to scare her off by burning their home down, but didn’t
expect it to kill everyone inside. With nothing left to lose anymore, Lynn
continued her investigation, and her findings put the corrupt bastard in jail
at Sorrowyn for life.
Still, her quest didn’t end there. She seeks to
uncover more hidden secrets. Like the naval base piece? I finished reading her
notes, and I found out that her great, great, grandfather was one of the
soldiers killed in the battle. She has a bone to pick with Harmonia for the
damage done to her family, and I doubt this girl will ever stop in her pursuit
of the truth.
84. Chiyu
Star Xander detective
Investigation 1:
Name: Xander Travis
Age: 41
From: Lindermill, Harmonia
Bio: Is this a joke? You guys paid me to join you
back in Lindenmill after the kidnapping case of Katherine’s son, Sam.
Investigation 2: You really want to know about me?
Geez, fine. I grew up in Lindermill, the son of two second class citizens. My
dad was a guard for the city, up until he was framed for murder. I was with him
at the time and knew him to be innocent, but the court ruled out my testimony
as I was just a kid. I decided I wasn’t going to let stuff like that pass, and
began my own investigation. I found proof of my dad’s innocence, but not before
he was executed. I keep doing this job in memory of him. Happy now?
Investigation 3: This again? Oy. Well, what’s to tell? How do I
do so many investigations at once? Naw, that’s my secret. I can tell you about
my hardest case. I was hired to look into this Runemaster at Witchport, Jeane.
That gal has more secrets than most, let me tell you. No matter how close I
got, it was like she always KNEW when I was close, and knew to cover her
tracks. It was the only case I ever had
to refund a client’s money. And let me tell you it was a lot of money, as it
was the only time I ever took a case from the Order of God themselves. Yea,
that’s right, THE order of God. I don’t know why they were interested in Jeane,
and that burns me up. I make my living knowing secrets, not being kept out of
the loop.
Investigation 4: You really won’t give this up, eh?
Fine. Since you’re paying the potch for this, I’ll tell you. I can do so many
investigations at once thanks to my special rune, the Eight Form Rune. I can
literally split myself into eight people, and be in eight places at once. My
main body needs to sit still somewhere, focusing on the power of the rune, but
the other seven of me can go where I want them too, and report back to me as
needed. With seven of me on the case, you know I always have an edge over the
competition!
85. Chifuku
Star Dexter (created, starting tactician) Strategist assistant
Investigation 1:
Name: Dexter Montgomery
Age: 19
From: Delon, Harmonia
Bio: Dexter is a member of the liberation army, and
has been for two years. That means he joined when he was 17… that’s pretty
young.
Investigation 2: Dexter here was a student at Soledt
Academy. His life changed forever when he heard a speech by graduating senior
Pearl Miller. She called on everyone to think about status and social reform,
to put value on the lives of all people and not just the elite. Dexter took it
to heart, and dropped out of school after one year to join the Liberation army.
Pearl saw his value early on, and appointed him her military strategist. The
two of them founded the ground work of the current movement together.
Investigation 3: Dexter loves strategy, not only as a career
but also as a hobby. He studies it by reading books and playing games of Go and
Chess and other games I can’t even name. He knows he’s not the best, but he
wants to prove that Pearl was right to trust in him. Long term, it’s his goal
to be the best strategist the world has ever seen, and write his own book of
strategy. For now, he hopes to be of use
to the army, and have at least one major plan to shift the tides to our favor.
Investigation 4:
The kid’s under more pressure than I thought. His family is 1st
class, but they lack the wealth of the nobility. They’re barely getting by, and
are in danger of losing their family home. They sent Dexter to school with the
help of a scholarship, hoping he could become a strategist for Harmonia and
send money back home. But now, all he can send is his stipend from our army,
which doesn’t have half the funds of Harmonia. He needs to prove himself not
only for himself, but to support his family. He doesn’t have it easy, let me
tell you.
86. Chihi
Star Gregory Martial Arts Trainer
Investigation 1:
Name: Gregory Wright
Age: 44
From: Aldea, Camaro
Bio: Gregory is the head general of Camaro, and the
Queen’s right hand man and bodyguard as needed. He fought us in her name, and
was defeated. When the Queen joined our cause, he relented and joined us as
well.
Investigation 2: Gregory is the right hand man of
the queen, and captain of the Knights of Camaro. Some have even called him “the
spirit of Camaro personified” meaning he is a knight’s knight, full of honor
and courage. The current war challenged that however, as he knew about the
queen’s use of demons, and did nothing about it. He was too blindly loyal to
the queen to dare rebel against her. He is disgusted with himself now for not
realizing Dianna was under Windy’s spell, as he feels he should have known his
real queen would never authorize the use of such terrible monsters. He beats
himself up, thinking if he had challenged her he might have woken her up
himself earlier, and put a stop to this war long before. I don’t know if it
would have worked that way, but there’s no reasoning with this man’s guilt, let
me tell ya.
Investigation 3: Before he was the Queen’s right hand, Gregory
was an orphan growing up in Aldea. His mother had died in childbirth, and his
father had died before he was born, a soldier in the queen’s army. He grew up
alone, being teased and mocked for being an orphan in school. But despite it
all, he wanted to follow his father’s footsteps, and fight for his country. He
knew there was good in this world, and he would defend it. He practiced with
his father’s sword day in and day out. He joined the army at 14, and quickly
surprised his commanders with his superior swordsmanship. In training, none
could defeat him. When the Camaro unification wars began, he fought on the
front lines to great success, earning himself a place as one of the King’s
Royal Knights. He fought with them until tragedy struck; the Royal Knights were
ambushed. Gregory and his team fought hard, but in the end, the King was
killed. Gregory called for a retreat, and he himself grabbed the King’s body.
With the king over one shoulder and his sword in his free hand, he fought his
way out of the trap and brought the king’s body back to Camaro for burial.
Gregory was promoted to one of the Queen’s Knights for his heroic act.
Investigation 4: From there, Gregory started studying strategy.
He felt if he could have seen the ambush coming, the King might still be alive.
He studied day and night while keeping up with his duties and sword training.
It was exhausting work, but he did it for his country. Gregory finished his
studying from books, and asked the old generals for advice. He trained with
them, and they quickly saw his potential. Gregory was promoted to General, and
became the Queen’s defense general and bodyguard. Since then, he has split his
duties between improving defenses for the queen, and keeping up the war front.
He led the war across the nameless lands and into Harmonia, where he met your
team, and was only sent back to defense when opposed the use of demons in the
war. Now serving with us, he is a valuable asset in taking out Yuber and Windy.
87. Chiku
Star Gabi w/Fox the Moneky (opens
zoo) girl with animal
Investigation 1:
Name: Gabi Schmidt
Age: 28
From: Caleria, Harmonia
Bio: Gabi is an animal trainer of some expertise.
She loves animals, and has wanted to open up her own zoo for some time. You
guys offered her the chance, and she took it.
Investigation 2: Ok, I’ve watched her train. She
actually TALKS to her animals. And get this? They seem to talk back,
acknowledging her words with nods or a roar of some kind. She treats them like
people, and they rise to the task of responding to her like people. Does some
rune allow her to do that, or what?
Investigation 3: She has the uncanny ability to not only tame
and train animals, but MONSTERS as well. Take her with you as your partner, and
she can capture monsters for her zoo.
She’s used this ability in the past too, with the
Harmonian Southern Frontier Defense Force (HSFDF), working with the 12th
unit and its captain, Geddoe. She apparently knows them well, and has helped
them to tame powerful monsters that threatened the border, and used them as a
deterrent to stop other monsters.
Investigation 4: Huh. Well, she has a way with people
too. She apparently knows Geddoe and his team as she has a relationship with
the silent archer, Jacques. Jacques like to keep it quiet – no surprise there –
and Gabi respects his wish. They’ve been dating close to five years now, and
she’s helped the HSFDF several times to be closer to Jacques. Apparently, they
are quite happy together. Queen tells me
the team jokes about when Jacques will propose, knowing he will have a hard
time getting the words out.
88. Chiko Star Massa (failure son of Mose) blacksmith
Investigation 1:
Name: Massa Kihine
Age: 22
From:
Kalekka, Toran Republic
Bio: Massa is from the Toran Republic. His father is
a big shot there, being a famed war hero and blacksmith. Massa is trying to
follow in his father’s footsteps.
Investigation 2: Man, Massa is um, special. I
watched him attempt to sharpen a spear, and he melted the entire tip off. As he
turned to fix that, he ended up stabbing the furnace with the blunt end, and it
caught fire. He ended up having to refund the guy’s money and bought him a new
spear to replace the one Massa ruined. Are you sure you want this guy working
here?
Investigation 3: Massa has incredibly bad luck. He’s been fired
from every job he ever had, and he’s had a lot. He’s tried learning from his
father and his friends, who have all fired him for incompetence. His father is Mose, and he’s worked under Mace,
Mass, Moose and Meese. He’s been banned from the Dwarf Village in Toran after
an unknown “incident” and he burned down the shop in Snowview. I’m really questioning your judgment in
hiring him…
Investigation 4: Well, after studying him some more,
I think the problem is his confidence. He’s always so damn worried about
messing up, he can’t actually focus on his work. If you could find something to
boost his confidence, something like a legendary golden Hammer, I think his
problems would be solved. But what are the chances of that happening?
89. Chizen
Star Ramza (old drunk) gossip/rumor
Investigation 1:
Name: Ramza Feoul
Age: ???
From: Seika, Toran Republic
Bio: Ramza is this odd wandering drunk, far as I can
tell. Why’d you recruit him again?
Investigation 2: His last name is pronounced
“Fe-uw-l” but most pronounce it as “Ramza foul” from the stench he carries. If you don’t mind his aroma, he’s a hoot to
listen to. When he’s drunk, which is always, he talks about random stuff, from
rumors around the castle, battle advice, to stuff he clearly made up. I mean,
he told me he was a millionaire. Who could believe that?
Investigation 3: Woah woah woah, hold the presses. I did some
more checking as is procedure, and Ramza has more money in the bank than most
Harmonian Nobles. And well, that’s a LOT. How on earth did he make that kind of
money? Why did he come here from the Toran Republic? I dismissed this
investigation at first, but it looks like I might have to get serious…
Investigation 4: Well, damn. Ramza is from the town
of Seika, right? Well, he is apparently the student of one Maithiu Silverburg,
the genius who helped win the Gate Rune War for the Toran Republic. He was
rivals with a man named Shu, who won the Dunan Unification for the Dunan
Republic. I traveled to Dunan to talk to Shu, and he told me this personally:
“Ramza is alive, eh? He was once the greatest of Maithiu’s
students, even better than myself. We had a bet once, to see who could make the
most money in the shortest amount of time. We used all we had learned from Maithiu,
going to extremes Maithiu would eventually expel us for using. But Ramza…. He
went even further than I did. I took many chances, but I stayed within the
bounds of the law. Ramza didn’t. Prostitution, Slavery, cons and scams… he won
the bet to make more money, but he ruined many lives in doing so. The last time
I saw him, he punched me in the face for supposedly forcing him to take such
measures, refusing to take responsibility for his own actions. The last I heard
of him he was drinking himself to death in every pub in the world.”
Ramza has one hell of a past to him. I never would
have expected him to once have been the peer of such prominent people. And
those he hurt… damn.

Star Elric (stoned elves) non human duo
Investigation 1:
Name: Elric Fletcher
Age: 362
From: Sanil, Harmonia
Bio: Elric and his brother Elmdor were famous
adventurers in their day, until they turned to stone by the Basilisk of the
forest temple. When you removed their curse, the two brothers joined to show
their appreciation.
Investigation 2: The two brothers have exceptionally
sharp eyes, giving the extra bonus of "eagle eyes" to their partner,
a secret you won't find anywhere but here. This trait makes them excellent archers,
and make great companion's to have. Even better, if you put them together in
battle, the arrows will fly with even more damage than usual!
Investigation 3: Elric was the youngest child, and a mama’s
boy. He always tried to earn the approval of his father and brother, but he
could never keep up with the pace the two set. He pushed and pushed until he
finally grew so tired of trying to win his father’s approval he just up and
left. His brother Elmdor went with him, refusing to let Elric go alone. As he
left, his mother gave him the Blue Hair Ribbon he wears.
Investigation 4: The two brothers traveled far and
wide, and helped a lot of people. But the one person they couldn’t help was
their own mother. She became sick of a rare disease, and the only known cure
was found in the Forest Temple. They tried to retrieve it, and you can guess
what happened. Their mother died while they were stoned. It eats him up that for
all the times she defended and helped him, he couldn’t help her when she needed
it.

Star Elmdor (stoned

Investigation 1:
Name: Elmdor Fletcher
Age: 364
From: Sanil, Harmonia
Bio: Elmdor and his brother Elric were famous

Investigation 2:
The two brothers have exceptionally sharp eyes, giving the extra bonus

with even more damage than usual!
Investigation 3: Elmdor was the oldest child, and his father’s
favorite. His father was renowned of
wood crafts, and Elmdor was in position to inherit the family business. He even
had a girl he cared for, who made it no secret she cared for him. Despite all
these reasons to stay at Sanil where it was safe, when Elric decided he was
going to leave home, Elmdor wasted no time in packing his own gear as well.
Nothing was more important to him than his little brother.
Investigation 4: The girl he was involved with? She
married another guy, and died in child birth. Elmdor has gone to her grave
every day since his curse was removed. His brother may have been more
important, but it must have torn him apart inside to lose her…

Star Wakai Hai Yo’s Apprentice
Investigation 1:
Name: Wakai Chan
Age: 15
From: Black Dragon Isle
Bio: Wakai is Hai Yo’s new apprentice, and a
talented cook for one so young. He’s got a bright future ahead of him, I bet.
Investigation 2: Wakai’s from Black Dragon Isle, a
place known worldwide for its cooking. Their chefs are the Imperial Cooks for
Kings and Queens the world over. The place is essentially the hardest school of
cooking known. And in this environment, Wakai’s family owned a restaurant. And
not just any restaurant, but the single highest rated restaurant on the entire
Isle. To put it in layman’s terms, he’s practically royally there.
Investigation 3: Wakai’s family was famous; TOO famous. A rival
of theirs grew jealous of their continued success, and hired assassins to burn
the place down and kill everyone inside. When I say cooking there is important
there, it’s freaking deadly. Wakai’s parents and brother were killed, and Wakai
escaped as he was visiting his grandfather at the time. The culprits were found
and executed shortly after, but Wakai has never forgotten those killed.
Investigation 4: Well, it’s a small world after all.
Wakai’s grandfather, the one he was visiting during the attack? His name was
Mifune, also known as Grand Master Mifune; the same cook who trained Hai Yo.
The title of Grand Master is determined by a cooking contest held every ten
years; the same contest Hai Yo is involved in now. The Grand Master is
officially in charge of the entire Black Dragon Isle, meaning Wakai really WAS
royalty there. With the death of Mifune, the title and position as ruler is now
open to be claimed. Wakai tried to claim it, but couldn’t defeat Hai Yo, as you
know. Wakai couldn’t stand Hai Yo at first, but has since come to respect him
as a chef.
93. Chizou
Star Hai Yo (imperial chef) Cook
Investigation 1:
Name: Hai Yo
Age: 49
From: Black Dragon Isle
Bio: Hai Yo is from the famed cooking isle, Black
Dragon Isle. As one of the top chefs worldwide, he took a job as the head chef
of Harmonia. With the fall of the capitol, he was rescued by your group, and
joined us instead.
Investigation 2: Hai Yo has a crazy past to him.
Apparently, there was this thing called a “Blue Moon Bird Recipe” that could
make anyone who ate the food super happy, but in the way of near mind control!
Hai Yo stole the recipe from an organization called “the group” and his fiancé
was killed for this. He was on the run for years, trying to hide the recipe
from those who would abuse it, and had to defeat many assassins in – I kid you
not – cooking battles. Eventually, Hai Yo won, defeating every member of the
group, and destroying the recipe.
It’s almost too crazy to believe, but it’s all true,
I swear.
Investigation 3: What are the odds? Hai Yo is now a contestant in yet another
cooking battle. This time it’s not for his life, but for title of the head chef
of the Black Dragon Isle. This title is the closest thing the isle has to
royalty, which would make Hai Yo the official best chef in the world if he were
to win. Still, he can’t do it on his own, as he needs assistant to help him
out. I guess that’s where you guys come in, eh? Find him his recipes and help
him win the cook offs, and something good is bound to happen…
Investigation 4: Hai Yo’s best recipe is called
“Tempora-Don.” He used this recipe to great success in his previous cooking
battles. Because of this, he began to fear its power, worrying if he might
accidentally create a New “Blue Moon Bird Recipe.” So he locked it up, vowing
to never use it again unless the circumstances demanded it. I wonder what
circumstances are considered dire for a chef?
94. Chihei
Star Bernadette (captured noble
lady)
Investigation 1:
Name: Bernadette Myers
Age: 26
From: Crystal Valley, Harmonia
Bio: Bernadette is a Noble from Crystal Valley, a
true blue 1st class citizen with more political ties than you have
stars of destiny. She ended up being kidnapped by pirates, and was rescued by
your party.
Investigation 2: Her family is cold, and I mean arctic.
Her parents sent her away to boarding school from before she was a week old, as
they couldn’t stand her crying. She didn’t actually see her parents again until
she was 14, when she received an award for her excellence at school. As soon as
she was a winner, her parents were all over her pretending to be adoring
parents. It’s said that when her father died, Bernadette spent more time
picking out her outfit for the funeral than she actually spent grieving. How frigid can you get?
Investigation 3: The ice queen has a heart after all. I’ve
found out that spends many a night crying herself to sleep, mourning someone
named William. A lover, I suppose, but I’ll let you know the full details as I
find them.
Investigation 4: Heh, like I thought. Bernadette
wasn’t forcibly taken; she was sweet talked by one of the pirate’s sailors, the
guy named William. The two had a frantic love affair which ended abruptly when
William’s shipmates learned who she was. William tried to defend her, and in
exchange his friends on board gave him a pair of cement shoes and a trip to the
bottom of the sea; that’s why there was no body or anything. Bernadette saw the
whole thing, and was devastated by it. She’s learned to hide her real emotions
after dealing with her family for so long, but she’s really hurting over this.
Poor kid.

Star Gomez (eccentric tesserect
storage keeper) Storage
Investigation 1:
Name: Gomez Rodriguez
Age: 34
From: Iron
Beach, Camaro
Bio: Gomez is one of those eccentric inventor types.
His tesserect storage system is pretty weird. Just how does it work?
Investigation 2:
Gomez has many other inventions besides his storage system, none of
which have made him a cent. Some of his creations include a puppet show that
runs by itself without humans, a mechanical dragon that can fly in the sky and
armor that can go underwater. Granted, none of his others have made money as
none of the others actually work…
Investigation 3: Gomez claims to be a genius, and he may be
right. I’ve seen a couple of dwarf inventions and trickster automatons in my
time, but Gomez here hasn’t been formerly trained by either faction. He just
gets these harebrained ideas, and begins work on them without worrying about things
like “facts.” Most of his designs seem similar to trickster creations, but this
tesserect thing… it’s different from anything I’ve ever seen from a trickster.
I must be an idiot, as I still don’t get how it works.
Investigation 4: Well I’ll be damned. I saw Gomez
receive some items from one of tesserect customers, and I saw a massive portal
pop out of nowhere to drop off the items. That’s not trickster work; that’s
magic! And not just any magic, but I mean powerful magic. I’ve not seen such a
portal myself, but from what I remember only True Runes can open and close
portals like that at will. Didn’t you guys see such a portal with your Unity
Rune? I think it’s the same thing. But if that’s true, does Gomez have a true
rune?
96. Chido
Star Natasha (winger who thinks she’s a vampire) Creepy/ugly
Investigation 1:
Name: Natasha Ward
Age: 27
From: Wreckmar, Harmonia
Bio: Natasha is a winger from Harmonia who, oddly
enough, hangs out in graveyards and claims she is a vampire. I still haven’t
figured out why she joined your army, though…
Investigation 2: Um, I’m not usually one to question
such things, but are we sure she’s not actually a vampire? I was spying on her
without her knowledge, and watched her sleep in a coffin and drink from a
bottle of what appeared to be blood. That’s not normal, last I checked.
Investigation 3: This chick is creeeeeeepy. I watched as she
dug up the bodies of dead soldiers and talked to their skeletons. She buried
them again after, and it’s almost impossible to tell she dug them up in the
first place. I don’t mean to question your judgment, but should we really allow
her to do that?
Investigation 4: Well, I have the official word:
Natasha is NOT a vampire. To confirm, I went to the expert of expert on all
things vampire related, the original coven Mistress Sierra herself. Sierra
confirmed that Natasha is not one of her people, but even she admitted the
resemblance was a tad unsettling. All that’s left to this case is to figure out
how I’m going to repay Sierra…
97. Chisatsu
Star Dale
Investigation 1:
Name: Dale Heart
Age: 78
From: Snowview, Harmonia
Bio: Dale’s a self proclaimed explorer from
Snowview. He had been itching to scout out the old ruins near his hometown, but
was looking for help to do so when you team arrived. Some things are meant to
be, eh?
Investigation 2: Dale’s had a thirst for adventure
since he was small. His mother claims he was always ‘investigating’ this or
‘exploring’ that. He aspires to be like his ancestors of old, a great warrior
and explorer, afraid of nothing. He has a long way to go though, for as tough
as he acts he is horribly afraid of heights.
Investigation 3: Dale tried to learn science in school, but the
guy has no knack for it whatsoever. At one point, he single handedly took out
an entire stock room of supplies in one of his many ‘accidents.’ He was
eventually expelled for being a jinx, and was the first dwarf to ever be banned
from the classroom. He’s not the brightest due to this, and is really sensitive
about it. One story goes that Dale was called an idiot by a passerby for
bumping into him, and Dale turned around and knocked out his teeth. He may not
be smart, but remember, he IS strong.
Investigation 4: In his attempts to be like the
great dwarfs of old, Dale actually ‘practices’ drinking. He doesn’t care much
for the stuff in reality, but feels he needs to be able to hold his liquor in
he’s to uphold the image of a great dwarf warrior. To better his training, he
actively seeks out drinking contests. To date, he’s won every contest he’s been
in. In his own words, his most difficult opponent was an old human man in
Harmonia by the name of Ramza. Dale won, but on a technicality; the bar ran out
of beer! With the two still ready for more, the contest was decided by counting
who had already had the most to drink, and Dale was ahead by a single drink:
the flask he had brought in himself. Ramza claimed it didn’t’ count as it
didn’t come from the bar but the judge ruled a flask of dwarfen ale was
certainly alcoholic, and let it stand to give Dale the win. The score was never
settled, as the two of them were both banned from the bar for life after that.
98. Chiaku
Star Bertha (Maximus’ mount) Amazon
Investigation 1:
Name: Bertha
Age: 6
From: Le Buque, Harmonia/Grasslands
Bio: Um, Bertha is a mantor from Le Buque. She’s
Maximus’ partner, and um…am I really investigating a freaking bug?
Investigation 2: Well, Bertha is apparently quite
head strong for a mantor, and incredibly stubborn. Only Maximus was able to
tame her fiery temper. As strong as she is, Maximus made her his mount, and the
two have worked together since.
Investigation 3: Bertha is quite popular with the male mantors,
but she’s not interested in any of them. She’s a consummate soldier, she is. At
least, as far as I can tell, anyway. You do realize how ridiculous this
investigation is, right?
Investigation 4: While Bertha is fierce with adults,
Bertha is quite friendly with children. When she’s not riding off into battle,
she lets children ride her freely without complain.
99. Chisyu
Star June (cheating gambler) Gambler
Investigation 1:
Name: June Richardson
Age: 28
From: Marid, Harmonia
Bio: June’s a self proclaimed professional gambler.
She’ll bet on anything you bet on…so long as the odds are in her favor.
Investigation 2: June is known for gambling big.
Even at a young age, she was always taking chances, and knew how to play the
odds. Some of her best? She bet her family house against their landlord, and
won her parents house at the age of 12. From there, she bet double or nothing
to win another of his houses. She rented out the second house to have her own
income, and used that to make bigger bets. The girl is talented, but I can’t
help but feel there’s more to it…
Investigation 3: Huh, it turns out June’s luck isn’t always perfect.
When she was 18, she was arrested. The crime? Humiliating a Harmonian official
by taking too much of his money in a poker game. She was sent to the Orbel
Mines, but managed to escape with the help of a fellow Prisoner. And the
kicker? The prisoner who helped her escape was your pal, Nathan. Small world,
eh?
Investigation 4: June plays it cool, acting like she
isn’t attached to anyone or anything, but the truth is she has never forgotten
Nathan’s kindness to her in the mines. Apparently she was quite spooked when
she heard you guys knew Nathan, and learned of his role in this war. She wants
to talk to him, but she’s not sure how to go about it. Underneath that tough
exterior, she still has a heart of a woman.
100. Chisu
Star Monty (Kobold trader) Trader
Investigation 1:
Name: Monty Young
Age: 41
From: Highcrest, Harmonia
Bio: Monty is trader from Highcrest, as you know. He
has a thing for Crystal balls, but I don’t get it. They’re not THAT shiny, are
they?
Investigation 2: Monty is a trader by trade, but
from what I hear, he ain’t too bright. He sells his goods for ridiculous low
prices, hoping to boost sales. But if his prices are so low, how does he make a
profit? I don’t know myself, but I do know one thing: I’m banking my retirement
by stocking up on his gold bars.
Investigation 3: Ok, this is just weird. Back in Highcrest, he
has an entire warehouse full of crystal balls. He typically spends an hour a
day just polishing them to get them SHINY. Are all kobolds like this?
Investigation 4: You know that break in from before?
Well, Monty is now dating the thief. They seem to be hitting it off, and the
two love to collect crystal balls together. She’s learning the business to be
closer to Monty. Or maybe be closer to the crystal balls? I can’t tell. Either
way, they seem to be made for each other with their love of SHINY objects.
101. Chiin
Star Joyce (created, inn) innkeeper
maternal
Investigation 1:
Name: Joyce Thompson
Age: 29
From: Norbank, Harmonia
Bio: Joyce is
an innkeeper from Norbank. Tired of working for other people’s profits, she
opened her own inn here at the castle.
Investigation 2: Get this? Her family is originally
from the Crystal Valley, making her a first class citizen. Her family didn’t care
for the political mad house of the capitol, so they left for a more rural
setting. Joyce went with them to help out with their new bar, but quickly
started butting heads with her parents on how to actually run the business. She
ended up quitting at the bar to work at the local inn, where she met the
charismatic Harold. With a little “persuasion” she opened her own inn here at
the castle.
Investigation 3: Well, this is no surprise to me, but Joyce is
considered one of the most beautiful women in the entire castle. She’s been
asked out many times, but she has eyes only for Harold. She seems to think what
the two of them have (had?) is/was a serious thing. Does Harold know this? If
he’s not going to pursue her, he should let her know to stop picking out baby
names, is all I’m saying…
Investigation 4: Well damn. I did some looking into
her past, and her family is not only first class, but UPPER first class. Her
grandfather is said to have been the highest ranked priest outside of the Order
of God itself, with money to spare from the family business. And the business
is murder. Her family was known for being assassins for the state, and her two
brothers are still in the family trade as Howling Voice gunners.
Man, if Harold does break her heart…well, it could
be a very bad career move for him, you know? Most people I know like staying
alive, is all I’m saying…
102. Chikei
Star SUN CRYSTAL (ROBOT)
Investigation 1:
Name: Sun Crystal
Age: 6
From: Tinto city, Tinto Republic
Bio: Sun crystal is the robot companion of Sciath,
and a bearer of the Unity Rune. The two were caught trying to sneak into
Harmonia and were tossed into Orbel. They met up with you, and have been
traveling with you since.
Investigation 2: Sun Crystal was built not by one,
but by three Tricksters; Meg made the design and body, Belle made the wheels
and arms, and Sciath built the robot’s head and personality to make it uniquely
her partner. She holds all three of her creators in high regard, which is
understandable. Sun Crystal traveled with them all for a year, before she and
Sciath went their own way, leaving Meg and Belle in Toran.
Since then, the pair have had many adventures
together, and fought many battles. All the while, Sun Crystal has promised to
make Sciath’s enemies become “smashie owie dead.”
Investigation 3: While Sun Crystal gets along great
with Meg, Belle and especially Sciath, she doesn’t get along with other
automatron robots. She’s a very fierce competitive little robot, and keeps
trying to show up robots like Gadget Z. Their rivalry is intense, and Gadget is
apparently scared of Cun Crystal after a prank went too far. Sun Crystal
‘accidentally’ left the team’s water bucket on top of Gadget Z while Gadget was
sleeping.
Gadget Z is terrified of water and rusting. And now
Sun Crystal.
Investigation 4: For a robot, Sun Crystal has quite
the temper. She is made bound to a Wrath Rune, which helps(?) her rage issues.
Or maybe intensifies them? I don’t know the science of it. But the Wrath rune
is part of her core build up, and Sun Crystal uses it to go into a berserk
state, smashing everything nearby with those twin hammers she carries. I have
to tell you, the more I learn about this ruthless robot, the less safe I feel.
If something were to go wrong, I think it wouldn’t’ stop until it made us all
“smashie owie dead” if you know what I mean. Sciath trusts Sun Crystal
implicitly, but I’m not so sure…
103. Chisou
Star SCIATH (KERRI)
Investigation 1:
Name: Sciath Whoami
Age: 17
From: Alma Kinan, Grasslands
Bio: Sciath is a traveling trickster, wandering the
land with her robot Sun Crystal. Jailed at the Harmonia border for trying to
illegally cross, she was sent to the Orbel Mines where she met the party, and
acquired a piece of the Unity Rune.
Investigation 2: Sciath is from the town of Alma
Kinan, perhaps one of the most mysterious and religious towns I’ve ever come
across. First of all? It’s a tribe of all women, no men. As far as I can tell,
no one outside the village has a CLUE to how the town survives, or how children
are born. It’s the best kept secret in the world, as an entire town knows the
answer, and no one outside of it does. But before you boys get your hopes up of
finding an easy date, I should warn you, the majority of the town is either
religiously celibate or lesbian, the ‘prominent’ orientation in an all women
society. Sciath is apparently no exception to this being a lesbian, in case you
were wondering.
Where she IS the exception is just about everywhere
else. Most people of Alma Kinan are religious, known to meditate with nature
and be in tune with great magical powers from the earth, such as clairvoyance.
Sciath has been an outcast since she was born, for she has never shown any
talent for this power, or other nature powers. Her skills lay elsewhere…
Investigation 3: From an early age, Sciath has shown
an affinity for magic like most Alma Kinan women. Only her magic is destructive
in nature, being able to harness electricity and lightning with a skill even
few die hard magicians can copy. They tried to ‘correct’ her talent, but to no
avail; when her mother tried to send her to the temple for her first cleansing,
Sciath’s power flared up and lightning struck the temple, lightning it on fire.
Sciath was banned from life from the temple, and nearly banned from the
village. Only her mother calling in several favors kept Sciath from that fate.
But since that day, Sciath has been out an outcast, and shunned by most of her
people. She hated living there, but she knew of no other life, and put up with
the torment until she was nine. Then fate stepped in.
The second fire bringer war happened. Sciath herself
wasn’t involved, but it involved her. For during the war, a trickster named
Belle came to Alma Kinan, with her robot Gadget Z. Sciath was immediately
fascinated by the robot, and asked Belle a million questions. The two talked
for hours, finding themselves to be kindred spirits. As Sciath talked of her
past and the teasing she endured, Belle told her this: “If you hate it here so
much, why don’t you leave?”
The idea had never occurred to Sciath until then.
But once it did, there was no turning back. The next day, Sciath snuck out of
town with Belle and Gadget Z, wanting to be with her new friend and learn all
about robots and tricksters. Her curiosity was piqued, and a new trickster was
born.
Investigation 4: The two friends traveled together
for a while, looking for Belle’s mom, Meg. They found her in Tinto, mining for
parts for her newest robot. Introductions were made, and Meg took the eager
Sciath as a new trickster apprentice. The prototype robot Meg was working on
became Sciath’s new robot pal, and Sciath named her Sun Crystal. The three
tricksters then traveled to Toran together, where Meg began working on yet
another new design, and spend some time with her daughter at their home. Not
wanting to delay her journey, Sciath tearfully bid her new friends and mentor
farewell for now, and began her own solo trickster journey with Sun Crystal.
The two have been all across the continent, making a scene just about
everywhere. Sciath and Sun crystal’s most notable appearance was in Dunan,
where Sun Crystal saw the famed general Ridley making a formal speech at Muse. Having
never seen a kobold before, Sciath went right up to him to give the cute
‘puppy’ a hug, and asked him how he got to be so big, where he learned to talk,
and the like.
Ridley didn’t take it well.
Eventually, they made their way to Harmonia. With
the war situation, the borders were closed, but Sciath refused to be deterred.
She tried to sneak in, but was caught. She went to Orbel, and met you all.
After the break out, she continues to fight to help her new friends, and
because “throwing me in jail was really, really, mean.” I guess that’s as good
as a reason as any other.

Star Amelia (plumber and Bath) Bath maker
Investigation 1:
Name: Amelia
Barrows
Age: 38
From: Lindenmill, Harmonia
Bio: Amelia is a plumber and bath enthusiast from
Lindenmill. She’s been doing bath work for over 20 years, and grew tired of the
work. Now she spends her days IN baths instead of making them.
Investigation 2: Have you noticed how warm the
castle stays for something so large and drafty? That would be Amelia’s work.
She snakes pipes of hot spring water throughout the castle, from inside the
walls to underneath the floors. I can understand her doing something like that
in a wooden house, but how’d she manage that in a stone castle? She really is
good, is all I can say.
Investigation 3: Apparently she and Reynaldo dated
for a while. It went well all things considered, but then they broke up as
their relationship was getting in the way of their work. I wonder how things would go now that Amelia
has changed careers from building baths to running a bath house?
Investigation 4: Amelia retired from making bath houses as she
grew tired of the work. She wanted something to inspire her, to challenge her
once again. That’s part of the reason she took this job, to work with a Sindar
healing spring and turn into a bath house. Plus her amazing plumbing work. But
that’s not all. She only took the job when Reynaldo agreed to help as well. She
has feelings for him, but she’s too embarrassed to admit to that fact. She
spends her days regretting the choice she made, her work over the man she loves,
and she can’t bring herself to admit she was wrong.
How do I know this? She’s written over a hundred
letters to Reynaldo, confessing her love for him, but she can’t bring herself
to mail a one. She stores them in her house, collecting dust. If only there was something you could do to
help these two…

Star Grey (wandering fortune teller) Fortune
teller
Investigation 1:
Name: Grey ????
Age: ???
From: ????
Bio: This gal is named Grey, a self proclaimed
“Wandering fortune teller.” So far, that’s all I know.
Investigation 2: She displayed some potent magic in
sealing the Chronos Rune, but I don’t have a clue as to where she learned it.
No one’s ever heard of this person before, and there’s not even a record of her
entering or leaving the country…
Investigation 3: Ok, this just gets weird and weird.
Apparently, she knows Viki and Jeane, two of the most mysterious people I’ve
ever investigated. There’s got to be a connection there, but damned if I know
what. All I can say for sure is she is a powerful spell caster. And from what
rumors I can gather, she has a strong connection to Flik and his wife as
well. Considering she knows so many
people from the Toran republic, my best guess she comes from that area as well.
Investigation 4: With so much coming up empty on Grey, I tried
the direct approach, and asked her about her past. She simply said this: that
she’s been traveling for as long as she can remember, and even she doesn’t
remember her origins. She took her name Grey from the grey clothes she was
wearing, and the name has stuck ever since.

Star Bradenton (Temepleton’s son) Mapmaker
Investigation 1:
Name: Bradenton Harris
Age: 13
From: Kanakan
Bio: Bradenton is a map maker from Kanakan, far to
the south. Apparently, it’s been the dream of him and his family to map the
entire world.
Investigation 2: Bradenton is the son of a renowned
map maker named Templeton. Templeton is so dedicated to his maps, that he
served in two wars in order to preserve his maps. And now Bradenton is doing
the same. Like father, like son…
Investigation 3: Get this? Bradenton is actually one of a set
of quadruplets! He has two brothers and a sister, who are also map enthusiasts.
The four left their hometown at the same time, each going in a different
direction. Between the lot of them, they plan to cover more ground that way and
compare notes in ten years time. That’s a lot of planning for kids so young…
Investigation 4: Oh ho, listen to this! Apparently,
Bradenton and his siblings have a wager going on! Whoever can cover the most
ground and make the most detailed map gets to inherit their father’s map making
business when he retires. Bradenton is worried as he was stuck going north into
lands his father already mapped, and then was stopped at the Harmonia border
for being suspicious. Mapping Harmonia was going to be his crowning
achievement, but not if the place keeps changing on him. That’s why he joined,
as he’s betting on us making a new nation, and he wants to be the first to map
it.

Star Byron (Noble turned bandit) Bandit
Investigation 1:
Name: Byron von Bismarck
Age: 43
From:
Lorview, Harmonia
Bio: Byron was once a nobleman of Lorview, or so he
claims. What’s apparent is he is now a petty bandit, and a poor one at that.
Investigation 2: Huh. Turns out Byron really WAS a
noble of Lorview. When the country surrendered, he led a few men of arms in a
small rebellion, trying to stir up resistance to Harmonia’s invasion. It didn’t
fly with the general populace who thought it was futile, and so Byron and his
men were deemed traitors who didn’t speak for either nation. Byron’s estates
were seized, and he lost everything.
Investigation 3: Ever since he lost his estate, Byron has made
his life as a wanted man and bandit. He’s not very good at it though, as he
declares his every move to his opponents “in the name of honor.” At one point,
he tried to rob from Gloria and her bandits, which only made them laugh. Gloria
took pity on him, and let him join her band, teaching him how to be a real
bandit. He still is overly dramatic, but at least he can pull his own weight
now.
Investigation 4: He is totally in love with Gloria,
but he can’t admit it. He feels he needs to rebuild his wealth first to be
worthy of her love, or something foolish like that. His old family manor is for
sale for 500,000 Potch. Who knows if he’ll ever make that kind of money. If
only there was some way to help him out, eh?

Star May
(Winger traveling saleswoman) Item
Salesman
Investigation 1:
Name: May Dove
Age: 27
From: Two River, Dunan
Bio: May’s a
traveling saleswoman who found your castle on her journey back from trading in
Wreckmar. Needing a break from traveling, she decided to open up a shop here.
Investigation 2: May is proud of her prices, always
saying they can’t be beat. If you were to find proof of a place that sells
cheaper, she would probably give you a discount, maybe even a prize...
Investigation 3: May’s from a place called Two River
in the Dunan Republic. She left home at a young age to get out of her older
brother’s shadow. His name is Chaco, and he’s s some sort of big shot war hero,
having fought in the Dunan Unification War. It was always “Chaco this” or
“Chaco that” so she got fed up with it and ran off one night without a note or
anything.
Investigation 4: After May left home, her family
went frantic looking for her. Chaco eventually caught up to her a few years
back on the western continent, and tried to bring May back. She tried to reason
with him, but he wouldn’t listen to her. She got so fed up with him she
apparently threw every item in her bag at him, chasing him for hours. After
they fought, the two siblings made up, and Chaco helped her pick up her things.
May continued traveling, and Chaco went home to tell their family she was
alright.
NO STAR: Pearl
Investigation
1:
Name: Pearl Miller
Age: 26
From: Crystal Valley, Harmonia
Bio: The leader of the Liberation Army. She and her
team rescued you guys, from what I hear. She’s an incredibly public figure,
having been born to an upper class family and turning her back on them to fight
for people’s rights. What more do you need to know about her?
Investigation 2: Pearl, huh? She’s an incredibly
gifted young woman, smart as can be. She graduated the top of class at Soledt
Academy, and gave a speech at graduation to the upper crust of Harmonia. It was
an inflammatory speech, urging the gathered nobility to rethink their ways, and
to allow equal rights to all people. Harmonia guards tried to arrest her
afterwards, but she had planned on that and had an escape already planned.
She’s been on the run ever since.
Investigation 3: Ok, so I talked to some of the older members
of the liberation army for you. From what I hear, Pearl came to regard all life
as equals from her time studying at Soledt. Apparently, strategy 101 is to win,
no matter what the cost. Most of her peers treated the lower class soldiers
like dirt, expendable to the last. But not Pearl. She realized that every life
is precious, as even the lowliest soldier can shift the tide of battle if he
puts his heart into it. She became more and more concerned with the sparring of
lives, and began to question why others didn’t feel the same way. That’s how
she got involved with this mess.
Investigation 4: Pearl became the leader of the
Liberation army after a skirmish outside of Aelton castle. A peaceful demonstration
turned into a bloodbath when Harmonia soldiers found out about it. Pearl used
her considerable strategy skills to keep casualties to a minimum, and helped
the survivors escape from the city. Until that point, the movement had been an
unorganized grassroots movement, but after seeing Pearl in action the
demonstrators put her in charge. Seeing how peaceful protest is violently put
down, she has since organized the movement into a full scale army, ready to
fight back. The rest is history.
NO STAR: Tir McDohl
Investigation 1:
Name: Tir McDohl
Age: 43
From: Gregminster, Toran Republic
Bio: Tir is the former leader of the Toran
Liberation Army, and the bearer of the Soul Eater, the rune of Life and Death.
While not an official part of our army, he is willing to help out if asked to
put an end to Windy.
Investigation 2: Tir’s past is colorful. He was born
the son of a great General, Teo, and became a solider of the Scarlet moon
empire at first. As he grew older and saw the atrocities of the empire, he left
to join the liberation army. When the former leader, Odessa, died, he took over
as leader. With him at the helm, he lead the army to victory over the Scarlet
moon empire. During this war, Tir’s friend Ted entrusted him with the Soul
Eater, with instructions to never let Windy get her hands on it. He swore to
this, on Ted’s death. It’s why he is here now, to honor that promise and put an
end to Windy once and for all.
Investigation 3: Since the end of the Liberation
war, Tir and Gremio traveled the land for a while, but this caused them to
continually encounter new people, giving the soul eater new souls to feed from.
This couldn’t be clearer then when they got involved in Dunan’s war with
Highland. Not wishing to fight and feed the soul eater, the two of them retired
to a small shack near the Dragon’s Den, behind the security of the Dragon
Knights. Tir went into isolation, letting Gremio go into town for food and
supplies. Tir spends his days reading and farming, avoiding human contact at
all costs. It’s a lonely life, but it’s one he feels is needed to keep the rune
safe.
Investigation 4: Tir had a secret relationship with
one of his Toran Liberation army members, a ninja named Kasumi. The same Kasumi
who now leads the hamlet of Rokkaku. The extent of their relationship isn’t
clear, but what is clear that Tir thinks of her often, judging by the number of
entries of her in his diary. But to keep her safe from the soul eater’s curse,
he told her to forget him and move on, while he went into isolation with
Gremio, the one man immune to his rune’s curse. Still, Tir has yet to take his
own advice, and still carries a torch for her. It’s sad that the two of them
could never get together. If only there was some way to protect Kasumi from the
rune’s effects…
NO STAR: Gremio
Investigation 1:
Name: Gremio Dyans
Age: 52
From: Gregminster, Toran Republic
Bio: Gremio is the body guard of Tir McDohl. While
not an official member of our army, he is willing to help out if asked.
Investigation 2: Gremio has served the McDohl family
for generations, first as a soldier under Tea, then as a servant and caretaker
to Tir, and now as a bodyguard and traveling companion to Tir. Gremio has
followed Tir throughout the entire Toran Liberation war, even – crazily enough
- giving his life to save Tir. Yet, thanks to the power of the Gate Rune and
the 108 stars of destiny, he was brought back to life to continue serving Tir.
But with the soul eater having stolen his soul, Gremio has stopped aging, sort
of like a vampire. But unlike a vampire, Gremio doesn’t drink blood or
anything, but lives and breathes as an ordinary human. Just…soulless. This
makes him a perfect companion for Tir, whose cursed runes steals the souls of
those closest to him.
Knights. Tir went into isolation, letting Gremio go into town for food and
supplies. Gremio handles the cooking, for in addition to being a warrior, he is
an accomplished chef. It’s a quiet life, but one that they have come to relish.
Investigation 4: Gremio earned Teo’s respect by once
rescuing Tir during the succession wars. Enemy General Assam kidnapped the
young Tir, and demanded Teo fight in battle without his armored cavalry. Gremio
went behind enemy lines and single handedly rescued Tir, allowing Teo to fight
to his fullest and help win the war. After the war, Teo rewarded those who had
served him well, including Gremio, Cleo, and Pahn. It’s how Gremio became a
servant of Teo’s, and well, the rest is history.
NO STAR: Riou
Investigation 1:
Name: Riou Grains
Age: 37
From: Kyaro, Dunan Republic (Formerly Highland)
Bio: Riou is the former leader of the Dunan
Liberation army, and the bearer of the Bright Shield Rune, a part of the rune
of Beginning. He’s not an official part of our army, but he’s willing to help
out when asked.
Investigation 2: Riou is a major political figure,
having lead to the Dunan Army to Victory with the help of his strategist, Shu.
He started out as a soldier in the Highland army, but his unit was massacred by
Luca Blight to force a war with the City State. Riou brought this news to the
city State, and began helping the defense against Highland with Viktor’s
mercenaries. As the army grew, he became the leader due his relation to his
grandfather, Genkaku, and his Bright Shield Rune. With him at the helm, the
army rallied to Victory, pushing Highland back to its capitol. With the war
ended, Riou was offered a leadership position in the Dunan Government, but
refused, choosing to go on a journey with Nanami, Jowy, and later, Eilie.
Investigation 3: Riou started dating Eilie during
the Dunan Unification war, but they kept it secret as both were too shy to go
about announcing it. When he left to go on his journey, he reluctantly left
Eilie behind. But he couldn’t forget her, and he talked Jowy and Nanami to go
back for her. He asked her to go with them, and she agreed. The two have been
together ever since.
Investigation 4: Riou proposed to Eilie at Rina’s
home on Eilie’s birthday. Surrounded by his closest friends and family, Riou
dropped to one knee and gave her a huge diamond ring, surrounded by even
smaller diamonds. Riou called in a favor with his friend Shu, to afford one of
the most beautiful and expensive rings money could buy.
They had a very short engagement, getting married
the same week while everyone was still in the area. The guest list was short,
but many of Riou’s friends from his army days were invited. It was a day full
of surprises and joy, a day both Riou and Eilie hold dear.
NO STAR: Eilie
Investigation 1:
Name: Eilie Grains
Age: 37
From: Kyaro, Dunan Republic (Formerly Highland)
Bio: Eilie
was a circus performer turned liberation army soldier in the Dunan Unification
war. While not an official part of our army, she is willing to help out if
asked.
Investigation 2: Eilie is the wife of Riou. They
secretly began dating during the Dunan War, both too shy to announce their
relationship. When Riou, Nanami, and Jowy began traveling, Riou still missed
Eilie. He couldn’t forget her. So after 6 months apart, the three friends went
back to Dunan, and looked up Eilie. She was furious at first, but she quickly
forgave him when she learned he had to come back for her. It was a sign of what
was to come, and the two have been together ever since.
Investigation 3: Eilie has a sister, named Rina, and
an adopted brother named Bolgan. The three were traveling circus performers
together for years. When Riou came back for her, Eilie had a hard time choosing
between love and family. Rina was the one who made the decision for her,
telling her to go, be with the one she loved. Eilie left with her sister’s
blessing, but she still misses her family. They go back and visit twice a year.
In the years since, Rina has married as well, to a wealthy nobleman in Dunan.
Bolgan has retired as a circus performer, and is paid to be Rina’s ’bodyguard’
now that she’s a big shot. Eilie’s been much happier since then, knowing that
her family is well, and she can be with the man she loves.
Investigation 4: Riou proposed to Eilie at Rina’s
home on Eilie’s birthday. Surrounded by her closest friends and family, Riou
dropped to one knee and gave her a huge diamond ring, surrounded by even
smaller diamonds. It took Eilie’s breathe away, and she nearly fainted. They
had a very short engagement, getting married the same week while everyone was
still in the area. It was a small ceremony, but it was something Eilie still
holds dear.
NO STAR: Nanami
Investigation 1:
Name: Nanami Grains
Age: 37
From: Kyaro, Dunan Republic (Formerly Highland)
Bio: Nanami is a famous warrior from the Dunan
Republic, and sister of Riou, the leader of the Dunan Unification army. While
not a part of our army officially, she is willing to help out if asked.
Investigation 2: Nanami fought in the Dunan
Unification war alongside her brother for most of the war. However, at the
battle of Matilda, Riou risked his life to protect her. Thinking Riou should
not do such a thing as a leader, she faked her death so Riou could focus on the
war. When the war ended, she revealed herself to still be alive, and she began
traveling with Riou and Jowy. That was 23 years ago.
Investigation 3: Believe it or not, she and Jowy are
married. She has long cared for him, but he was always oblivious to her
affections. They started dating 20 years ago, and were married 16 years ago. He
proposed to her on a romantic boat ride through the water garden of Kanakan,
and she was so excited she tipped the boat over! After THAT, she literally ran
through the city and showed off her new ring to everyone she could find. Riou
was probably the last to know. He wasn’t surprised, and gave them his full
blessing.
Investigation 4: Nanami and Jowy decided early on
that they didn’t want kids, as the life of travelers was not one for children.
Still, they didn’t stop Nanami from getting pregnant. It wasn’t meant to be, as
she miscarried 2 months into her pregnancy… and before she could tell Jowy. After
the miscarriage, she couldn’t bear to tell Jowy, to have that burden on him.
She’s kept it from him for years now, only telling her diary the truth.
NO STAR: Jowy
Investigation 1:
Name: Jowy Atreides / Jowy Blight /Jowy Grains
Age: 37
From: Kyaro, Dunan Republic (Formerly Highland)
Bio: Jowy is a huge political figure, and the former
king of Highland. He bears the Black Sword Rune, one part of a True Rune. He
wants nothing to do with our army, but if push comes to shove, he’ll help out
for Jilia and Pilika’s sake.
Investigation 2: Jowy has one hell of a past to him.
He started out as a minor nobleman’s son, and made shrewd political moves to
marry Jilia Blight, and eventually become King of Highland. He betrayed and
hurt a lot of people in an effort to end the war as quickly, but he backed the
wrong side. After his side lost, he disappeared without a trace. Somehow, he
met up with Riou and Nanami.
Investigation 3: Jowy’s spent the last 23 years
wandering the land with Nanami and Riou, the brother and sister he has known
since a child. About 20 years ago, he started dating Nanami, and 16 years ago
they were married. He still cares for Jilia, his first wife, but after so many
years of traveling with just Nanami as the only woman in his life, things were
bound to happen. He proposed to her on a romantic boat ride through the water
garden of Kanakan, and she was so excited she tipped the boat over! They are
quite the comical couple, but you can see that they care for each other.
Investigation 4: In the times of their travels, Jowy
has done his best to help out orphans, always remembering his lost little
‘niece’ Pilika. The money he collects from fighting monsters and trading goods
he donates over 90% of it to local orphanages, keeping only what he needs to
survive. It’s his way of trying to make amends. The war may be over, but Jowy’s
memories of the war still haunt him.
NO STAR: Mukumuku
Investigation 1:
Name: Mukumuku
Age: 28
From: Kyaro, Dunan Republic (Formerly Highland)
Bio: Mukumuku is a flying squirrel. I kid you not.
He showed up – somehow – when you made a flying squirrel as your Guardian
Deity. How does that even work?
Investigation 2: Mukumuku is the leader of his
people, from the area of Dunan Republic. He is considered handsome, smart, and
brave. He even helped fight in the Dunan Unification war, if you can believe
it. I never would have thought a squirrel capable of such things.
Investigation 3: Mukumuku has four siblings, named
Mokumoku, Mekumeku, Makumaku, and Mikumiku. They ALL fought together in Dunan,
out of friendship with the leader of the Dunan Army, Riou. But as far as I can
tell, the only difference is the color of their capes. I’m sure there is more
to it, but damned if I can tell a difference.
Investigation 4: Ok, I found a source who can talk
to animals… don’t ask. But according to Mukumuku, he felt the Guardian Deity
summoning him to aid us in battle, and he knew he was needed. He has a strong
sense of justice, so when he learned what we were fighting for, he decided to
stay on until we won. He did send a message back to his family to let them know
he was ok, so no worries there. When Mukumuku makes up his mind to do something,
he follows it through to the end!
NO STAR: Gigoro
Investigation 1:
Name: Gigoro
Age: 8
From: Outside Witchport, Harmonia
Bio: Gigoro is a Kraken originally from the caves of
Witchport, who you found lost near the beaches of Harmonia Naval Ruins. He
joined up when Bazeroth found him.
Investigation 2: Gigoro is the second oldest, and
the biggest of all the siblings. He’s said to be quite strong, and is very
proud of his muscles.
Investigation 3: The Kraken siblings share the war
ability of water travel. And it’s said if you used all five of them as your
partners in battle, something amazing might happen. Why don’t you give it a
try?
Investigation 4: Gigoro spends his time doing the
equivalent of weight lifting, moving boulders around for fun, and building
grottos for his people. I guess he’s the equivalent of an architect, but it’s
hard to say.
NO STAR: Titanrina
Investigation 1:
Name: Titanrina
Age: 7
From: Outside Witchport, Harmonia
Bio: Titanrina is a Kraken originally from the caves
of Witchport, who you found lost near the beaches of Red Lake. He joined up
when Bazeroth found him.
Investigation 2: Titanrina is the only sister of the
five siblings. She is said to be very beautiful among Krakens, but how am I
supposed to judge that?
Investigation 3: The Kraken siblings share the war
ability of water travel. And it’s said if you used all five of them as your
partners in battle, something amazing might happen. Why don’t you give it a
try?
Investigation 4: Titanrina is said to be quite
musical. Her voice sounds like wailing to me, but apparently she’s popular
among the nautical crowd. I guess you need to hear her voice underwater to
truly appreciate it. You’re um, not going to ask me to verify that, are you?
NO STAR: Yuporon
Investigation 1:
Name: Yuporon
Age: 6
From: Outside Witchport, Harmonia
Bio: Yuporon is a Kraken originally from the caves
of Witchport, who you found lost near the waters of Cerock Castle. He joined up
when Bazeroth found him.
Investigation 2: The five siblings were separated in
a storm, as you likely know. But they were so far scattered beforehand as they
were having a fishing contest, to see who could catch the most fish. Then the
storm came, and everyone was scattered. What I don’t get is how they managed to
get so far from each other…
Investigation 3: The Kraken siblings share the war
ability of water travel. And it’s said if you used all five of them as your
partners in battle, something amazing might happen. Why don’t you give it a
try?
Investigation 4: Yuporon is the ‘mediator’ of the
siblings, the one who negotiates with mermaids and other creatures. For a
creature who can’t speak our language, he apparently is a good speaker. Who
would have thought?
NO STAR: Hamasis
Investigation 1:
Name: Hamasis
Age: 5
From: Outside Witchport, Harmonia
Bio: Hamasis is a Kraken originally from the caves
of Witchport, who you found lost near the beaches of Ironbeach, Camaro. He
joined up when Bazeroth found him.
Investigation 2: Hamasis is the youngest of the five
Kraken siblings. He doesn’t say much…in fact, he doesn’t say anything. I did
mention he’s a Kraken, yes?
Investigation 3: The Kraken siblings share the war
ability of water travel. And it’s said if you used all five of them as your
partners in battle, something amazing might happen. Why don’t you give it a
try?
Investigation 4: Hamasis actually tries to do
artwork. I’ve watched him wield multiple paintbrushes and painted the cave
walls of their grotto. It’s something to see, I tell you.
NO STAR: Grant
Investigation 1:
Name: Grant
Bonds
Age: 33
From: Belus,
Harmonia
Bio: Grant joined your party in the Orbel Mines, and
is one of the bearers of the Unity Rune. He was the junior foreman under Nathan
for six years, ever since he was incarcerated. There are a lot of rumors about
this guy, about how he ended up there and what not. Don’t you worry, I’ll find
the truth.
Investigation 2: Get a load of this, eh? According
to the prison paperwork, Grant was in jail for mass murder. Over 20 people,
civilians and soldiers alike. Crazy.
Shouldn’t a guy like that have been executed? I’m not sure if we can
trust this guy anymore…
Investigation 3:
Well, I dug a bit deeper. Turns out Grant not only killed 25 people,
they were all in the employ of one Rodin Relos, one of the Order of God! He
burst into Relos’s home and started chopping people up left and right with that
axe of his. He was eventually brought down by Relos himself and some guards.
And after that, Relos himself gave Grant a pardon from death, sending him to
the mines instead. Just what the heck happened between those two?
Investigation 4: Oh man, you are not going to
believe this one. I dug deeper as the job requires, right? Turns out that Grant
attacked the Relos home for a reason. From what I hear, Relos killed Grant’s
wife. I don’t know the full story, but apparently she was a 3rd
class citizen, and that was enough for Relos to kill her. Grant went nuts with
rage, and attacked, as you know. And I heard this from a drunken Grant himself;
apparently Relos spared him as Relos had said “I want you to suffer before you
die, just like she did.” I may have had it wrong about Grant before, as this
Relos guy seems to have had it coming…
NO STAR: Futch
Investigation 1:
Name: Futch Maleficent
Age: 35
From: Goya, Domain of the Dragon Caves, Toran
Bio: Futch is a Dragon Knight from the Dragon’s Den,
and a good friend of Royce’s. When Royce asked for help, Futch rallied the
troops and brought the dragons to our cause.
Investigation 2: Futch has a very colorful history
to him. He was a Dragon Knight apprentice in the Toran Gate Wars, in which his
first Dragon, Black, was killed. He was exiled from the Dragon’s den without a
dragon, and traveled the land with Humphrey in search of a new dragon. He found
Bright with the help of Riou of Dunan, and helped him out in exchange during
the Dunan Unification war. He even served in the second fire bringer war with
Sharon, the daughter of Dragon Captain Milia. With this guy’s war experience on
our side, we have a valuable ally indeed!
Investigation 3: Futch’s career has taken him from
an apprentice, to being exiled, to being reinstated, and now he’s the Vice
Commander (or second in command) of the Dragon Knights. It makes him quite
exceptional for many reasons. I mean, he’s the only exiled dragon knight to
ever return with a wild dragon. That’s impressive. And to be the Vice
Commander? That means if Milia, the Captain, is injured or something, he is
next in line to inherit the Dragon Rune. That’s a HUGE responsibility.
Investigation 4: Futch and Royce go back several
years. Futch needed to go on a dangerous mission, and choose Royce as one of
his three companion knights. The team was ambushed, and it was thanks to Vasuki
and Royce that the team survived. Since then Futch has trusted Royce with all
the most important missions, making Royce the go to guy of the Vice Commander.
You know, if something were to happen to Milia and Futch became Captain, that
could make Royce become Vice Captain. I wonder what would happen if Royce tried
to take the Dragon Rune?
NO STAR: Bright
Investigation 1:
Name: Bright
Age: 5
From: Mt. Rakutei, Matilda (Dunan)
Bio: Bright is the dragon companion of Futch. When
Futch joined, so did Bright.
Investigation 2: Bright was born an orphan on Mt.
Rakutei. He was found there by Futch, who raised him to be his new dragon.
Bright has a special affinity to the areas of the mountains, and loves going
back there to see Futch’s friend, Kent.
Investigation 3: It’s a little known fact, but
Bright has a weak spot behind his jaw. But considering that he’s, you know, a
DRAGON, most people can’t get close enough to exploit that weakness. And most
who get close, well, get eaten. It’s not exactly helpful, is it?
Investigation 4: Bright is considered a rare breed
of dragon for his white color, and the unusual method of his birth in the wild.
He’s quite popular with the female dragons, as a sort of “Bad boy.” I guess
some things are universal, eh?
